That run was excellent. I've been thinking about turning that into a scenario, but its probably not me to make it happen as I have 0 experience with the scenario editor.
Route: Bahnstrecke Salzburg – Rosenheim SPECIAL: I must confess... "I stole a locomotive!" I was driving the Flying Scotman, and when passing the BR155 on the Museum, I wonder...Can I take that locomotive?... I started all the systems from "zero", but the locomotive does not move. Then using Free Roam, I added the BR204 in order to take it out of the turntable. After that, the BR155 ... was "free"!...
You can't, so they just stand there. I assume it's something to do with how the game works, they react (or are supposed to) to Timetabled services and commands.
For me, the most important function that is missing is the ability to select a different train and change it in the timetable. There is also no train creator - locomotives and any wagons.
I would like to see more routes in the biggest cities of Germany for example Hamburg-Berlin or Cologne-Frankfurt
What i would like to do is to start a timetable, and then to be able to replace the locomotive with another one, or replace the whole train with another one, and then still follow the timetable. as if the usual loco is out of order and is replaced
I've only just realised you can operate free roam in timetable mode! I operated a freight train on fife, slotted into ai traffic ok. Pulled over to let a 170 pass me. Also operated a unscheduled 465 from faversham to Dartford. Stopped at Newington to let some services pass and Gillingham platform to let more pass.
An EMT set lead by 43066 on hire to LNER crosses the Forth Bridge on an early morning ECS working to Dundee.
A bit of a long run. Starting at London Victoria... Down the Brighton mainline as far as the Littlehampton branch. Then a run from Lewes to Eastbourne, a quick visit to Ashford international then faversham to Dartford. Finishing with a little run upto London Victoria on the bit of Chatham mainline. In the flying Scotsman. Probably would have been better if I went to Brighton then Brighton to Eastbourne.
I keep meaning to have a play with GWE then last time I tried using ole it's hard to find a path with power. It seems not all the lines are electric, even though there's overhead lines. Had a nice run with the Southern livery 170 on bml.
Can someone tell how you couple the single South-eastern 375 coach/car together as there is no single South eastern emu light engine to do it with in free roam Secondly why is there only a class 166 emu light engine with the First Group Great Western livery with no Single Coach/Car i know you can couple the two emu together or make a four Car unit out of it in free & why is it that the First Group Great Western livery been applied to GWE its-SELF ?
The other day I had great fun with the ICE3 Rainbow on Vorarlberg. Started at Lindau at around 8 am, took some time to set up the train. Then I departed for Lustenau. When I got there I had some issues as a train coming from Bludenz wanted to enter the branch line towards Lustenau to enter the very track I had parked my ICE3 on. It therefore couldn't enter the branch but I also could not leave because I wanted to go towards Feldkirchen/Bludenz and that 4024 was sitting in the junction... I ended up deleting the 4024 to resume my journey southwards. After arriving at Bludenz I went one station back to the north to park up my train in an unused siding. It is now obvious to me why there is no regular ICE traffic on this route: there is no room for an ICE to travel at linespeed without having to slow down for traffic. But it was a great excursion!
I have tried a few times to od a free roam using a UK tain in Germany I select the Set Path but I get route not avaiable or something so keep tryin different ponts but same thing, what am I doing wrong? I makr sure its electric like the track etc as well. Col.
I'm looking forward to using the 218 when it releases to plod around Lindau simulating the EC traction swaps (will have to use the 1116/Vectron on the electric stretch instead of an SBB loco, but it's close enough for me!)
I ve had some fun with a few thing s recently, with free roam timtable , formation creaor . Last night spawned on the new Semmeringtbahn route on foot in timetable mode then spawned 2 GE ES44c4 s short us freight set a path to run end to end was fun working the brakes etc and going up and down the 2.4 percent grades in the mountains plan on trying a longer US freight on this route in free roam etc to see how it goe s
I also did a ACS64 powered electric freight on the NY trenton route spawned on foot then spawned 2 amtrak ACS64 s set braking to freight ,spawned 10 auto racks and 50 sherman hill reefer box cars off formation creator set path trenton to the tunnels got up to 128 mph with my train on the fast part of the line
Well, I think, a couple of years back, around 2020, before the ETR were in use, it would somehow fit or at least not all in all wrong...
I try the free roam a few times, I've learend some trains won't work on other lines mainly the electric ones as voltage different etc. what else ikind of annoys me is if I pick and engine I'm not faliiar with I go to set it to run and it is asking for me to set something else but I can't find it, sometimes just a knob or a button needs pressing, I wish it would hightlight to save me searching all over. Col.
Another thing I can't fathom on Free Roam is when I go to set the route when I select the end point it says something like get to that point, so I try other points and same, so something must be wrong, so wht allow the train to spwan if it won't work. Also sometimes I go to set the end point and go shrink the rounte to save scrolling it and when I select the point it flirts me back the the start so I have to enlarge the route to do it. Col.
In tsw 4 I tried to run a mainline freight with mid dpu and end dpu and it had derailed before I even left the yard
