I didn't know they still had a royal train. Is there still a line to the palace? As a lover of both trains and tradition, this seems a right and proper way to make one's final earthly journey.
Yeah there's a royal train. Although it's not what you would expect. It said it will be making the journey along the ecml to St Pancras .
Just looking for a pic and see an article saying the plan to bring her home on the royal train has been scrapped. Here it is anyway.
Can I also just say to our American friends that, despite being a republic, in the main they have always been in admiration of our Queen and that is something to thank them for. I hope that continues for the reign of King Charles III. And BTW, Meghan was warmly welcomed at Windsor today. Don’t believe everything you read in the press. Aw...that's too bad. I bet her father was carried by train for his last voyage, as would have been appropriate. It would have tied things together so nicely. Is that a class 67 freight engine and some slam-door Mark I cars? Indeed, I've heard that there are more Americans who like the Queen than there are Brits. (That's likely due to the fact that we have more than four times the population, as the observation deals with raw numbers, not percentages.)
Yeah looks that way lavish inside though. If I was a royal it would be the most luxurious pullman coaches there are being pulled by the mallard (gold plated of course) or something similar.
DTG should do a TSW3 Royal train to commemorate the Queens death I would buy TSW3 like a shot but I'm not sure if DTG would want to.
I don’t think anything has actually been confirmed whether the Queen will come back by train or air yet. Hopefully her final journey ends up via rail though. There’s even a perfect locomotive to pull the train. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LMS_Princess_Royal_Class_6201_Princess_Elizabeth
I think it's unlikely, though it is at least in the realm of probability. (They did do a special Platinum Jubilee engine for SoS after all.) The thing that makes me say "not likely" is the need to do interior modeling.
