Gen 8: The End?

Why would it change current performance on things already made?

What? Doesn't make any sense to me. Surely if somebody bought a 4090 then optimization would mean nothing and wouldn't matter at all?? It would just make the game actually playable, that card can run anything and everything you throw at it. Am I missing something here?

Here’s a reality check for you.

DTG will continue to develop content for gen8 because it makes them money.

In another 4 months someone else will make a new thread decrying gen8 & we’ll witness this conversation again.

 

TSW will do what TSW does.
Not sure why it upsets you so much, but you do you.

 

Gen8 systems are 12 years old almost. If, and whenever, DTG decide to make content Gen9 only, it's understandable. Catering for those systems does nothing but hinder development processes.

 

I wouldn't bother responding to this guy. He'll just post endlessly until you give up in exasperation.

 

I've seen similar threads in the past arguing that somehow Gen 8 is holding the game back and some think that by dropping GEN 8 consoles, the game will magically get better when it has been said over and over that GEN 8 is not holding the game back. Most of the arguments against GEN 8 make no sense

This absolutely. It doesn't seem to matter how many times DTG say it, a certain group of people just plow ahead with this pointless argument.

 

The game is developed for PC/GEN 9 and then is scaled back for GEN 8. You and I can keep making those points but you will still have some blame GEN 8 for the problems plaguing TSW. It's like talking to a brick wall

 

Logic went out of the window at the same time that some bright spark created this thread. So I just wanted to join-in on the madness.

My point is that if I dropped £1500 on a 4090 just to brute force TSW5 into maintaining a stable 60FPS, I'd be more than a little annoyed right now, because it still wouldn't fix all the graphical bugs, audio issues, constant microstutters, and all the other core problems that DTG are never going to fix.

But of course, all the problems will magically vanish on the day Gen 8 consoles are dropped according to some people around here.... followed by pigs flying, the price of bacon going up, and a bunch of clowns demanding that DTG abandon Gen 9 consoles.

 

Also the cost of bows and arrows to shoot them down
