They have refreshed engine and beta testers say that performance with new shaders will be same or better in some cases
beta testers have posted these pictures of the betatest on discord, folks say that usually only happens about 2 days before the release of a new update. Lets see )
2 days is a little to optimistic i guess but in the next week could be possible. More likely Tuesday or Thursday but you never now what suprise here will come.
and just look at what we will be getting in that update, easily content worth 3 DLC's in tsw Sorry for Dovetail's game, SimRail dev's test test and test again before releasing content, this means they find bugs and fix them, unfortunately this takes time but.....
Ohh nice. I've just read that the track will be much more slippery in the autumn, and there will be sparks in the winter, and all this will change dynamically depending on the weather. One of the developers wrote in the Polish DC room that when this update is released (Nov.21) they will post information about the next update which is supposed to be scheduled for Christmas. But the date is not fixed just planned so it might slip through next year!
A little strange look of the platform/track transition, looking like the track is higher than the platform, probably due to perspective on the image.
"One of the most important parts of the new weather system is the new sky and lighting engine. The atmosphere is rendered using completely new algorithms, mapping, among others: shadows cast by clouds or atmospheric scattering effect"
Brand new cloud system and cloud-based shadows. "shadows cast by clouds or atmospheric scattering effect."
trees would be new ones, and shadow and light will change with sun position) Screenshot made using the new weather engine, which will appear in the SimRail update on November 21
Goodness gracious, the more I see the more i'm completely awestruck by how good SimRail looks like. Stuff is genuinely impressive, I think this has the potential to become a really big competitor to TSW. It's hard to deny that I'm getting quite jealous...
This november is a real cake for railway fans - Preston – Blackpool route and close upcoming huge updates for Simrail
Looking good especially the EN57. Seems to share the same tap changer then "shunt" arrangement as the EU07 locos. Can't wait for Tuesday, the fun will be finding a server where you can get a turn on the EN57.
I think the preview convinced me to get the game already after the 1st part of the update (and maybe it will be also participating in the Steam Autumn Sale which is starting next week).
While i'm not sold on Simrail over TSW. I did however find a big advantage (for me) It is available on Geforce now. With my aging PC this is good. anyone playing it through Geforce now?
My computer broke down and until i bought a new one until then i played on it worked perfectly fine. Maybe the downside is that if there is an update you have to wait a bit more, even the GFN servers are updated.
Absolutely correct. TSW, TSC, SimRail even the minors like Derail Valley, Run 8 and old MSTS in OR good in their own way. And I still think Trainz wins hands down for ease of route building (just the crappiest driving experience).
Actually I have TSC, RUN8, ZUSI 3, TSW.....and SImRail and this fact does not make me any kind of inconvinience )
Absolutely. And when I’m not in the mood for trains, then Snowrunner gets fired up and knock 1 or 2% off one of the area total missions/contracts. With all the season passes installed I don’t think you could actually finish Snowrunner in a lifetime.
Hopefully the next update will turn towards expanding the SP game and of course the other thing we need is some noisy Eastern European diesels!
