Featured Dovetail Games How To Download Tsw 5 & Compatible Content

18 Sept: At the moment on Xbox Series X, of the 67 DLCs I have in TSW4, only 39 are recognized under TSW5, the rest ask me to repurchase. Although, I think, the system should see/read that I have already installed the requested DLCs for TSW4. Precisely for this reason, at the moment I have both titles installed (both TSW4 and TSW5 with all the DLCs for both games).

If it can help, I have the Deluxe Edition with Flixtrain and Br 390 Pendolino.

 

It would be nice to have a list of what DLC is already in TSW5 format and which are not. I tried today for the Goblin DLC but it still says TSW4. Seems like only a part of the DLC is available to download as TSW5 DLC.

 

Yes think I might have inadvertently cancelled one of the downloads from the list as it said TSW4, even though I don’t own TSW4. Well as the PS5 seems to be crawling along even slower than the PC and Steam version was, will be a while before I can double check what’s installed and what’s not.

There really needs to be a better way of managing this.

I Play TSW 5 on PS5.

Same for me, some of my DLC its show as "TSW5" and some as "TSW4"

I Delete before downloading TSW5 my TSW4 and installed the DLC from the Playstation Store.

I find this all very confusing, but it seems as if the DLC shown as TSW4 also work in TSW5.

 

Via the MS Store Website I have downloaded all of my tsw3 addons as TSW4 compatible. I have installed them. But I am still having to pay for the TSW5 versions!
Can someone please tell me why I am still be asked to pay for addons that I own.

 

The situation on PS5 is very confusing. Every DLC is listed twice under TSW 5’s manage game content menu, and then a third time after upgrading. One set is shared with TSW3, another with TSW4, and then a desicated set for TSW5. Are all 3 redundant and usable? If so is there still a need to perform the upgrade that then causes the third version to be upgraded? Does it the TSW5 version have any features/functionality not present in the versions shared with TSW3 or TSW4?

I basically deleted all the versions shared with TSW3 and TSW4, then downloaded the TSW5 versions (which confusingly have a mix of icons for TSW5, TSW4, and TSW3). Was this tedious exercise really necessary or just a waste of time and download effort? The additional annoying part is to cancel the downloads of the versions for PS4.

More clarity is needed to help people not waste storage space (eg the PS4 versions) and maximize data sharing with TSW4 and/or TSW3 (if that even works).

 

This. The process needs to be far more seamless. Yes I know in the case of the PS5 I have taken the free version and the DLC is free to transfer over but, 1. That doesn’t mean we should have to jump through hoops and, 2. Anyone buying one of the paid versions is in the same boat. I can manage files fairly easy on the PC, but PS5 is a different story.

 

I own GWE but it is the only route not showing in my add ons. I can see I own a version of it in the Xbox store, but the TSW5 version says I don't own it. Is this some weird thing going on that will sort itself out eventually or am I missing something?

I own the PS5 version. GWE was purchased back to TSW3, shown as purchased on TSW3 DLC page. It appeared to be "unavailable" on TSW4 and then not free on TSW5.

Same problem with those DLCs previous than TSW3, like Hauptstrecke Munchen-Augsburg, LGV, etc. Works fine with those DLCs on TSW3 or 4.

 

Epic Games appears to have done a much better job granting entitlements this year compared to the last two releases. All my routes and locos are present on day one.

The only thing they missed was the TSW4 Decal Pack 01 which was a preorder bonus last year. I'm assuming that should have transferred over? Not that I'm bothered by that as I don't use the livery designer.

Can someone please help??
I’m using Xbox series X and just wanted to know if West Somerset Railway & Glossip Line add ons are upgrade compatible. I’ve purchased lots of add ons for TSW3 & 4 and most of them are available for free upgrade on TSW5.
I know there was a delay on some add ons getting put on as I read the feed on another post.
For instance, the Cajon Pass upgrade was there this morning when I’ve looked, but I wanted to know if Glossip & West Somerset were just delayed or they’re not getting the upgrade. TIA for any help

 

Still getting a TSW4 DLC when downloading the Acela so I guess I should not try to see if other DLC already downloads as TSW5 on PS5.

 

Sadly it's a Microsoft issue and out of DTG's hands. Microsoft are very very slow at approving things. Even Microsoft Flight Sim's 3rd party Dev's have the same tedious task of waiting for MS to approve their addons.
DTG are trying their best to get MS to push everything through. It could be a matter of days, weeks and even months.

 

I play on PS5, i had early acces with the known issues. and at first i let my PS5 download everything and that gave some problems so:

• I deleted TSW4 and TSW5. I moved all my other games to the SSD. So I reserved the original space for TSW5.
• I then started the download for TSW5 and selected all the DLC listed.
• When it starts downloading, it will also want to download the PS4 versions
• I stopped (canceled) downloading the PS4 versions and only let the PS5 versions download
• Once the base game was installed, I checked for PS4 downloads
• When TSW4 is not installed, it will indicate that the main software is missing. I deleted all the PS4 versions that were still there
• Then I started TSW5 and checked the store from within the game
• All the DLC I owned was shown with a free price tag
• I "bought" them one by one and started downloading.
• Every time it tries to download the PS4 version too, so I stopped that every time and only let it download the PS5 versions.
• First I did this with all the routes I own. bought them "for free".
• Then I restarted the game and checked that everything was there, so I did the same for all my Locomotive DLC
• Now I have my entire collection installed and working.
• When I check now I see all DLC installed from TSW4 and TSW5 (PS5 versions only)
• I still see a list labeled TSW3. I don't need them because I installed the TSW4 versions of those titles.
• It seems like everything is fine now.
• Let's Play TSW5!

 

Followed your tips and they didn't work for me. I've raised a support ticket but don't hold out much hope. So many addons not working, no matter which version of the dlc I download. The majority are still to show in game. I'm on PS5.

Is this a Sony issue or a DTG issue. Whichever it is it's really annoying. I haven't even attempted my American routes or loco addons yet.

 

I finally resolved it on PS5 so the game shows all DLC. Installed all and then selected restore licence before starting the game. I have never been happier sitting waiting minutes for the game to load because I know it has finally worked. So solution for anyone on PS5 not seeing all DLC in game yet installed is to Restore Licence.

 

Some stuff is available now for Xbox. Some is still missing but I’ve got a few more unlocked.

After getting all my DLC over to TSW5 on PS4 pro , I thought I would try the BPO route with a run from Blackpool to Preston. Previously with TSW4 I wasn't able to run from Blackpool to Preston, because as I approached Preston station the game crashed and had to be restarted. So far with TSW5 I've been able to get into Preston station and complete the service. So not sure what has happened in TSW5.

 

Yesterday finally i can download all DLCs owned on Xbox without pay again. Thanks for fix this problem Dovetail.

 

I bought Deluxe...in Game store it want me to pay again!! But it has downloaded Starter pack game....not whaylt I paid for.. I now have to spend 8 days reinstalling every route and loco. Not good enough.

 

Same here i just get standard...think I will just ask for a refund.

 

Did you not know the free starter pack is the base game and whatever version you bought, you have to install each addon, that's how it works.

 

I have the starter pk. Just brings up the training centre..I spent ages yesterday installing all my routes

 

PSN won't allow me to download any of the TSW 5 versions of my add ons.
The ones I am trying to get installed are the Following
CN Oakville Subdivision
Peninsula Corridor
Sherman Hill
Sand Patch Grade
And the CSX C40-8W
Steam will not allow me to download the free varient of these add ons when attempting to I'm meet with (We're Sorry, This product cannot be purchased at this time.) [Error Code WS-43691-3]
Is there anyway I can fix this I really want to play TSW 5 with all my add one included.
Is this a PSN/Dovetail DLC Issue that hasn't been resolved yet?

Why if i buyed on TSW5 this addon because is the “train sim world compatibility”…MS tell me buy again for playing on TSW4?

That is probably some quirk in the store.
If you bought it never buy it again.
It should be available in tsw 5
otherwise support will help you
