If I see something in a group I would check out if it is true or at least do some research before posting it elsewhere.

Posting a view for discussion and dissemination is "posting it everywhere"? I posted it here to note I'd seen the view. I never stated I agree with the view, just my understanding of the view. This is perfectly reasonable. Frankly, it's not your job to tell us what is allowed to be posted. You are allowed to rebut a view, on the other hand.

READ what I said - "posting it elsewhere."

I personally don't take everything I read at Face Value and before I post something I try to check the Facts

I posted that I had heard the view. I did not state agreement with the view or vouch for accuracy, just that I had heard the view. This is perfectly allowed. Can we stop disagreeing pointlessly now?

Also, oops on the misread there.

I really should grab these rolling stock packs. Sadly, I can't afford to buy their trains ATM. The BNSF one looks nice, just a bit high for my budget. Still haven't picked up the CP one, either.

I wonder if he's modifying the big boy or building it up from scratch... Either way it looks amazing.

    I'm pretty sure that it's a brand-new model.

Yep, it's almost a brand new model. A few parts are the same as in the Big Boy, albeit with improved texturing and some are modified from the Big Boy (the geometrical modifications are because, even though certain parts share a common pattern, certain dimensions in the pattern vary across the different locos). However, a lot have been made from scratch (that includes the driving wheels, which at a glance might look like the drivers on the Big Boy, but there are so many differences that it's easier to start from scratch).

Yikes!!! Admittedly, it did look great in a 3d model program (the model looks good still). But in-game, definitely something went wrong with the livery texture right there, not a good look for sure (cabs not bad though).

The textures look actually decent to me...except the grill texture in-between the portholes, that just looks wrong.

Sort of like you would not see that on a real loco?

The texturing should be darker on the side grills vs the rest of the locomotive, not brighter.

Yeah, I don't like it on the real thing too, but on the model something looks so off compared to the rest of the grille...Pretty sure BlacknRed is right, it should be darker.

Travel By Train is taking advantage of the BNSF licensing and will be putting a BNSF/BN/ATSF pack on steam in the future, including this GP50.

I'm hoping DTM has the time to make the original DRGW F3s paints for this pack, would be nice to have since that scheme hasn't hasn't made for TS in any "offical" way yet.

Not much to glean from that. Trees, plains...I will say somewhere in Michigan.

Though it could very well be Canadian, I see an evergreen too.

If you look at the bottom of page 1, we had a conversation in which we guessed it's the cascade sub from Dunsmuir to Klamath Falls or somewhere around there.

For the last pictures it doesn't seem to be narrow gauge, considering also the SP locos in the thumbnail in their page.

The route is most likely Southern Pacific's Cascade line, somewhere between Klamath Falls and Redding, and will feature at least the Cantera Loop and Mount Shasta.

Also Mileposts post on their site sets the route in the 80s. The lack of Speed Lettering and Kodachrome units mean its set sometime before 1986.
