My recommendation is for the Hallam line to get a route for Sheffield to Leeds between 80’s to 90’s to go along side the transpenine route already in game so we can use the line hop features to increase route lengths. It would make a great addition because it’s a branch line that connects multiple mainlines for example if midland mainline got an extension up to Sheffield we would be able to run trains from Leicester or Nottingham to Leeds or Manchester through line hops also if the Hallam line got the penistone line extension it would let us do the full Pennines from Leeds to Huddersfield then back down to Sheffield. For rolling stock we could have first gen dmu’s like the class 105, 108, 110, 111 and 114; second gen like the 141, 142, 144 pacers and the 150 and 156 sprinters; also passenger services run by class 31, 45, 46, 47; freight services were also run by the class 76, 20, 37, 56, 58 & 60 and then yard pilots run by class 08 services and for some of the yards in that time period there were Janus yard shunters, class 02, 03 and 04 were also used in ncb yards alongside Hunslet 0-6-0’s and there were also the class 13 used in Tinsley yard and there was usage of the class 09 shunters so overall Hallam line and penistone line between 1980 and 1990 would add a wide variety of new stations, yards and rolling stock two examples of scenarios as well would be the deepcar steel run and Tinsley marshalling yard hump duty
