The Northeast Corridor have a freight service called Fast Mail in the 20th century and stopped service in 2002. The train runs between Washington and Boston. The eastbound had passenger service and the westbound was freight only. The train splitted to two at New Haven and one went to Springfield, one went to Boston.

Apart from this, there are so little information on the net. What is the consist of the splitted trains? How it marshalling at the New Haven? Anything know more about this? Or witness that the operation? Thank you.
