Living near the route for over 50 years, it has become a bit boring for me. What would liven it up and restore my gameplay is if DTG included the Thames branch extensions at Slough, Maidenhead and Twyford to terminals at Windsor, Marlow and Henley-on-Thames. Some would also like the Greenford ext too. Come on DTG give it a go!!! This would make the route so special and one of the best in the game. If Just Trains were doing it, I feel that they would include it.
Pretty hyped for this TBH - it’s my line into London these days, and Southall shed currently sticks out like a sore thumb in the game. Absolutely loving the new screenshots Of course, if I could do the entire Bristol-Paddington trip without the 801-induced sore bum that’d be a proper game changer
The images were posted by somebody, but the news I said came from official channels (the roadmap part 1).
i mean like the sides of it. Does it still contain the purple stripes on the sides just without the heathrow express lettering. Or is it just. an entire grey body of 387 with purple doors and thats it?
DTG Liam With the HST and the new conductor mode, will the new guard panel close the doors, or do they have to be shut first?
DTG Liam , one last question, will the interiors of the 387s be different to the GX 387. For example, the 387 gwe will have the green seats. And the HX 387 will have the purple seats?
DTG Liam. The work you have put into this remaster is truly amazing. Have you some surprises to announce on release day?
I second that, it could have been consigned to just the first route they released, but the number of times it’s been revisited - and all the things that have yet to be updated to a route that’s 7 years old.
I was just thinking with the unbranded trains... since its not something we've seen before... are the changes focused on the exterior or did the interior get modifications too? Will the grey and green 387 have the red seats from the donor GX train or something different? I know the FGW interiors exist from the old models so I am assuming an unbranded version of that interior is what is in the blue HST and 166.
DTG Liam , I know its probably a bit to early to make a suggestion about any branch, but I might suggest a branch that is really close to one station. The branch I'm suggesting is the Windsor and Eton central branch. I think this one would probably be the better branch out of the others as Windsor and Eton central is 2 miles from Slough on the branch, this could help utilise more 165s on that section. And I have been on it and it is a really fun part of the gwr network. Hope you like the suggestion.
Can't add any new branches as it would require removing a portal and rebuilding every single scenario/timetable/tutorial in GWE. That and modelling scenery even 2 miles takes a very long time for 1 person.
Thank you, just realised it would mean a lot more work especially on the Windsor side which in reality is quite compact
DTG Liam , by the way, the screenshots looks really good and recognisable, well done. For a route that felt abandoned and innacurate, you took that job of bringing it back to life. It almost feels like I am going back to my childhood with the d stock, thats how i feel. The whole route looks fabulous and accurate to what i visualised back in 2015-2017, i am so looking forward to playing it in tsw5. well done Liam, keep up the good work
ah thats gonna be fun. also unbranded heathrow express. I am seriously curious how it looks like and do they still have decals.
I personally don't like the unbranded Heathrow 387s. It spoils the realism too much in my opinion, 387s didn't operate Heathrow Express trains until the 2020s.
They started in 2018 so not too far off. They can be disabled though via the new timetable layer tool if you'd prefer not to see them.
A great effort once again Liam. Thank you for your ability to make things so much better and enjoyable for us all.
I've been wondering that myself. Thank you! Having different seating will really look good and add some variety. Very excited for this!
Nothing I'm afraid. I think I may have confused my coach types before so there's only 1 first class Mk3 still
I can understand that Liam, but thank you for all the tremendous work you put into these remastered routes. Hopefully DTG will add the branch lines at some stage, would be happy to pay £30 if they did as it would make a remarkable route.
I support the decision to release unbranded rolling stock if there is no possibility to obtain a license. I am sure and hope that a group of enthusiasts will very quickly apply brands to the bodies of rolling stock and we will be able to enjoy them.
I too have nearly 50 years living nearby. However, the branches (which should also include Brentford and Colnbrook) would require a full blown rebuild from scratch. This is a remaster as opposed to a rebuild. Due to the way this route was built, extensions are not possible as much as I would love to see them.
I am fairly new to TSW and I have a question about the UK main line routes in the sim. We have LNER, GWR and soon WCML, are there plans to continue these main lines onward over time. Will LNER reach from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh linking with Scotrail. The same could be said for GWR reaching the West Country and WCML reaching Glasgow, again linking with Scotrail.
I would very much like the whole ECML to be recreated, but unfortunately DTG probably won't confirm if there are plans like that. The phrase they often use is 'if it is not on the roadmap', we won't say anything about it.
Wouldn't make sense as we recently got a modern version of ECML, just needs loco add ons. I would much rather eastcoastway getting a remaster.
ECW is a superb choice but each suggestion will require the personal desire of Liam or others to do the necessary work.
I can see the desire for remastering, over time DLC from TSW1, TSW2 and TSW3 will be outdated by advancements in the base game. Many will be players favorite routes and almost certainly local to where they live. This needs to be an ongoing process. It is good to see input from Liam here.
Maybe you were confused about the Skyhook's EMT MK3s? Because their MK3s have their gangway doors in both ends are openable (can we have this function on the GWE MK3 in the remaster?). and here we have me putting 2 GWE MK3 TFD right with each other pretending a consist with 2 TFDs in like a 9 or 8 carriage. And as i mentioned before hand. No matter how you put the 2 TFDs. There is always a carriage you cannot access just by walking through the gangway and its annoying that this is the case. Would be great to have the option have the door be openable like the EMT MK3 ones or just have the door outright removed to allow accessibility when using TFDs in formation designer. That would be really great.
I'm not saying anything about remastering the ECML, neither was the poster I quoted. We were talking about having more sections of the routes so we have the full length.
