Just gone back to the top of the thread & yes it does appear the HST pack has the barriers & the 387 pack is the 66 liveries & new HHA wagons. The barriers not being with the 387 is odd, but presumably the 66 & wagons are Freightliner liveried which does make sense for a GWML & SWML stock themed pack.
These already exist. They were released with the remaster. All unbranded, there were 4; C2C, GX, GWR and HX
Given c2c is now publicly owned (and DTG have a good relationship with the DfT), I wonder if we will get an official branded variation... Would be nice to see it layer onto the Gospel Oak to Barking Line to give Barking a bit more of a busy feeling!
It seems logical to me that all the versions of something already available in the game are gradually introduced. If it's done by a developer that can take an old model and improve it with new features, I think it's a good thing, it fills the gaps and is reasonnable in terms of development costs. Would love to get a 150/1 btw... But I'm delighted that there's still some new stuff coming too (Class 70 and 90), and I'm curious to see how it will be with the 807 (if it's just a "reskin" or not...) !
They did have the interior colours changed but nothing more than that. IRL there are more substantial differences such as different moquette and other details.
The 387 does the London Paddington to Cardiff Central runs, then there's an ECS move where it reverses onto a different platform at Cardiff before heading back towards London. So the only playable services that would make sense would be those ECS runs on Cardiff, It goes off map after that.
I was actually trying to replicate that service in free roam on Cardiff but to my surprise, it seems the overhead wires at Cardiff Central are just for show and aren't actually functional as I couldn't get power from the wires. Not sure what this means for the 387 pack but that might throw a spanner in the works. Feel free to test this yourselves and see if you can get any AC power at Cardiff.
You see, the OHLE in all routes IS just for show, it is the track that is programmed to allow certain trains.
AC power at Cardiff wasn't set up (unsure why), but it's something I noticed before and will fix in time for the 387 pack along with the missing wires over the siding.
Hasn't Southern gained some too, or are these currently still GX livery, used on Victoria - Eastbourne route of Brighton Mainline / East Coastway line. Not in game though I'm sure. Seen recently on Rail Record (other sites are available).
There are some GatEx and C2C units running together in the Brighton Line, but the latter have Southern logos applied to them.
The issue is price- since it's just a fill-in-the gaps train, mostly AI since the services are really too short to drive, I can't see spending more than five bucks on it.
Post you responded to was about liveries we have in the game currently, not liveries that 387 has ever had irl.
Just interested as to why it didn't at least appear in today's roadmap graphic, in the 'Further Down the Tracks' section (Though I hope it makes it in the next 3 months). I thought as well there would have been a little talk about it in the article,
If was never formally announced. Only a short remark here and there that it may be in the works. So therefore it's not on the roadmap (yet )
To update on this, we would like to share more on the pack and hopefully we can in the upcoming roadmap. The main reason why it wasn't shown in the latest one is that we didn't have the art signed off or approved by the license holder yet. The process can take some time and we didn't want to talk about it in detail if we couldn't show it off at the same time
Appreciate the response Liam but this really should have been mentioned on the Roadmap stream on Monday. This is one example of why the Community get so frustrated with DTG. Also, why could none of the numerous CM’s have communicated this?
Liams obviously got a voice of his own, so I'm not trying to speak for him in anyway shape or form... But I do feel some of these comments are a bit unwarranted. Liam hasn't said one way or another on when they 387 pack will be released, all we know is it's going on behind the scenes and that is that. Liam will update the community when it's ready to be released and he will be the person that dictates that and no one else. I don't understand why some are getting frustrated about things that have never been promised. If there was any progress it would of been mentioned in the roadmap, and obviously its still work in progress. There's nothing more, or anything less to it. Liam is the one that decides when his products are ready and owes no one an explanation. Liam quite kindly posts and interacts on the forum to keep people upto date and they should be grateful for that alone. This "oh it should have been mentioned etc... " attitude sounds like particular forum members have a grievance over something that is quite frankly none of their business to be dictating about. It will be released when Liams ready to release it. He has never give a specific timeline, it'll be ready when it's ready. If it's not on the roadmap, if it's not been mentioned in an official capacity, just leave the bloke alone until it's ready to talk about. I think it's fair enough to ask questions, but to have this attitude where you believe the developer somehow owes you an explanation for something that frankly isn't your business to be moaning about is pretty poor. Also in regards to other CMs and DTG staff, they constantly say "if it's not on roadmap then we won't talk about it". They also haven't done anything wrong in this situation either.
This is just it, right? It hasn't been officially mentioned at all, and we have already been given more info than you could normally expect. And yet there are still people who feel entitled to more.
Liam said that the livery artwork had not been approved…that’s all the senior CM had to say on the roadmap. When things appear on the roadmap only for them to disappear without trace the paying public rightly start asking questions. Your defensive tone is the typical response from you as always.
You're welcome to your own interpretation of the events. And I'm welcome to mine, which I stand by. I don't think there's any harm in people asking generalised questions, but when it turns into comments saying "oh this should have been mentioned on the roadmap, and this should have been this that and the other" it just comes across as unnecessarily demanding. My point is simple, I'm sure once there has been progress in its development it'll be on the roadmap (or alternatively Liam will drop some personal dev shots). But to tell someone how they should do their job, or tell them what should be on the roadmap just comes across as overly demanding. They know what they are doing, and they've intentionally held something back from the roadmap because it wasn't ready. I'll happily call out DTG when I feel it's necessary or if I feel they've made a pigs ear of something. But in this case they don't have anything to answer for, Liam has given some small updates about the 387 pack on the forum, but it's not significant enough to feature on the roadmap. They know how to do their job and when progress is made it'll be shared, I just don't appreciate the demanding tone some people have on here. No wonder Devs can be quiet or not want to interact with the community when some of these attitudes show no sign of improvement.
Just to add to my original comment, the GWR 387 was revealed on stream at my request due to the possibility of it leaking in a GWE update. We weren't ready to share a full article at the time, nor did we have any images approved to show, but I wanted to at least have its existence acknowledged before it leaked. Hopefully that clears up some of the confusion on why we announced it the way we did without a full roadmap article
