As many people know, engineers can't run locomotives alone. It's a two man job. I propose that a scenario mode be created where an AI handles the speed, and overall main controls, while you, the player, are left with the task of keeping the fire lit, managing boiler pressure, and other tasks, to ensure that the engineer has enough steam to maintain speed, and stay on schedule. As of right now, you can still kind of do these things in a regular scenario, but you only really have the ability to add coal and water to the boiler, and to occasionally adjust the reverser or throttle to keep boiler pressure up. I think that this mode would be a great fit for anyone looking for more of a challenge when playing Train Simulator.
