Nothing to confirm at this time YET but Rhys who worked on the WSR and Cathcart remaster audio has spoken to me about doing the same with GWE.
I was also going to ask about the sounds - the EMT HST has quickly become a firm favourite with the AP VP185 Sound pack, is there a possibility their MTU Sound pack will be used for the remaster? It’s kind of a shame, but also totally understandable, that anything more than a polish and rework means ripping it up and starting again. I also echo that 43002 may be the something blue? Or a Valenta HST in BR Blue for the Diesel Legends timetable?
For real apart from being easy to drive, they shake themselves to pieces on the tracks and thank god we dont have to experience that in the game. I am genuinely curious how anybody likes the IETs from a passenger and driver perspective. Realistically speaking from a driving perspective (in game) yea sure its easy to drive but also boring since its really just a combine throttle train and we have way too many of those in TSW. How does anybody like the IET by passenger's stand point??? They are literally commuter trains but placed in a position where they arent supposed to work for with horrid iron board comfort level of a seat which you shouldnt be sitting on for less than a couple minutes without your back breaking. Sorry but seriously HSTs are way more interesting than these horribly built trains.
I've been on a few rides on the LNER ones, and they're not too bad imo. Obviously, if there's opportunity for the Class 91 that will always be my priority
They both ran in those colours for some time though. It would be a nice nod, not least to Kenneth Grange, even more so as 43185 was named as well.
I adored the HSTs (especially the when they had the valentas) and still adore the other older rolling stock at my TOC, even in their reduced numbers, but even with all their drawbacks the 80xs are undoubtedly lovely trains to work on and I would certainly say I like them as they are a much, much nicer working environment. I even find the passenger saloon nice enough and as much as I miss the HST's bouncy seats, the 80xs seats aren't that bad, and I sit much better in them. Above are solely my own personal views on them from my experience and not me trying to keep people above me happy!
I too like the Azumas, although my experience with them is limited (London to Grantham a couple of times). They look like a proper Intercity train with their pointy noses, doors on the carriage ends, and coaches that IMO from the outside look kind of like Mk3s Also their seats are comfy.
That's exactly what I'm thinking (and hoping) for.. not only would it be nice to have in general, it would also (as you said) pay tribute to Sir Kenneth Grange. My question is, will this "blue thing" come as a paid DLC or will it be free with the GWR remaster? I'm assuming it's the latter but not much was said so I don't know.
But yea arent they basically iron board seats but in a different shape? its a no padding seat at all how is it any comfortable to sit on? ngl i am agreeing with this. If it werent for their seats that didnt stain their reputation (plus other things) at least the IET looks okay.
All the padding I need comes from my bottom. I find the Class 700 comfortable, so this is the only reasonable explanation.
Okay, thanks for letting me know! I was a bit confused for some reason, the more I think of it, the more obvious It becomes, that obviously it's a part of the remaster. Thanks again!
I (and a lot of other enthusiasts) were always going to dislike the IETs simply because they replaced trains I grew up with. That's how it always works. When the HSTs were introduced fans of the Deltics and Westerns probably hated them, and when the Deltics were introduced fans of the Gresley Pacifics probably hated them in turn. And on and on it goes... I think the longest I've spent on one is around 2 and a half hours (York to Edinburgh), although living close to Cardiff I'm very familiar with them on journeys on the mainline to Paddington. They've been around for several years now and I'm still not 100% sure how I feel about them. On the one hand from a comfort perspective it angers me how much of a downgrade they are not only from the HST, but any 125mph DMU/ EMUthat came before. Say what you want about the Voyagers being overcrowded (in my experience not as often as their haters would have you believe), but they have a really pleasant interior with lighting that isn't blindingly bright. On the other hand, they put up some thrilling performances when you have a keen driver, and there's a comforting familiarity I feel with them that I don't get with many other trains. And familiarity in itself doesn't automatically mean I like a train. I was even more familiar with the Pacers and from as early as I can remember right up to their demise I always despised them.
Will the distant scenery be improved with the remaster? Currently if you look left or right, the scenery ends pretty quickly compared to newer routes.
Will the track and ballast be left as is in the remaster? I quite enjoy the look of the track on this route. Especially with no 3d ballast popping in infront of the trains.
Would be nice to have a backdated version for the diesel legends timetable. Now is the chance!! Dtg go the extramile.
They are nice trains to ride, I've been to York and back a few times, I just wish the ECML had a proper terminus station so timetable mode would be more interesting. Maybe when they bring out the 91 eventually they'll extend and start it at Kings X so the 700 can join the fun too? Day 1 purchase. TSW6 maybe!
Does Guard mode in GWE Remaster mean we have to go and slam shut all the doors shut before departure, then get to the back for dispatch and find out someone has opened a door again?
I know you can’t say too much on the subject, but that’s as vague as a response as they come. The community likes bread crumbs, give us some please. We’re not asking for the full loaf.
The problem is you lot are WAY too good at solving puzzles. I could post a 2 x 2 pixel image of a blue part of the body, and you lot would have the exact running number, probably what area of the route it's on, and who was driving it at the time in reality. Besides, it's not for me to tease these things, that's for Alex and JD, i'm just here to stir the pot and make their lives harder / more fun :-D Matt.
Can't say I've really noticed that, mind you I'm in the cab 99% of the time. To be fair, I don't think the foliage needs touching at all, it actually is pretty decent as it is - very natural, realistic looking. If you comapre it to later routes, I think the earlier stuff is much better in that respect (I'm thinking NTP,TVL,ECW etc). Some of the later stuff seems to suffer from plonking down trees with no surrounding lower bushes which lends to bare-ish lineside foliage. Not all the time, but especially noticeable at times in ECML for examaple. Anyway, looking forward to the new timetable, but I have a feeling the signalling won't be touched which is a shame as it doesn't have any proper approach control.
Oh my word! Just amazing! Wow! Those pictures look stunning, especially love that pic of the blue HST, even if it understandably has no branding - but that's far better than no FG... blue trains :p
Wait already picture leaked? So we are actaully gonna get the FGW then? I guess DTG have regain First Group License?
I worry about this remaster, because i already thought that GWE was the best route in the game, and now it will just blow everything else out of the water!
Distant scenery and pretty much all scenery has been gone over. Especially noticeable on Hanwell Viaduct where you can see quite the distance
ah i see HOLY WOW. Thats a lot of stuff... and oh god not the 387s... hey at least we get the 387/1s now. (Wait is the 387/1 a creator club creation or?)
The class 387 is unbranded, and a reskin of the Gatwick Express version. London Commuter is required to activate the layer.
YEAH. Unbranded things! Without jokes - it's what we need. If there is 0,01% chance of getting the license until 2050, then the unbranded trains are a much better solution vs no trains at all.
are you sure?? its posted by somebody not from the staff... I just want to be double sure cuz their images didnt have the TSW5 trademark in the images.
It's official. It has been mentioned in part one of the roadmap article published today. Going Electric! The Class 387 will appear on the route in unbranded green, airport and Gatwick Express liveries, complete with appropriate numbering and making use of the OHLE between Paddington and Hayes & Harlington
