Seeing as Milepost said around two months ago that TP was in beta testing, it is reasonable to assume that this route has been under development for two months. With the last four routes all taking him a year to complete, there is still a long way to go on this one. The photos shown so far are are in the area between Butte and Three Forks, meaning that those are guaranteed locations. I hope that it goes from Three Forks to Deer Lodge; that way there'd be more variety and it'd be a longer route, although Butte-Three Forks is already over 70 miles so I think it will be that. Even that though, has good variety, with about 30 miles being mountains, and the rest being either valleys or river canyons. The electric is 99% probable custom-built, seeing as Milepost has made his own steam engines for his last two routes.

What is that other North American Mountain route that uses Old Electric Locos?
I remember looking at it when released but I have forgotten what it was

I'm in theory quite interested, but with routes like this where the stock options are very limited they end up being heavily reliant on the quality of the included stock, and so far milepost's not had the greatest track record.

Its just the Milepost route that's been talked about already, no need to post details.

Sorry, but the DW release is more accurate to the real life CN units. Plus the repaint has the incorrect Sill color and incorrect paint for the unit.

    Hm.
BNSF, UP, NS, CSX, CP, CN - Check (also Amtrak if you count)
Ruling out VIA, it could be KCS, Ferromex, or something historic.
Nasty jab, it must be historic, so that the GP9-F7 expertise can be put into place!
Seriously though, the southern routes sound great, if that happens. I guess scenery is at best a bit arid, although a modern take at Cajon / Mojave would include a lot of green (seasonally), so, interesting tree models be welcome. Past collaboration with CP (dormant for a good while) could enable the use of KCS reskins of Shermanesque stock, which are fairly popular.

It seems to indicate the route has been available (perhaps still is) but just not on Steam.

    Any educated guesses ?

Well, let's look at a few criteria.
    1. HIS has stated previously that it is western route.
    2. HIS has also previously stated that it will include an FT unit.
    3. The special denotation of the railroad not being "on steam."
The FT unit and it being the west already knocks the list down quite a lot, but with the phrasing on the facebook post, the only railroad I can think of that meets all the criteria is the Northern Pacific.

Which route is that? Where is it currently available if not on Steam?

Well giving as the image says “IN THE WORKS” and below it “A TSC route” I would hazard a guess it’s not been announced yet. :)

My speculation was it is a route that is available in Trainz or Run8

It also says Not available for TSC - is there a TSW Route that is not in TSC?

That last phase is a bit confusing.

-Is it a Class 1 that has a 3rd party route not on steam?
-Is it a Class 1 that only has repaints not on steam?
-Is it a Class 1 that has locos on Steam but no route?

The former NP main through Montana was the Montana Rail Link until this year when BNSF took it back over. There are two MRL routes, one of which is a small, slightly fictional version, around 70ish miles, and a large, mostly unfinished route that iirc was the entire route. Both are on RWA.

Interestingly, Milepost's newest route will feature the NP for at least several miles as the MILW and NP ran in extreme proximity for part of the route.

Given the post just above of a Milwaukee Road boxcab from Milepost, we may be seeing a cooperation between HIS and Milepost on a part of Milwaukee's Lines West?

Doubtful. The HIS route is known to include FT units, of which the Milwaukee Road owned none. Only way it happens if there is NP stock included for the sections where the roads run parallel.

Nevermind, should've read the whole thread, it is of course Milepost themselves doing Milwaukee, it's even shown early screens of it further back in the thread

Well, you learn something every day!

I still find it rather unlikely, looking at the photos posted by Milepost so far, everything are his assets and artstyle (of which HIS' visually look very different). The photos posted so far aren't especially clustered either, and with the length of the finished route already given (which is definitely a little short for a collab of the two powerhouse route creators, but on par for Milepost), they cover around a third of it.

Additionally, looking at the stock, all of it is either reused Milepost stock or new for this route, with Milepost's style and detail level (see the yellow hopper or the 50ft boxcar right behind the locomotive in the most recent photos). I would think a HIS collab (especially when it would be including a DTM unit already) would have some of the ancient DTM or GreatNortherner stock that is used extensively in all of the HIS routes.

The only way I could see it happening is if HIS is doing the Northern Pacific's Homestake Pass. Milepost's route is the MILW's Pipestone pass, probably from Three Forks to Butte, and the NP's Homestake Pass also runs between the same two locations, with some of that mileage being parallel/very close between the two roads. Logically, it would make sense for these to be combined if both are being done (which would be awesome).

If HI are doing a Class 1 not previously featured in RSC, there's only one option - Kansas City Southern

And that is now owned by Canadian Pacific, which has been featured. So it's a possibility.

Pretty sure the list isn't limited to MODERN Class 1's, so fallen flags count, and there are alot of them.

OK, if we exclude the midwest and eastern operators of FTs, that leaves us with:
    -ATSF
    -Northern Pacific
    -Cotton Belt
    -Rio Grande
    -Great Northern
    -Western Pacific

Kick out ATSF, Rio Grande, Great Northern and Western Pacific as those all somewhat have routes for TSC on Steam (Though GN isn't in the correct era) Cotton Belt is also Midwestern, (Though its parent is Southern Pacific)

Which only leaves Northern Pacific again.
