The new Class 484 trains are set to operate on Island Line from May 2021 (if not delayed). They arrived on the Isle of Wight last year and are undergoing some refurbishment. And some infrastructure work being done to accommodate the new locos is still under way. I would like to see the route updated and the new class 484 as an included train or DLC.

Also I found a preview of the interiors, https://vivarail.co.uk/360s/SWR-261020_Interior/.

see this would require to in a sense create a whole new route and loco and they have already said that they have no plans to do it

This is the thing that will make this loco unlikely to appear as a DLC. The route would need to be different to run a realistic timetable and that then breaks the route for the currently depicted stock. The whole idea of making the route was to have it with the 483 before it retired. Routes don’t get modified once they are completed, other than the older DTG routes having features added to bring them up to current game standards.

However , RT is getting a whole new timetable , so maybe we could get a new timetable for iow in a time period when 484’s run

Yes, but also, the trains are too tall. At Ryde Pier/Esplanade they are rising the platforms, and lowering the track bed at all the other stations so they are not too high for the platform. That would also make a IOW set in an even more mish-mashed route. Trains set in 2021, more trains set in a livery which expired in 1996 and stations set around 2011. Unlike GWE which had a whole separate timetable for the locos that are incorrect for the time the route was set in.

surely that won't work though as unlike with RT which uses the same stock IOW would then be using a timetable set for a more modern train so surely time's would change though.

The track layout is changing too... they are implementing an extra passing loop for instance, so I voted no
