1984, after another class 40 failed, the remaining four 40s got withdrawn from passenger service and prepared for moving to swindon: Part 1 - Preparation:
Maybe I’m asking too much, but is it possible to “record” free roam runs so that they can be automatically converted to user scenarios?
How did you get blue 20s with numbers? the download I found had a nice colour but no numbers present.
Those are from the creators club. I remember the name of the skin is "weathered" or "heavy weathered". I struggled to use the filter, but enter "chopper", so it should appear.

We really could do with more than one savegame slot. I've filled out NTP's depot's, sidings and main station hubs with plenty of loco's and wagon's so there's plenty of activity to be done but I'm going to lose it all if I use savegame on something else
In a similar thread about freeroam i suggested an enhancement to free Rosm With tsw the players have access to different timetables on the route. So why not make a section for " player edited" timetables in the free roam section? In the usual route selection, the player can load dtgs timetable and place stuff on it. Obviously with leaving the session the player looses his placed stock. So my thought was it would be good if we can place stock in: - free cam mode - via the 2d map! (This way you can place trains on the other side of the map) - set a.i route (dispatcher creates the task and the placed train will move as a.i) So as real improvement for not loosing static stock i immagine following solution: - in the free roam section, you can now load empty routes and do sandbox, so what if we could load the devs original timetable, and place our static stock there, and safe it as "player edited timetable 1.2.3 " under route x/y. So you can always load a player edited timetable and have your own stock there. If a player places the locos on the mainline and the dispatcher gets messed up, well player error. I thought this would be a great addition to make more use of the free roam section. Also devs original tts can be loaded, changed and saved as player edited timetable. This way the original timetable will remain. This feature would benefit for placing static stock in existing timetables. - devs dont need to spend time filling old routes - players can have 20 different changed and saved "edited timetables" and have all kind of different rolling stock. Perfect would be sharing player edited timetables in creators club, can be losded via free roam (similar as scenarios can be loaded in scenario planner)
Strange...you somehow get the impression that on the WCML-section on Bakerloo-line there are more tracks laid than on the Bakerloo section...
A little foretaste of the Maintalbahn. It would definitely be nice to see a Railtour service like this in the real DLC.
Thinking on a new and original Free Roam, I decided to use an UK locomotive - Class 66 -, but of a German company - DB Schenker - , on a German route: Hamburg - Lubeck....
When I see something like that, I ask myself why we've never gotten a Class 66 for German Routes from DTG?
The 66 should work with the german wagons too, i tried a few tests to haul it with other locomotives, didnt have problems. Yes Dtg would need to integrate Pzb + the air conditioning on top of the roof.
There are German class 66 locos without Aircon, so that's not an issue. At first glance, the 3d model would need different headlights, buffers and air hoses, but that should be doable. Re-using the physics would also save a lot of work. However, the German locos seem to have a completely different cab with the power handle on the left rather than the US style control stand and German style brake gauges: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kilux/5468853662 https://www.flickr.com/photos/kilux/5482897201/ A German 66 would still make a lot of sense. It's not like we've got so many other German mainline diesels... Edit: DB has recently started repainting the gray "EuroCargoRail" locos into DB Verkehrsrot too, so if licensing was an issue previously, it shouldn't be anymore: https://www.fotocommunity.de/photo/eine-rote-class-makna/46661480.
It will be great to have an specific Class 66 for running on Germany! I found this one operated in Germany. I will test DB Schenker one with german freight cars, if they work OK
Apart from that right point you mentioned... we do not have a big diesel locomotive (6 axle one), for Germany or Austrian routes.. I mean apart of using that locomotive, also a modern diesel one too, like the ones just arrived to my country: the Stadler Euro 4001.
Operated a special service from Lubeck Hbf to Hamburg-Wandsbek to transport passengers for the funfair (unlocked via the mastery reward) using the DB BR 628. I love this route and it was quite a unique and alternate experience. Shortly after departure from Lubeck, the dispatcher held us at a red to let both an RE and ICE service depart towards Hamburg which was cool.
I took a step back in time to the late 2010s when this was what virtually every train looked like on the Antelope Valley Line.
I grabbed one from the yards at Doncaster that was already decoupled. Same way I once had Scotsman pulling EMT MK3 coaches. Even though there should be, I don't think there is a traditional way to decouple HSTs and MK3s. The same applies for German IC coaches, or at least it does for me on PS5. I imagine these will be things that formation designer will allow us to bypass at least in some capacity.
Route: Long Island Railroad. Free Roam train: UK - BR Class 375 Electrostar The UK train, runs without any problem on this US Route. I really enjoyed the drive
The MP36 is recently out of maintenance at Taylor yard as is going for a little test run with an F125. Nice to have two engines with a longer 5 car train and in the rain. It's raining in Southern California today.
Discovering the end of the lines... München S7 on it's way to Wolfrathshausen... An IC on it's way from Bremen to Hamburg... There is quite a big yard on the main line towards Paddington on Bakerloo line... Flying Scotsman at Sächsisches Eisenbahnmuseum (Chemnitz Hilbertsdorf...)
Hello everyone, today I am going to tell a story called 'A Zulu of Two Halves', this will be across 2 pages and will tell you the goings-on for a new service GWR are operating... Let's get into it then... A Zulu of Two Halves: Chapter 1 - The Outbound Run: The story begins at London Paddington, on a late December morning in 2015 with the rather odd clear skies overhead, where Great Western Railway are trialling a new service between there and Hayes & Harlington, prior to an order of 8 Class 387 'Electrostar' units, which will operate the service. GWR are using their extensive fleet of Class 165 and Class 166 'Networker Turbo' units for these duties and will be using 2-Zulu-xx headcodes for the duration of the trial. So what are the timings of the services then? That is a simple answer, odd-numbered 2-Zulu-xx (2Z07 for example) will leave London Paddington at xx:25 every hour from 08:25 until 20:25 and will arrive into Hayes & Harlington at xx:49 every hour. The even-numbered 2-Zulu-xx headcodes (2Z06 for example) will depart Hayes & Harlington at xx:55 every hour from 07:55 until 20:55 and will arrive into Paddington at xx:15 every hour. It's time to leave, so mind the closing doors please... Royal Oak is the first station that we pass through on our journey to Hayes & Harlington. We are working service 2-Zulu-07, the 11:25 departure from Paddington. Today this service is worked by Great Western Railway liveried 166214 and First Great Western liveried 165123, so that means we are formed of 5 coaches on this first run to Hayes & Harlington. Royal Oak is bypassed by Great Western Railway, Heathrow Express and Elizabeth Line services coming out of London Paddington (Mainline) and Paddington (Elizabeth Line) respectively and is only served by the London Underground's Circle and Hammersmith & City lines, operated by S7 units from the Bombardier Movia family. "We are now approaching Acton Main Line, please take your personal belongings with you when leaving the train. This is your Great Western Railway service to Hayes & Harlington." A crossover of Networker Turbo units is occurring here at Acton Main Line, our first calling point on service 2-Zulu-07. As 166214 and 165123 arrive into the station, service 2-Golf-13 arrives heading into the capital from Greenford worked by Great Western Railway liveried 166208. (remember that unit for later...) Acton Main Line in game is only served by the Greenford and 'Hayes & Harlington' services as the Reading and Oxford services pass through this station on their way to Ealing Broadway, which is the next station down the line. However, in real life, Acton Main Line is not served by Great Western Railway anymore, but instead by TfL's Elizabeth Line, which runs between Reading and Shenfield or Abbey Wood, operated by Class 345 'Aventra' trains. Here is a view of Ealing Broadway station from a YouTuber onboard the train, documenting the new service as they get out at the station. (They would want you to watch it of course, but it has not been uploaded yet ) After stops at Ealing Broadway and West Ealing, we pass through Hanwell (& Elthorne) station as we do not stop there like other Great Western Railway operated services along the route. We do have a clear run but that is until... we come across some adverse signals, which is slowing us down. Turns out we are being pathed through Platform 1 instead of Platform 3 at Southall, hence meaning we had to cross over at Southall East Junction in order to cross onto the fast line, must have been a massive blunder on the signaller's part though... After crossing Southall West Junction back onto the slow lines, we are making our final approach into Hayes & Harlington, where this service terminates and reverses to head back into London utilising the all-new Platform 5 at Hayes & Harlington, which was built with this service in mind. That's 2-Zulu-07 now terminated from London Paddington in Platform 5 as 2-November-32 arrives into Platform 3 worked by 166204 'Norman Topsham MBE' in the updated Great Western Railway colour scheme with the driver looking for the 3-car stop marker so they know where they need to stop along the platform. Below is the list of timings which 2-Zulu-07 stuck to on its journey from London Paddington into Hayes & Harlington. 2-Zulu-07 Timings: PAD: Dep: 11:25 (Platform 8) - OT AML: Arr: 11:29 Dep: 11:30 (Platform 3) - OT EAL: Arr: 11:32 Dep: 11:33 (Platform 3) - OT WEA: Arr: 11:35 Dep: 11:36 (Platform 3) - OT HAN: Pass: 11:38 (Platform 3) - OT STL: Pass: 11:43 (Platform 1) (supposed to stop; Arr - 11:42 Dep: 11:43) - OT HAY: Arr: 11:48 (Platform 5) - OT All pictures are taken by me along the Great Western Express DLC between London Paddington and Hayes & Harlington. Join me in Chapters 2 and 3 to discover if the return journey changes for the better or the worse...
Chapter 2 - The Divide: Now that we have arrived into Hayes & Harlington, our headcode changes from 2-Zulu-07 to 2-Zulu-08 for the return journey back into London Paddington. However, it turns out we do not need all the coaches to head back into London Paddington, so the train will have to 'split up' (or divide in railway terms) into two separate units, now which unit do we go for? Well, there is only one answer, and that is 165123 as it is on the front of the train and 166214 cannot run around 165123 to get into the other end of the consist as we are in a bay platform. So 166214 will be left here for the foreseeable and we will be working 2-Zulu-08 with 165123. DISCLAIMER: It says 166123 instead of 165123 on the unit ends but can we imagine it is 165123 just for these two chapters. We are ready to leave, mind the closing doors please... Now we have detached from 166214, we are a smaller two-coach unit heading into London Paddington working under headcode 2-Zulu-08, which as said in Chapter 1, departs Hayes & Harlington at xx:58 each hour and arrives back into Paddington at xx:15 each hour (in this case an 11:58 departure from HAY for a 12:15 arrival into PAD). See you later 166214... Chapter 3 - The Return to the Capital, the First Way: We are on our way into the capital now, we are stopping at Southall unlike on the outbound journey and we are correctly routed into Platform 4 at Southall (luckily not Platform 2...) and we continue through Hanwell (& Elthorne) again back to West Ealing, where we bump into a familar face... So, it turns out 166208 is now heading back to Greenford on 2-Golf-14 whilst 165123 slows to stop on 2-Zulu-08 from Hayes & Harlington to London Paddington. 166208 had to wait at a red signal for 165123 to pass over the points so it has access to the Greenford branch, as at that time, Platform 5 (the bay platform, like at Hayes & Harlington) was in the process of construction which is why Greenford services used to originate at London Paddington back in the day. We have since left Ealing Broadway and are fast approaching Acton Main Line, with Acton Yard on our left, a Class 43 'High Speed Train' passes 2-Zulu-08 on 1-Golf-29 from London Paddington to Cheltenham Spa, which itself is following 1-Charlie-13 from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads so is on yellow signals and is going slower than normal. Acton Main Line is there and gone which leaves one stop, London Paddington, which after 50 minutes, we are arriving back into having worked a trip of two halves, working a longer service out to Hayes & Harlington and then dividing and heading back into London in an FGW liveried unit, have you enjoyed the journey, put your thoughts below on this one if you have. Now we are back where we started at London Paddington, where this story ends, thank you for coming along with me on this one, would you like me to do another one on a different route and country? Let me know below and tell me what you thought of this story of two halves. As before, here are the timings of 2-Zulu-08 from Hayes & Harlington to London Paddington. 2-Zulu-08 Timings: HAY: Dep: 11:55 (Platform 5) - OT STL: Arr: 11:58 Dep: 11:59 (Platform 4) - OT HAN: Pass: 12:01 (Platform 4) - OT WEA: Arr: 12:03 Dep: 12:04 (Platform 4) - EAL: Arr: 12:05 Dep: 12:06 (Platform 4) - +1 AML: Arr: 12:08 Dep: 12:09 (Platform 4) - OT PAD: Arr: 12:15 (Platform 8) - +3 Why 'A Zulu of Two Halves': I called it that because there are two halves to the story, but in more than one way... obviously the length of the train is the first one but I'll leave the second one to you guys, what do you think the second 'two halves' are? Put your answers below So, was the trial successful? Yes, it was and one year later, the Class 387 units were introduced into service because GWR deemed the service 'practical' and it slotted in between the Greenford and Thames Valley services quite nicely Thank you for reading, and I will look at any replies you all leave for me, whether it is feedback or guesses. I've been TrainGeek08 and enjoy the rest of your day, and I'll see you in the next story, and the GWR Hayes service was a success! The end
Being able to actually use the SD40, SD40-2, and GP38s'. But it's just broken US content so DTG doesn't care.
A 800 Ton Track infrastructure with disassembled pieces in the turbot wagons gets delivered from Omskirk to preston. A 37 will pull the train into the quarry.
I have extra "Free Roam", but this ones are something special... As I explore some areas not easy to access, due to you have to use Free Roam several times: Small freight yards, where you can do shunting 1) DB Schenker Class 66 with Eanos
Were some problems with free ride on MSB? When I've tried ICE1 on that route, I could not make a route on the right side of track, only possibility was to leave Aschaffenburg on the left track, but there were some problems with signalling.
