This is promising. They could put the 710's on the majority of London Overground lines and C2C. I would love both and it would be great if they created the North or West London line as a starter. The Elizabeth line also use similar trains which is great

I rode this line yesterday again just to get a feel for it so to compare to the dlc release when it comes. It's a nice run with a variety of scenery including busy urban stretches where you cross main roads with lots of traffic and especially double decker buses, I hope these are added, through to quieter stretches with both modern and Victorian housing abutting the lines, and small green spaces and some interesting churches and cemeteries. Also several university campus and other notable buildings such as old factories. Quite a lot of new high rise development right beside the line. A picturesque stretch is where the line passes between the vast Walthamstow reservoirs and the Lea Navigation which should look good with the new water. Good distant views of the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf are visible on the raised embankment stretches, also the city. I hope these are added in the same way distant mountains have been added on the Bernina. The terminus at Barking Riverside is very distinctive as it's brand new and the area is only just being developed. The tidal Thames here is very wide and distinctive looking and you can get a decent view as you roll into the raised level station. I wonder will it be modelled with the tide in or out? The EMU is cool. The run lasted about 45 minutes end to end. All in all I think it will be a more interesting and varied drive than Birmingham Cross City. I can't wait!

It's a line I know well and the density of the scenery and sheer variety will be brilliant IF they manage to pull it off. My hope is that they've chosen a fairly short route so they can heap care and attention onto it. I hope this is the case.

Could it be, like Glossop line, they're going to test something new like gaurd Mode or something?

Maybe, although I hope we don’t get gimmicks, just a great route.

It was my assumption they'd do this with Maintalbahn, and we all know how that turned out...

I hope so. I feel like this route is a really hard sell for those aren't interested in modern EMU commuter routes, so it needs something to stand out. As I've said previously, there is absolutely no excuse for not having announcements now after both JT and Rivet have done them, especially on a route where in real life you're hearing them constantly. Maybe fully automatic announcements is the route's selling point?

If not that, then maybe they've just put extra effort into the scenery and train. Hopefully to showcase a new normal for them.

Fully automatic announcements are already here in the Berninaline, and they come in three languages.

    I'd say it's more a want than a need.

What we need is a bug free game (or at least bug fixes when they are pointed out).

    Need? No

    Would like? Yes.

But that's the same on any game under any development studio

But out of all the games in my library, TSW is the one which has bugs that shouldn't even exist.

No guards, only rare LO ticket inspectors and they go from train to train, also actual tickets are rare, mostly Oyster cards and bank cards.

Could still simulate a revenue enforcement officer.
Technically a 'guard' as such, but I found that mode pretty dull overall

Wouldn’t reallyy be realistic as they do not operator solo they operate in groups and couldn’t be done in sim giving the way the ai passengers walk around you wouldn’t be able to fix it to have inspectors.

I never said those games don't have bugs.

I said TSW has bugs that shouldn't be there.

So what games have bugs that shouldn’t be there in your steam
    Game. Name them

    A) I don't have steam, and I was talking about any other game from from any other medium.

    B) I don't need to name them, as its irrelevant.

    C) Those other games do have bugs (which is inevitable when it comes to software). But they don't have bugs such as broken windscreen wipers, crashes that never get fixed etc.

Realistically speaking how many games have windscreen wipers as a function.
Outwith a handful of simulators that doesn't really apply for comparison.

    As for crashes, fair game.

ok so let me ask this as you don’t have steam what other games in your library then.
If you are going to make an assumption then expect to be asked questions on it from people that are curious.
So could you please tell me what games in your library please.

also I have had TSW since day one and NEVER had a crash so that is clearly a problem local to you. If it was prone to crashes we would ALL have crashes. The fact the forums do not get hit with posts about crashes constantly proves it a local problem your end

Again, not naming them. Even if I was going to, I don't have access to any of them at the moment.

Also, just because I have experienced a crash, doesn't mean anyone else hasn't experienced the same thing. It's not always a local problem.

There are no Stadler "Overground" units in London. Stadlers can be found on Merseyside, Tyne & Wear, Transport for Wales and Greater Anglia.

Someone mentioned 710s working on C2C too. The Aventras on C2C and GA are 720s and have 23m-long vehicles with an additional window bay or in the case of the 345s, 3 sets of doors. The Overground 710s have shorter 20m carriages.

Not trolling. Just a poor memory. And I was making a point anyway.

That's as far as this conversation needs to go, we've derailed the thread far enough. Have a good evening.

It doesn't fit as one though.
It would be like saying "TSW doesn't have bugs like 'Enemy combatants coming back to life', therefore TSW is better."

Well TFL dont have guards. I hope they are testing like door release so the doors all release but only open if a passenger goes to it, then closes but doesnt lock after a period of time. I think its present on the BR423 small but cool feature

When talking about "bugs it shouldn't have" it's only fair to compare with examples that aren't limited to a certain genre of game.

As the saying goes; Put the shovel down.

I could draw a comparison by naming examples. But, apart from needing to remember those examples, I can't do anything until at least Tuesday due to work, which by then would be too off topic for this thread.

DTG somehow need to add the Australia plugin to there routes.

It's a free UE4/5 plugin that adds Australian scenary and MUCH more importantly a water texture that is amazing for shallow water.

    Edit: https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/rural-australia

That's the link if anyone wants to give it a go. While it's mostly outback scenary the water material it comes with is second to none for shallow water. I use UE5 and just wanted to share.if

    What?
There’s no way around it, TSW is full of crash-inducing bugs. Far more so than any other game I’ve played (but there are other reasons for that, granted).
Also who writes a forum thread for a crash report? UE prompts you automatically for a report when it happens (which it does!) edit: not for console whoops.

does not crash for me. Perfect example I was on the sim for 6 straight hours yesterday. How many crashes did I get……… zero.

I can honestly say I have had not one crash in TSW 4 since release.

this is also off topic for this thread which is about the goblin line so let’s keep it on topic shall we

Much the same as when people make bug reports on Discord,
or when people make Route Suggestions on YouTube/Discord knowing full well it's utterly pointless,
    etc.
People don't do things as planned.

Not that your idea of "who writes a forum thread for a crash report?" makes any sense considering that:

You must be very lucky if you have never had any crashes in TSW... Not that I believe you anyway, since there are so many reports of crashes and other major issues with the game. It's ironic really, since the very large amount of glitches and inconsistencies were one of the main reasons I gave up on TSW not too long ago.

I've been playing TSW since it came out (although significantly less now than I used to) and at times the crashes are unavoidable. Peninsula Corridor crashed a bit; Great Western Express had various loading issues; Riesa to Dresden and London to Brighton both had consistent crashes in certain locations, and Sherman Hill ran consistently bad. This was on the PS4 version which should have been optimised better. I run it on a PS5 now and the issues are mostly fixed, but not fully. In fact it's hilarious how the PS4 version runs so well on PS5 in 4K supersampling mode, and how badly the native PS5 version runs. I also play TSW3 occasionally on PC as well, and while many of the performance and crash issues were fixed when it came to the list above, new ones were introduced. At worst, some routes just didn't work at all, crashing when loading.

In short, a more powerful system will reduce crashes and other performance issues but will not prevent them.
