I contacted AP about it, they verified and said it's not their pack that is causing this glow issue.

Of course it's not, else everybody had the issue.

See, "ice" says the same on rail-sim.de. It is a shader issue which should not be there if you do a full Steam verification which will restore your shaders in RailWorks\dev\Shaders.

I did that and it didn't solve the issue. I find finally find out what is causing this issue: d3d9.dll, a Vulcan renderer. Here's the problem though, if I don't have that d3d9.dll file, the mountains look like this: [IMG]

And this is how this second picture from the same angle looks WITH the d3d9.dll.file (Vulkan renderer):

But then the downside is I get a white or blue glow on mountains in foggy, rainy or snowy weather.

    Ok.

Either you are a very confused person or clearly a troll.

    1. Vulkan was already mentioned very early in the thread. You said you never used it.
    2. The second picture is using 3D Weather (DynamicClouds)
    3. The third picture is my screenshot you have taken from here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...n-the-near-or-far-distance.81557/#post-843053

What has this got to do with your shader issue in fog.

If you had really done a Steam verification you would have solved all these "problems" already.
    > restores d3d9.dll and shaders > issue solved. You said you had done this but it is clearly not true.

Topic should really be closed now.

I'm not a troll, I'm really trying to understand.

    1. I was indeed using Vulcan, it's just that because it wasn't called Vulcan Renderer but rather d3d9.dll I forgot that I was using it.
    2. It doesn't matter that the second is using 3D Weather (DynamicClouds), the black mountains appear in AP Skydome or Weather too.
    3. Yes I know it's your screenshot.

It has to do with the fact that without Vulcan (so without d3d9.dll) I have black mountains in the distance like in the very first picture (and the second) but I don't have a shader issue. However, with Vulcan, I don't have black mountains in the distance but I have the shader issue (white and blue glow in fog, rainy and snowy weather).

In post 2 the very first reply to this thread I asked you if you had Vulkan API and now in post 55 you say you do indeed have the d3d9.dll from Vulkan...

Agreed clearly one or the other, cynical old me is leaning toward the latter.

    Yep.

Yes I apologize for that, I didn't know what it was called exactly.

Words are wasted here. People told you everything you need to know.

There is no d3d9.dll in the vanilla install there is (or should be) a d3dx9_26.dll though.

I know there isn't, the d3d9.dll was suggested to me in another thread back when I had the black mountains issue in the distance. d3d9.dll fixed the black mountains issue in the distance but created the shader (blue or white glow) issue instead. I do have d3dx9_26.dll also.

Yes that's fair enough but you should really try better to keep an eye and itinerary on what you install, nobody else has added files to your install only you can do that, so I suggest from now on with a completely vanilla (RailWorks removed and re-installed fresh from Steam) AND a file integrity check you make and keep a list of any 3rd party content you add and always test after each individual installation never ever bulk install mods/skins/freeware or 3rd party apps, one at a time and test test test.

Ok sure, fair advice. I'm currently verifying the integrity of the game files, I previously removed Railworks and re-installed it fresh from Steam.

And don't post my picture telling people that would be using Vulkan renderer. This is a lie, it is my screenshot and you posted the same LOVE on rail-sim.de.

For the future - if someone takes their precious time trying to help you (I won't), follow their advice!

It's irrelevant if it's your screenshot, I'm not claiming it's mine, I'm using it to illustrate something because it was posted in a similar topic previously. You already wrote twice that you won't help me anymore yet kept on replying, make up your mind.

I have yet to solve this issue, I just found out what is causing this but it creates another problem once you solve it.

Yeah you are right. I should have known this thread explodes and you are giving false information and unrelated stolen screenshots with misleading and false information - luckily I knew that screenshot and exposed your strange tactics.

Make up your mind? Pardon - you are the one that has "problems" constantly. Me and the others are trying to help you, a non-cooperating and unthankful troll. Made up my mind now.

Last time you called LogMate "bullshit" without ever presenting what was demanded.

It's not a stolen screenshot, it would be a stolen screenshot if I claimed it as my own AND if it was copyrighted which it isn't. You are way too emotional about this... For all your "help" so far, you have yet to tell me why you are not having this issue on your end if you're not using any Vulcan renderer.

Then don't reply and move on from my threads, I'm sorry my issues are triggering you so much.

Unthankful? I thanked people dozens of times on this forum and elsewhere.

LogMate is bullshit, I stand by what I wrote.

I think we've all exhausted our advice and ability to help, hope you sort it out in the end but I'm bowing out now too.

I verified the integrity of the game files while keeping the Vulcan Renderer (d3d9.dll) and I still have the white glow in the mountains, back to square one.
