I think this is an actual record, where literally the first response to a thread throws it into utter depravity. This one didn't even get off the ground. And all you had to say was 'This is an issue with the core and not the route'...

Then again Rivet really have earned their reputation at this point so the assumption doesn't surprise me in the least.

Oh well, happy to have been here. Great entertainment before work tomorrow. Hello moderators on Monday, have fun with this one!

If its not what you like what they create thats fine but sometimes here on the forums its looking more bullying time by time.... Its not always very respectful. So before you written complaints beware there are people behind a company name and they have feelings. And let me be clear its not only Rivet that received such messages its a larger problem here on the forums. And im not asking to be a fan but more a little respect.

Is this thread really that active? I fell asleep as I got bored of the hostility.

I’ll hold my hand up, now that I’ve seen other screenshots and admit that it isn’t entirely a Rivet issue, so I’ll apologise. But Xander1986 maybe in future, don’t be so hostile towards others.

    I’ve said my part, goodnight.

But the issue with Rivet is that the people behind the products got offended with all of the FCL feedback which was totally fair and then they were blatantly rude to people for providing this feedback. If Rivet put a bit more effort into their content and supporting/fixing things there wouldn't be nearly as much backlash against them.

If you wish to suggest that I have behaved in some other manner regarding Rivet or any other developer for that matter, do please look through my posting history and feel free to enlighten me. I will happily either provide context to a position I have taken, or apologise for any misconduct of my own.

My position on Rivet is as stated above. As for respect, I have never called out a specific member of Rivet's team. I have never even so much as blamed anyone like the developers, the managers or anyone else, because the fact is I don't know what goes on behind Rivet's closed doors. My perspective and comments on them are based solely on the poor conduct of the company overall, based solely on hard fact. And I won't deny that there are some bad apples out there, and I certainly won't endorse bullying of any individual. But I know that many of the vocal members of this forum also share my position, one that is not personal nor the makings of some kind of malicious hate campaign, but which is logical and factual.

It can be more entertaining reading the what we call 'straighteners' on here than on rival football forums sometimes :D

The old medieval joke... Sharpen the axe and get the scaffold ready while we give the prisoner a fair trial!

Then again, Rivet have had more than a few reprieves and seem to have got away with more than their fair share of quality issues.

It would be funny if DTG were to announce Rivet had nothing to do with WCML.

And all this assumption is wrong.

But I tend to think it does point to them. This just smells of WCL, Fife Circle, Luzerne-Sursee, and Scotrail Express with all these issues.

Not to mention the 'click to turn the master key' and 'slide to open the window', which, apparently, is something Rivet do. I wouldn't know, I don't have any Rivet products...

This isn’t just a Rivet glitch. This is common on most routes (DTG and Third party).
I haven’t experienced/seen this glitch recently (PS5). It maybe unfair to just blame it on Rivet only. I know they have a reputation as a piñata though, and the mob love to pick up their sticks and swing at them.

They have opened the door for their own critisisms, buy giving us sub par DLC and big issues on release.

Here is the Rivet tale as I know it so far...less gameplay packs.

Isle of Wight - I thought it was good especially for the 1st 3rd party DLC. But scenery outside the trackside was lacking.

DB BR204 - this is similar to the same state the 187 sits. Good for AI but nothing else. Timetable was pathetic sounds are awful. DTG don't even layer it in as a subsitute on German routes anymore.

Arosa - very bad reception on release mountains looked awful and where are the trees. Overall they fixed the pop in issues and have slowly made fixes to the loco sound and braking but it took a long while. Overall I say an OK route.

1938 - Stock. Terrible sounds not much gameplay. Still broken I believe I don't I uninstalled it as I never used it after the 1st run.

WCL - was originally was just going to be St Erth/St Ives to Panzance with only the 150. DTG stepped in and told them it needed to be longer and gave them the class 36 to be repainted and added.

Then it released and was so bad DTG did not release it on PC and pulled it from the consoles for an additional week the DTG employees could quickly go over and fix it as best they could. 150 still sounds terrible and scenery is very lacking.

Luzerne - Sursee. 1 loco, 1/4 length of a route. Issues with the train to begin with especially the tinted front window, scenery was an improvement. But really little gameplay ETCS not working properly.

Isle of Wight 2022 - This I have no complaints great job but technically a remaster of the original. My 2nd favourite Rivet DLC.

Edinburgh to Glasgow is a disaster still with the 385 sounds and lack of traffic. Overall the route does look nice though.

Berninaline - this one I think they got right. Great route, could have gone to St. Moritz but one of my favourites and my number 1 from Rivet.

And then Fife Circle. One step forward two steps back. Hoping fixes will come with the Leven branch. But lots of good gamplay on this route just back to the scenery issues again.

So the track record speaks for itself.

If you read back further up this thread, I apologised for directly blaming Rivet.

It’s truly shocking that they allow half of this to even be published! E&G is a real sore point because this used to be my local line, and I can’t bring myself to play it anymore due to the woeful running sounds of the 385! If it sounded a little less intrusive on the ears and there was more variety in timetable journeys (IE the LNER Azuma, ScotRail Inter7City services, the occasional 170, freight trains that weren’t a 66), then I’d be more than willing to grind it to complete tasks and collectibles.

One thing Rivet can do well is scenarios.

Strangely enough, apart from the rather shocking physics on the Ge4/4 locos I do like Arosa. They nailed the infrastructure quite well and if you do a twilight run, or snow/fog the mountains aren’t too bad. And to be fair, TSC doesn’t do dramatic scenery that much better. Take any mountainous route and beyond the detailed draw distance you just get a monotone MSTS style flat green texture.

The 1938 stock did get a sound buff after repeat nagging, but still doesn’t have traction deceleration sounds. However much better than before and in the tube sections, under power, sounds quite nice.

IOW 2022, well to me the 484 just doesn’t sound or handle right. Accelerates far too quickly and at times sounds more like a DMU.

Pretty much agree about the rest of their stuff though I never bothered buying any of their more recent content, on principle.
