Hi guys, this question is a bit more technical than what I usually ask.

To cut a long story short. I'm currently making a big (~20 scenarios) scenario pack and want to provide a custom installer for it. By custom installer, take for example the Just Trains Chiltern Mainline.

I understand the basic concept behind installing a third party add on. (Open utilities.exe, go to packages... yadda yadda yadda)

I'm just wondering if there's any consequence to installing add-ons without using the package manager. (i.e. installing the add on files directly into the Railworks directory. I should mention here that no files get overwritten by my installer.)

If there is any implications, is there:
    • any documentation on the .pi file type? I understand everything in the .pi file except for the hash on the final line. I'd assume it's some kind of integrity check?
    • any way to install an .rwp file from the command line? I want this to be hassle free for the users instead of having to load up Utilities.exe, wait 25 years for the program to load and then install the RWP.
