It includes two locos, one of which there is a freeware reskin which looks 10x better than the one included, the other of which is incorrectly speced for a late WP GP35. Both have paint scheme errors, and already I see massive mistakes in train formation/operations just by looking at the photos. Don’t forget that the paint included is the 1980s era paint (also incorrectly referred to as Pearlman Green, it’s New Image), and yet 40ft boxcars with roofwalks run aplenty as if its the 1940s. Another Gary quality DLC for sure!

Here’s the link for those who would like a quality New Image U30B: https://sites.google.com/view/train-simulator-mod-archive/clear-tracks/wp-u30b?authuser=0

Still the better option in my opinion, since people would call out advertising reskins as new.
Otherwise agree. In the past I didn't like loco packs selling with 50 minutes of scenario content. Good old ICE 1... :)
Ignoring potential quality jabs, is this the livery people were missing for FRCE?

Not really, Pearlman Green was the skin that was needed. This scheme (New Image) was first introduced in 1979, 1980 on these units (and still not a lot of them got it, as all of them had been repainted into PG 3-7 years prior). Being this scheme locks out a lot of other WP content, for example nothing in Zephyr (orange and silver) can be used in tandem with them, and lots of locos were very different spec wise from the way they were when they were built and can't be used either. The beauty of the Pearlman scheme is that it was introduced to replace Zephyr, meaning that Zephyr/Pearlman units ran in tandem quite often in various frequencies until 1978/78, but it also lasted until the end of the WP and thus ran with New Image a lot.

It's a scenario pack with some extra locos included. Armstrong Powerhouse used to do it all the time when they were in the business of making scenario packs.

I am just glad we still have people developing content for TSC to keep the sim going. Shouldn’t be all be thankfully for that.

Bet the AP packs probably were more accurate to UK operations than HIS's packs do for US operations.

I have no idea how accurate either creator are, but I have thoroughly enjoyed content from both, and that's far more important than "accuracy" - whatever that means - to me.

AP uses period-correct timetables for his scenarios. He sometimes misses a little with train formations, but in general they follow what things would've been like/are like in real.

I'm not gonna lie, when Schnauz went to the Steam page I thought wait.. what.. I already own this?.. Then the realisation that a) I'm dumb and b) it was Schnauz's Steam page...

HIS and consort DTM/TBT et al hardly seem to improve, so much was made clear by Schauz' latest video on FRC mk II
The route looks OK, the repaints only so-so.

But what about the scenarios? Pro quality??

About scenarios, why don't you give an Englishman in the States a chance?
    https://www.golden-age-developments.co.uk/international.html
has a first scenario by GAD featuring a US route and Smokebox's steam locomotives and UP GTEL and other rolling stock in a 5 hours adventure on Wahsatch Grade.

Dedicated collectors and players of US content will have most of not all of the requirements.

My game misses the Britkits stuff, which I consider obsolete.
Perhaps some substitution can be made without detracting from the scenarios?

There are still so many gaps in the rosters of the major railroads, a dedicated developer can still make a buck creating a quality set of heavyweight passenger cars, for instance.

coming from Railroader, I really miss that game's nice looking steam locomotives.

I was playing this and as the loco is moving the cab turns bright blue inside every so often
see 21:17 ans I'm not sure what causes that?
    Otherwise the loco looks good

I've got the C424 from DieselWorkshop already, it's a nice refreshing thing and thankfully not from DTM.

So Steam brings them in new liveries...

I've got the Loco pack. The BN + SP&S costs the same as the pack I already got, so I will need to buy it anyway. (€11.27)

I buy everything this guy makes (whether I "require it" or not) so as to give encouragement even the AS616s. The only fault I can find is that they are an absolute horror to repaint. The small bits are impossible to find. Can only encourage him to widen his range of liveries available. He appears to be listening.

Agreed, I'll buy from Steam though as we'll get additional scenarios then. (And to spare me from manually having to check for updates)

Seems to me arcing at the pantograph's contact shoe.
And the cab has no emitted light occlusion, no model has, as one can see when for instance a signal uses a light casting emitter or a locomotive casts headlight beams.

He has had these liveries out for quite some time. I have the BN, CN, CN2, EL, and SPS, already in my collection. This re-painters nightmare has obviously done on purpose. One way to "protect" your investment and encourage repeat business.

Steam version will also give you instant access to workshop scenarios without LocoSwap in that case, so highly preferred.

Drowning in new content lately, haven't had time yet for this.

It mentions and links the Amfleet EP as a requirement too, do you have it installed?

Agreed, superb stuff. Should come out of the closet and bring all this to Steam. (I'm too stupid to keep track of all the individual webshop passwords, can't check for updates now...)

With a scenario pack included we can get some addon content because there is no workshop available yet. I don't know how long it will get to get enough up votes to enable. Any idea on the price yet?

I have not downloaded this patch to try it.
Not sure how the Amfleet cars would cause a graphics change in the loco cab?

The C-424s look and sound awesome from what I have seen and I would like to purchase the DLC that was just released on Steam. I do wish though the C-424s were bundled into one pack or something similar; having multiple variations of the same loco separated into different packs costing similar prices is something I'm not really a fan of; it's a very Trainz-like sales practice which has kept me away from that game in the first place.

Regardless though; very good to see some much better North American DLC come to the Steam Store from good developers and lucky me they brought this version of their C-424s to bring to the Steam Store as I am a massive Burlington Northern fan!

Why? This is an add-on for TSC and has nothing to do with Train Sim World.

I think the point (not) being made is that TSC HAS steam engines whereas TSW (ohh that hurt me typing those letters) does not but would like them.

Oh disgusting. I have that pack, and boy do I regret it. [EDIT - Jan - Quarrelsome]. Not worth anything really. See, when I made that U25 Suggestion, I wasn't signaling for the Digital Cursed Train Model to jump on it, I was hoping Reppo or even Diesel Workshop would have picked up on that suggestion. If I wanted lackluster U-Boats, I would have asked ATS to attempt to make one for TSC.

They arn't bad by the time you add some MLWAudio, Searchlight Simulations and other enhancements from some Train Sim Community sources. Ya just got to spruce them up a bit.

[EDIT - Jan - Quarrelsome]. If you don't like them don't buy them. Let the rest of us enjoy the sim.
