Yes, I believe it was because of the time period

Yep, whole new timetable with this remaster based on the 2016 summer working timetable.
No changes to the original or Diesel Legends timetable apart from a couple of bug fixes.

I know that GWE is getting a remaster of which we are all waiting for, but I noticed the platforms have texture issues, just wondering is this down to the remaster or is it another problem?

I believe this issue has been ongoing for a while so hopefully the remaster fixes this

The new lighting with the remaster might help solve that issue

And seriously, would you get on a train if your driver looked like this? He looks like he is absolutely hanging from the night before!

Nothing from the remaster is in the game yet but this will be fixed with the remaster as every light source has been updated along with Paddington and Reading getting new light bakes.

Hi Liam, I admit this is me being slow. I know you've said the Diesel Legends will be getting an update and the timetable isn't being done, but is it getting a new timetable or is it the original? Sorry if that's a stupid question.

Either way I'm really looking forward to this.

For Diesel Legends it's just all the stock getting an update, such as suspension, weather effects and overhauled lighting (+ light bleed fixes). The scenarios or timetable won't be updated apart from a couple of legacy bug fixes.

It would be nice if the real 165s could be modelled at some future point. Repurposed 166s are a good stand in for the time being however.

Didn't plan to change anything like that. The bugs I'm looking at are some trains spawning inside buffers/track end causing insta derailment and one where 2 trains get stuck head on.

Good to see the lighting will be fixed with the remaster, Reading and some parts of Paddington have looked particularly bad since we got TSW5. Been watching progress on this from a distance for some time but really looking forward to it, particularly with the third-party timetables that are already available. Good work Liam

What I find really impressive, is the HST sounds from original GWE, really have stood the test of time and still sound really good!

They will be even better as Liam has confirmed the HT overhaul includes the ability to run with the cab doors open, bring in a bit more thrash. Of course even better if we had a retrofit with Paxman Valenta but that's beyond the scope of this exercise.

Biggie sort of question for me. When we spawn into a freight service. Can it be done NOT in the station ie down near opposite Reading Depot or under the flyover for freight that is coming from Berks & Hants / Basingstoke direction? So we get a nice run up into and through the station. The same with HST services so we can utilise the Flyover. apart from depot moves you rarely get to drive down that way unless you decided to stay in and free roam after finishing a run from Acton or Paddington.

Also hope that Acton has a few more locos / wagons in there.
Looking forward to the release :P

Sorry but I'm dumb ass when comes to this stuff so if he is doing a new timetable. Does that mean a whole lot of new jobs as well as the old timetable jobs.

I think the new timetable will make you happy given what you'd said here :)
Freight services I always try and start/end in logical places outside of stations, such as junctions coming onto the mainline or somewhere a service may be held for a few minutes irl. GWE has a lot of places where this applies.
For the HST these will remain station to station except for the odd ECS services that I can think of.

Oh I know. It would either have to be artistic licence or as part of the Diesel Legends.

They don't. Don't know about GW but the East Coast sets used to have a slip of paper in the door windows showing the stopping pattern.

I've just had a look on google images I can't find any images of it for the HST so it may have just been the 225s and my memory playing tricks.
    https://www.flickr.com/photos/65344061@N06/26582835024/

The one image I did find just appears to effectively say welcome aboard.

I do know however that Grand Central HSTs had a route map in the toilet window, those sets only ever did the London-Sunderland route I believe

Yes the HST’s only ever used paper window labels on the drop lights to show destination and calling points and towards the end the TOC’s didn’t bother, presumably to save costs. No PIS in the saloons either, very much 1970’s tech in that respect which was never modernised.

I think and hope so. It wouldn't make sense to announce it during the TSW5 reveal otherwise. I'll be cheeky and say I kinda wish they held off announcing it till it was a few months away at most but that's just me.

GWR used them right until the very end, usually found in the end window in carriages.

I think he means that the original time table will remain separate, should anyone wish to use it. Like of like east coast way and cathcart. They got new timetables, but they didn't overwrite the old ones.

I assume you'll select the timetable you want to use when you go into timetable mode. Various routes do this.

That's my bad for any confusion caused but hopefully this clears it up for anyone looking for a definitive answer.

The original timetable will remain with the new timetable being added as a 2nd timetable, so you will be able to play both the current 'Great Western Express 2016' timetable and the new 'Great Western Express 2017' timetable.

For those of you who own the Diesel Legends of the Great Western pack, you will still see the original 'Diesel Legends of the Great Western' timetable along with the ''Great Western Express 2016' & 'Great Western Express 2017' timetables.

Hide? Thats just the beginning of TSW6s new big core feature. Instead of painfully do a time consuming walk from one platform to another via the downpass, the teleport cone as a new feature allows players to cross instant. So no need for the walkway gimmicks.

Seriously, im ok with route hopping as kind of the unfulfilled alternative to extensions / mergers, but having that LOVE symbol in the middle, ruins my immersion everytime from new.

Suggestion: why not making the route hopping point on a ticket office or a convenient location? Npc with a sign or a special board on the wall, or a bus station nearby?

Its solved in the worst possible way in terms of immersion. Cheap dmn glowing comic cone...

Speaking of the Diesel Legends pack, will the scoring issues on the timetable be fixed?

As it stands currently, it's impossible to get a Gold medal on any express runs with the Western due to the removal of several Go Via markers that each awarded +500 AP. When they were removed, I don't think the scoring thresholds were lowered to accommodate the loss of the additional AP you gained from those markers.

It's not planned as part of the remaster. However, I do have some bug fixes for that timetable so I can look into updating the scoring.

    This sounds fantastic!

One question I can’t see that’s been asked/answered (although I might have missed it) will the HSTs have appropriate nameplates? Maybe not the ‘Castle’ plates they wore later on, but some from around 2017?

I've had a thought - perhaps a long shot but could there be any chance of 43002 and 43185 making appearances in their anniversary liveries - both were done in 2016.
