It would be nice to have the ability to hump shunt wagons, currently uncoupling the wagons forces them to go into emergency.

Sadly, CSX's questionable CEO has decided to shut down hump yards like Cumberland's, so there isn't much reason to include hump yards just yet, as it would be unrealistic to use the Cumberland hump as CSX is set in modern day.

Fair enough, I was thinking of just operating the angle cocks independantly of the main train coupling to let wagons roll down the hump.

I would like to see that too, in fact, I think that was a feature that once existed but never worked the way DTG wanted. (There are even references to angle cocks in the files-so its sorta still there.) I hope they have another try to make a version that does work though.

it works... somehow :) The trick is to uncouple the wagons while moving.

Hump switching would be a great addition for all freight fanatics, but how about switching operations in general? There's lots of yard space going to waste!

Hump shunting should definitely be added along with an extra tutorial on hump shunting.

So inject a bit of imagination; for example, a scenario in which an old hand remembers what shunting the hump was like "back in the good-old-days" or gets permission to show a new hire how hump shunting worked. Maybe even a demonstration exercise for a rail-fan group.
After all, the past is also part of reality!

Well, that is true, we do have YN2 paint to use. But from what Matt says, he is sticking to the excuse for now that it would not be modern to do hump yards. I say excuse because DTG does not seem very concerned about making CSX better in general at the moment.

Agree A working Hump Yard would be nice to have with working brake retarders and maybe even have the possibility of a working RCL unit for the hump master would be Awesome
