You say that but trust me 197s are a lot less reliable and are about as comfortable as a rock and are usually full and standing because 67s are just as bad in reliability.

You would think that being a shorter route, more time could be put into improving the scenery, particularly lineside detail. Glossop felt especially bare despite being quite short, so I hope DTG at least try to add more detail even if not quite to Niddertalbahn or Blackpool Branches standards.

67s are awful things. How long have the 197s been in service now? Perhaps they are still in the 'teething issues' phase, which does seem to last seemingly longer these days with stock!

If I remember correctly, 67's had one of the lowest tonnage ratings for unassisted load up the Lickey Incline, much less than a Class 47. Probably due to the 125 MPH gearing.

197s started working about a year ago and they sum up modern british traction, uncomfortable, unreliable & terrible rubbish. I agree 67s are not great but in my opinion you cannot compare a 67 with mk4s with a 197 when going from Cardiff to Manchester but recently you would be lucky if one turned up.

Not surprised one bit, they really are horrible things.
I am correct in thinking these are the product of this new Welsh CAF factory aren't I? It is a shame as it really doesn't give the railway a good image when the shiny new pieces of metal are doing a worse job than older, likely more corroded pieces of metal, with a tendency to catch fire.

Yes you are right about the new CAF rubbish, I say we should only build hydraulics and sulzers with mk1s I think the railway would be better off that way but I have a suspicion that wont happen.:(

Exactly, lets hope we get Liverpool Street done with Greater Anglia Class 720's - that would be cool. There is also talk of somebody doing a Class 321 for this game as well according to leaks. That could also run the same line if it was set around 2020.

It's also helps because, whilst they are different trains, the 710 and 720 are similar so it wouldn't be too much work to convert it (I would prefer a 321 though).

Could the 710 on the GOBLIN be layered onto the Bakerloo Line? Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I didn't want to read 162 posts.

It wont be no. They aren't going to go back and add it to a previous timetable, that's their standard MO.

It could be, in theory, and Joe has hinted on Discord that it's something that he might be looking into (no guarantee etc.) as he was the one who developed the excellent most recent BKL timetable.

I wouldn't expect anything on release of GOBLIN though unless Joe has secretly been very busy over the Christmas break.

I meant technically. My understanding is that the GOBLIN is AC, and the Bakerloo line is DC. Do the 710s have dual voltage, or are there different 710s for each line?

Also, I am fairly sure they have layered onto previous routes before. They must have done...

No! You're right! They haven't! I can only think of the forthcoming Koln-Aachen timetable upgrade!

They do occasionally add in new stuff, but that's only when the whole timetable gets redone. Their standard practice unfortunately is not to add layers to previous content. Class 700 on BML for example.

The 710 wouldn't be running on the underground sections of Bakerloo, they would be on the nearby track at the surface stations.

The Class 710 does run between Watford and London Euston, so would stop at all stations between Queen's Park and Harrow and Wealdstone. Do the 710s on the GOBLIN have DC shoes?

The Goblin Line uses 710/2’s which are equipped with both 3rd rail and overhead equipment, same as the 710/3’s. The only 710 which is pantograph only is the 710/1, which runs on the lines out of Liverpool Street iirc.

Yes Your right, for the upminister-romford line the use /1's which are 4 car ac-only units, the /2's are 4 car dual voltage units which run on the goblin and lea valley lines and the /3 is dual voltage 5 car units which run STRICTLY For the Watford DC Line so we should get a /2 for the goblin line

Yes the do, they use the the /2's on the goblin

No, The only difference Between the /2 and the /3 is that the /3 is 5 car dual voltage and the /2 is 4 car dual voltage And Moreover, the 710/1 runs on the lts own line which is 3 miles that can connect from the LTS To the GML With 1 stop in between so your wrong on that statement

It's worth mentioning that for some reason DTG left out AWS on the Watford DC section of the Bakerloo line, I'd imagine that would need to be addressed.

All this talk of the 710 layering onto Bakerloo has me wondering whether a Watford Junction to London Euston route would have been a better choice for an Overground route with the 710. A large part of it is already in the game, and it's a longer, more substantial run between two places of significance.

No doubt you'd get people moaning about Euston being yet another large station with only one local train to serve it, but I don't think that should be a reason to not do it. And who knows? If they did, we'd have Euston, Birmingham New Street, Manchester Piccadilly, Preston and Glasgow Central in the game. Only a matter of time until DTG start connecting the dots they're making...

The part that is in game is a tiny part of it from Kilburn high road to Harrow and Wealdstone.

What they could do is euston to milton keynes then have the 710 layered onto it and have the 350 for the euston to milton keynes

With regards to putting the 710 on Euston to Watford Jct. it wouldn't be just a crazy empty London terminus but an empty WCML as well! Now if they were to introduce the Pendo that would be something. Don't hold your breath.
Sadly DTG are not ones for connecting the dots, they'd much rather do a short linear route which costs them less time and money. As TSW evolves the routes are getting shorter and more basic. Jump in train at point A, drive it a roughly 40 minute distance to point B and done. Get bored and can't wait for the next evocation of a similar product to relieve the boredom, all whilst filling up DTG's coffers. All it's really about nowadays is a single brand new shiny train to play with along a bit of varied track, even that's been reduced from multiple new units to a solitary one. Plus of course the ubiquitous Class 66 on UK routes. Blackpool was a welcome exception, as will the wonderful revamp to Somerset be. Hopefully DTG will prove me wrong this year.

Queens Park to Harrow and Wealdstone is around 7 miles out of a 17 mile route. Hardly tiny.

    Another question (sorry):

Why do the trains on the GOBLIN have 3rd rail shoes as well as a pantograph if they only ever run under OHLE?

Off thread but with reference to mention of a Class 321. If one is being made, I would wager it'll be a pre-Greater Anglia version due to the lack of a GA licence. If we get the Great Eastern, I predict it will be a Network South East version and hopefully will also have a slam-door unit.
The 710s have 3rd rail shoes as the 4 car units also operate on Euston to Watford DC services. They give LO a little more operational flexibility.

In what world is a third of something small?? And it's a lot more than most routes start with, which is nothing at all.

Personally, I don't think the Watford DC line is a good idea as a standalone route. The bit between Queen's Park and Harrow is not much different to the rest of the route (except for the platform length).

However, if it came as part of a bigger thing, such as the West Coast Mainline, then I would be all for it.

For a Pendolino, however, I would much rather a route like Peterborough-Doncaster, where the train actually stops at intermediate stations as well, instead of going direct from one end to the other.

If we were talking about a WCML that includes Watford DC lines, I think Euston - Milton Keynes would be doable. This would include an intermediate stop at Watford Junction for some Pendolino services. I'd prefer to go all the way to New Street but I really can't see that happening with the current mileage that we're seeing on new routes from DTG.

It would need to follow an introductory route for the 350 (such as Chase Line) or 390 (eg. Shap) if they were only going to make one new loco for it though - WCML would need both 350 and 390 to be worthwhile.

Does anyone know when the new GOBLIN Line will be released. I can't wait for it and will they also release the North London Line together with the GOBLIN?

One route on OVERGROUND I would like to see is the Watford D.C. line going from Euston-Watford Junction. It would be a great addition to the baker loo line and Avanti West Coast trains and LondonMidland(London NorthWestern Railway)could also go through. maybe a 350/ 450/730 service from Euston-Watford Junction calling at stations such as Harrow & Wealdstone, Bushey and Watford Junction. Some class 220 221 AND 390 stop at Watford Junction and some go through. if you have the baker loo line you could see those trains and operate the 710/378 as well but if you don't have the baker loo line you could just have those trains as scenery trains. Also class 710s and 378s run as yesterday I used this route and I used a 378. Also if they release this route, in the future they could add in HS2 in an update. This would definitely be one of my favourite routes in TSW and can be priced 25-30 for all the trains. It would be a fair price for such a good route. maybe they could also model the Morrisons and Harrow arts centre etc. when going by Hatch End.

Sorry but you're never going to get a new route with that many new trains for £25 - £30 which is already the standard price for what we get now.

In my opinion this route is only worth it if we get a class 70 along side the London overground stadler unit.

Bombardier/Alstom, not Stadler and Dtg don't have a Freightliner license so a 70 is likely out of the question.
