Dear all. After watching the following video It features a cab ride from Frankfurt am Main to Wurzburg back in the late 1990s. As not much changed between then and 2017, when the new Spessartrampe was inaugurated, I wanted to suggest this route. Besides closing the gap between Wurzburg and Frankfurt am Main, it also has the benefit of a revival of the initial add on released back in 2018(?) and which by now is sorely missed by many in the community. It was and is the main connection between Munich/Nuremberg and Rhine Main Area and as such is served with high frequency. Trains include before the 1990s: Intercity Euro City D-Zug Eilzug RE/SE Nahverkehr Freight services were with DBBR 151 and 194 From the 1990s ICE IC RE freight services were hauled by DBBR 140/150/151 and later on 145 The 194 was used until the early 1990s when they were replaced with 140/151 locos to push the trains up the slope. The route should definitely include the 20 km stretch from Wurzburg to near Lohr on the NBS with the Nantenbacher Kurve and can use the sudliche Mainbahn from Hanau, but adding the nordliche Mainbahn via FFM Ost would be the cherry on the top. With this it would become possible to have through services from Ingolstadt/Nuremberg to Frankfurt am Main, Mainz, Wiesbaden or (though a mix in eras) Koblenz. I would appreciate this suggestion being considered and hope for your positive response. Kind regards.
