Given the issues, it's just as well today is the day Virgin decided to LOVE out on me. "We can't answer the phones right now due to technical difficulties" suggests I won't have my wired internet back for a while, and it would probably take a while to download over my mobile connection. Oh well. I can wait for the bug fixes, I guess.

It's a super common issue on both XBox and Playstation, which happens even with big AAA studios for the massive publishers. Just in the last month or so we've had several high profile examples of it like when the Callisto Protocol accidentally released an unfinished build on Steam at launch.

 

Thanks yea the first inkling I had of issue was when tutorial boxes are blank and was only able to do train tutorial through training centre then discovering tms not working

 

You shouldn’t be made to feel bad because you requested a refund. You bought a product that wasn’t (and it seems still isn’t) fit for purpose.

 

The game is working much better since the patch and I’m seeing the same performance as I do with other DLCs. Apart from the TMS, the horn gets stuck on when you press the left stick.

 

Hmmm, I wonder what is likely to get fixed first.

I can confirm the mouse idea mentioned earlier does work if you plug mouse into Xbox usb then use controller as normal

 

I might check it when I am not tethering my phone and taking 4 hours instead of my usual 40 seconds to download a 5GB patch.

I don’t know if it’s the same for every service but I’m playing 2N41 and I had to close the doors at Queen Street to get the signal to clear. I hope that’s not the same for every service because a driver would never close the doors until the signal is clear.

* The same has just happened at Bishopbriggs. I had to close the doors to get the signal to change. If that’s a wider issue it needs attention because that really does kill the realism.

Not sure if anyone else encountered but appears routemap collectibles not there and when you do door handover passengers pile through guards door before you get chance to open passenger doors on train

 

This all sounds like a mess to me. Has no one looked at this before release oh yea of course not let's just grab the cash

Even now I’ve got the game working there are still so many bugs. Horn gets stuck on unless you operate it manually and every station starter signal is at danger and you have to close the doors to get it to change. How can it be so difficult to get the basics right DTG Alex?

 

Yeah the most users are silly and spam the forum hope the problem is fixed faster but no that's not how its works! I predict the problem with TMS is the same as the PS build so they have to wait for days....

Ahhh another 2GB Patch downloaded .smile on my face installing running starting the 385
pressed TMS confirm smile disappeared Off to play ELDEN RING See ya DOVETAIL.................

 

The 2.18GB update was for lighting issues

Well, NOT off to a good start... Same problem of course with the TPMS screen and the confirm button. ( I guess it does work IF only we could press confirm). Trains and stations look nice but I don't understand why we can go in to the ticket office but not the cafes and shops at Waverly for instance? its all just open anyway. also the working lifts are really really easy to get stuck in! If you stand too close to the door when it's closing, you are glitched in to the elevator shaft and can't get out without restarting the game. Sometimes you can wiggle your way out with the stand/sit left joystick button if the elevator is down and you got stuck upstairs...

Also there is sunlight shining in from the left beside the windscreen where there is no window. Also light and shadows when sunlight pass through trees and stuff is really really pixellated. also I think door warning sounds are ridiculously high! and the trains sound too loud and off when running fast, above 50. so hopefully there are fixes on the way, I was looking forward to the TPMS screen and modern trains, detailed interiors and working elevators, (my son is crazy about elevators ) I got the better looking stations and a glitchy elevator... not much else.

 

Seems like the signal is always red at every station until the time you're supposed to be there, or depart rather. Not dependent on the doors. but if you're early it clears at departure time. at least when I played it.

For all my criticisms earlier in the day, I’ve downloaded the second patch and it’s a really nice route. Still can’t get the TMS to work but it looks like the fix for that is gradually reaching consoles. Also, the red signal issue doesn’t seem to affect Glasgow to Edinburgh services.

I don´t know, if this bug was already reported or not, but in the first class compartment passangers sitting on seats next to the windows appears to be sitting sideways, sometimes two are sitting at one seat mingled together - one sideways and another in the right direction of travel (how the seat is actually situated).

They did in fact manage to fix the TMS before Virgin fixed my internet.

Hmm. From what I heard Jasper say the TMS system would be smart enough to add the next stop to prompts like “next stop is…” and “this train is for….” And such. I can’t get it to work on xbox in time table mode
Also why isn’t this system automatic. Turn it on before departure and then it keep announcing to the final stop of the service.
With the wiggle of the train while moving it’s really hard to hit any TMS buttons while moving using a controller… so non auto announcements make it almost unusable

 

TMS - great in concept but pretty much unusable on a console having to select announcements manually with a very precise cursor landing area whilst also controlling a moving train. Developed for mouse users maybe? It also defaults back to the safety and security set of options when switching back to internal camera from an external view.
