The points of a working EBuLa and the substitution of every 101 service would only really justify this DLC for being at a higher price point at or above 45€ full list price.

While I doubt that TSG can implement a working EBuLa as it's route dependent as already stated by noir, I really would wish it to be one of the expert loco features a lot.

They even got the question whether it has a working EBuLa in the livestream yesterday at the very end of it, but Matt couldn't give a no answer to the question there. So there is still hope.

ATC is implemented in quite a few TSC stuff, and ETCS is the sort of thing that should be in all DLCS where appropriate.

Just to be clear, the ETCS variant of the BR101 does not actually have a functioning ETCS IRL.
Also, as of yet, there are no German routes in TSW that feature ETCS IRL, as far as I am aware. This means that even if ETCS was implemented on the BR101, you would never actually have it functioning in the game anyway.

Indeed, I am personally more interested in the IC cab than in the expert DB 101, which I already like it very much the way it is.

Damn, they are retiring the 101s so soon? Doesn't DB have much (much!) older locos in service still?

Yes, but express IC locos get flogged very hard. The 103s didn't last all that long either. And remember, the 101 entered service nearly 30 years ago (roughly the same time as the 401/ICE 1, which is also being retired).

Anyway, it's clear that DB are over loco-hauled express trains. In future it's all ICE (or IC2, ie Regiobahnen in white paint)

They are? What about the ICE L? In fact, with the IC2 and ICE L, I’d argue loco hauled express trains are in a bit of a renaissance right now.

Simexpress's creations are also incredible. While it only focuses on French locomotives and carriages, its simulation models are incredible for TCS. Look at the turbotrain, you have to carry out every action in preparation for starting the train, set every parameter. They're probably one of the most important, but most underrated content creators in TSC!

Yes there are much older locos still in service, but the IC1 is being retired, as the coaches have an average age of 45 years and were slowly being replaced by faster and more comfortable ICE services. The last IC1 services are operated on the Karlsruhe-Westerland (Sylt) route, as the last strech along the coast and over the North Sea isn't electrified and they need to change to diesel locomotives.

Als Lamplight said, they're not really over with loco hauled trains, but rather with the old IC1 coaches and the total modularity of individual coaches. The ICE L will be similar to the ÖBB Railjet, as the coaches are close-coupled to a continous unit and a loco hauling the train.

Well I wouldn't count the IC2 as an investment by DB into loco hauled Intercity services. The sets were originally ordered for regional services, but DB lost the tender and changed the order to Intercity interiors. They also bougth old Stadler KISS units from Austria's Westbahn, which are now operated on services into Switzerland and between Rostock and Wien. If DB would be buying new IC2 rolling stock now, I think they would choose EMUs, as the locomotive doesn't bring any advantage on these services.

I said express: IC2 isn't. It's just an RE painted white

Actually, that's somewhat true, and for the ICE-L somehow it feels (not rideable by now) like the "working title" ECx would have somehow fitted better...so more a marketing move by DB.
