so i want to know something, is scenario planner done at it current stage? or is there still things DTG can add on to it like pick up and drop off cars idea but waiting for more licensing rights from epic & Microsoft & Sony?
Still hoping if TSW3 is a reality the much hyped and then frantically rammed under the carpet SP2 will be part of it. The current one is a joke, a kid’s toy. We need something with the power and flexibility of the old MSTS Activity Editor or the Scenario editor in TSC. That includes the ability to construct your own consists.
Scenario Planner V1 (what we currently have) isn't much use and DTG have acknowledged there are flaws in what it can and cannot do. They have spoken briefly about a version 2, but the usual "it's not on the roadmap..." applies. Hopefully V2 will contain more freedom in things like platform assignments, routing, consist editor and so on but as always with DTG "we shall see"...
Considering everything seems to be slowing down in preparation for TSW3* we could see some movement after that. Of course, Scenario Planner and Livery Editor 2.0 were both in the roadmap for a good while before being suspended and removed, however never officially said to be "cancelled". *Speculation, fueled simply by leaks and guesswork. Presuming that TSW3 is just coming to our knowledge too soon, I could see a scenario planner 2.0 coming sometime in the relatively near future. There's nothing to do with Scenario Planner atm, it takes a good bit of skill to translate the basic options available into an interesting scenario. Hopefully it comes.
If TSW3 is coming then they could do all sorts of things with the "dispatcher" to negate the need for much of what caused issues in the TSW2 planner... Things like being unable to dynamically adjust platform stopping points, so limited consists and platform assignments etc
Agreed. It's frustrating putting a 4 car unit at a platform and having it sitting at the signal rather than against the buffers
Depends what it's doing next and where the exit is. As an example in Gravesend P0 (bay platform) all trains line up for their exit, rather than going all the way to the end. Not saying the ones in game are right (many aren't) but not everything goes all the way down either. Obviously the best situation would be "This platform has 4, 8 and 12 car markers, trains up to 4 cars stop here" etc and that's what happens in game preferably dynamically
