Some time ago, we informed you about a new route that will begin in Zgorzelec on the Polish-German border and run through Goerlitz to Dresden. Work on this DLC is by no means abandoned, and today we want to share with you the first results of the work on the vehicle that will serve it – the Siemens Desiro. In Poland, this train is primarily known for its "Kulturzug" Wrocław-Berlin service.

Update time- Dear Players, As promised, today we're releasing another SimRail update, introducing a very important improvement – mipmap (texture) streaming. This feature allows you to reduce graphics card memory (VRAM) usage while simultaneously increasing the resolution of close-up textures on low-end hardware. ️ The new option is enabled by default and replaces the previous texture resolution selection – if you experience issues or performance drops, you can disable it in the settings and revert to the old settings. We'd appreciate your feedback on this matter. We've also improved daylight by adding sun reflections from the ground, in preparation for the introduction of Screen Space Global Illumination. ️ Shadow resolution has also been increased at high graphics settings, and the shadow draw distance has been slightly extended at ultra settings. <
Not on consoles still no patch since January and the game is an absolute blurry texture mess. Dispatch mode is still bonked and the scenery pops in about 200m in front of the train. The MP servers are dead I haven't seen 1 other person on any of the 3 xbox servers for weeks now and the most I've ever seen since release was 9 total over all 3. So looks like its a failure on console. Back to TSW since it is nowhere near this bad.
Must admit I haven’t fired up the PC version in about a month. Like most games (other than TSW) I tend to binge them for a few evenings then get bored and do something else. Last month it was OMSI 2 and UBoat. This month it’s been FS25 and Snowrunner (in between TSW of course!).
The type IX DLC is really nice. Did you try it ? It was a bit buggy at the beginning, but the devs were very reactive to correct it (it's not a big team, possibly just one guy). That's not always the case for certain video games, if you know what I mean...
Must admit, haven’t fired it up in a couple of months, but that’s not necessarily loss of interest just doing other things at the moment.
I haven't played it much recently either and I think this is part of it for me, but also the servers being mostly empty between releases and the lack of content variety holding it back a little. Simrail could maybe use closing down some servers between releases and get the german and US route there have been whispers about out.
I emailed them direct a couple of months ago and actually got a reply! The impression I got was that until the latest PC beta (which is a brand new build) was finalised, nothing was planned for the our version, so if I was being a hopeless optimist I'd be inclined to think we may get some sort of XBOX rebrand (complete with outstanding DLC's) along with the still absent PS5 version when the current PC build is finalised. Basically though, we were sold an obsolete version of Simrail.
Is the Xbox version of Simrail Bad? I thought there would be a lot written on the forums when it was released on consoles but it's almost completely silent and that's rarely good.
Really bad, blurry textures galore, the scenery all pops in 250m in front of you. And the servers are dead.
The Polish (PC) servers are currently about half full but everything else including the main International/English servers are pretty much empty. Of course there could be more people using SP these days as Steam DB currently shows 373 in game, as opposed to the 190 across all the servers.
Hey Vern, we were actually talking about the Xbox version and those servers. The console servers have been at goose eggs for over a month now. I go on usially prime time in North America but the polish and 2 international servers always show 0. And its only the base game we get..no DLC at all. It came out January and not one update yet.
When i see in steam Players. It seems to have increased in February, but now it is at the same levels as before, you could say. Link Month Avg. I understood that but it looks as if the PC numbers are dwindling too. It's a shame as I do like SimRail. but for the moment I have removed it to make way for a reinstall of TSC - as I miss my Swiss Metre Gauge and various steam locos.
Today, 14 June 2026, a new train timetable is introduced in the Simrail Railway Lines network. The new timetable involves the following changes: changes to the running times of all trains, new connections and train routes within the Łódź Junction area (ŁKA Sprinter, long-distance trains), an increased number of trains from 1704 to 2024 per day on each server, smoother traffic by adjusting the intervals between trains, a night-time timetable featuring a variety of train routes, the return of the legendary Katowice–Warsaw night trains via Kozłów, unique services: IC Nieśpieszny, a retro steam train, and technical runs, new, heavy freight trains with weight 4000 tonnes on the CMK during the night
