Hello everyone! Tomorrow at 6pm UTC, I'll be driving the new HST Farewell Pack alongside Grumpdog Games' Liam. This will be Liam's first preview livestream and my first time driving on a proper preview. This is the official Q+A thread for the HST Farewell Pack Livestream. We'll do our best to answer your questions during the livestream, but we will be down a Matt Peddlesden, so please keep this in mind when watching the livestream. Before you ask your question, be sure to check out our coming soon article in case it already answers it for you! Coming Soon Article Please keep this thread related to questions only. Any discussions can be had in the separate coming soon article.
Will a list be made available as to what rolling stock can be hauled by the Power Car and Mark 1 Barrier coach?
If I remember correctly, on the Feb roadmap stream it was said (though not written in the actual roadmap) that a gwr 387 pack would be released alongside the HST farewell pack, has that changed then?
Would we see these layer onto the West Somerset add on on the mainline sections AI traffic near Norton Fitzwarren? Also could we possibly see something similar with the CrossCountry HST celeb sets for the Riviera line in the future?
Dose apt work know will it be enabled since it's been missing on original hst for the great western hst
It would have been nice to get a Paxman Valenta sound set version, would have guaranteed a Day One purchase from many, including myself, who would otherwise be content to wait for a sale. Please explain why a Valenta version was not included.
Anything with a buckeye or hook should be able to couple. Any HST should have full compatibility with control of other attached units. There have been audio improvements and new interactive elements added to the HST. No ATP though. Maybe if GWE get's ATP added it then it would be something to look at.
No Valenta version as this pack is based on the later GWR units. Personally I like the idea of a Valenta HST, but as it's own pack where it can be the focus rather than as an extra.
I think I read that the pack have toilet splashes before but can't recall where - Is it implemented and how does it function?
Can't wait for this been waiting a long time can't wait to experience the intercity which I've known for ages thanks a lot dovetail games team.
These can be seen on any GWR/FGW Mk3. Can be tricky to tell when it will happen but as long as the train is in service and has passengers on board you should see it, although the timing is random so can be rare.
Will there be any fixes or changes to GWE alongside the release of this pack? Will the barrier coach be compatible with a lot of stock using formation designer?
Will we see a lner hst and east Midlands trains hst with the buffers in the near future to boost the on midland mainline and east coast mainline also with the different headlights variation and cab different at all liam
Will be a day 1 purchase for me, as regards the valenta version maybe it could be included as a 80s br blue pack along with the deltic and class 50? Plenty of people have requested these so im sure they would sell quite well. Something along the lines of the diesel legends pack maybe?
Will these liveries be able to sub in place of midland mainline HSTs or only on timetables where the GWR HST is available? I know it’s not prototypical but it would be nice to drive these anywhere a HET is timetabled even if it’s not AI
A couple of questions if I may. With regard AI usage…. 1. Do the unique liveries only ever spawn once as AI? 2. If you select one of the unique liveries as your own player service will it stop that particular livery spawning as part of an AI service? Thanks.
I too would have hoped for a Valenta version; and with due respect to the creators, I expected a matching rake of Mk3 coaches with each livery variant. I’ll wait until they’re in a sale before I buy.
I'm going to buy this day one. Not only because I want to play those scenarios and specific services, but also in support of Liam for the work done on the brilliant GWE remaster.
Primarily Riviera and GWE, that's where the scenarios and extra services are, but it's also been mentioned the power cars sub for the GWR power cars wherever they are, so they should also appear on Birmingham Cross City, Edinburgh Glasgow (158 timetable) and Brighton Mainline (AI through Clapham Junction)
Does amount of passengers / date & time matter (in an ideal world a Friday night one would be frequent and some of the splashes multi coloured, but I am a deeply troubled individual) Also unless I'm missing it in the announcement, it's not clear how many new services are being added in each timetable?
Apologies if this has been asked before — why was the decision made to only do liveries for the power cars and not the coaches?
Maybe a more general question, but how does substitution work? What are the odds, for example, of seeing one of these special power cars in timetable mode? And as they are unique, do they each only appear once in timetable mode?
Each power variant has a commonness value which decides how likely an AI will sub into it, with the value being determined by how many of GWR's HST's ran in that variant in real life. So a common variant would be the power car with the GWR vinyl logo and something like the IC Swallow being a lower chance as it is a unique livery. You shouldn't see multiple of the same unique liveries in a service but due to TSW's limitations the player can spawn in what ever they like and there's a chance the AI may still pick that same livery.
Yeah. If you wanted to do a proper retro version you’d have to change stuff in the cab and use the different engine types etc
Im guessing that they just sub in on the hst timetables so have more to choose rather then just the designs we have.
No they wouldn't be as it represents the farewell of the HSTs on mainline GWR services, which were slam door up until the end. The sliding door Mk3s were only implemented on the 'Castle' and 'Inter7City' sets when HSTs were relegated to those services. Well, there was also the XC HSTs which also had MK3s retrofitted with sliding doors, but again this wouldn't be relevant as the DLC is focused on the GWR sets up until the last days of operation.
Is the current GWE HST compatible? If not it's something I can ask other devs about to get support implemented to both.
I recall that all the trains on the original GWE were compatible, but not all were on the GWE remaster at launch. I will do some checking. We have to ask these days because some recent routes have omitted this important feature. DTG seem to have lost interest, especially where 3Ps are concerned.
