Yes, GWE is getting a remaster in the same way that Cathcart and WSR did. All versions of TSW5 are the same, whether free or paid for.
I hate to admit it, but what you say is right. I’ve just done my first run on Frankfurt - Fulda route and in all honesty it outshines the UK route by a huge margin. German content has always had the edge when it comes to a bigger roaster of rolling stock, maybe that has something to do with it.
For me personally its has been the rockest starts to a tsw game (but definitely not a flop). I've been playing since the first tsw (i think round the time TPE was releasing). Ive played each iteration of the game and as stated this version has been the rockest. With the LNWR licensing been withdrawn last minute, and the route's showcase itself getting alot of backlash on the fourms that DTG came out with a statement talking about the issues, and being an Xbox player not being able to download all my routes from day one release is frausting becuase im having to keep tsw 4 installed till the issue is sorted. However, I wouldn't call it a flop from what ive played its enjoyable. Currently only sticking to Frankfurt Fulda becuase I don't have deluxe (Thats becuase I messed up my preorder nothing to do with DTG just my own incompetence) and driving the WCML without the Pendolino just feels wrong (however even without the Pendo its way too quiet with the overground and underground service) so Friday is when I will try more of the WCML. Guard mode as well is enjoyable in my opinion ive done two full services from Frankfurt ( A) 20 minute service B) 1 hour service) however walking through the dostos can be annoying at times my first attempt Id just left Frankfurt got stuck on a chair tried sitting down and standing up to fix it and got thrown onto the roof of the train and had to rest, plus not starting next to your train is frustrating and no marker to tell me which train is mine is annoying. Besides that i can see myself using gaurd mode when ive havent got the energy to drive but wanna do something on a route. So summing up my thoughts the game isn't a flop but definitely a rough start and need more time in the oven. My opinion is that it shouldn't be a yearly release the redownload issue will got worse and worse with each new installment but we all know that TSW 6 is probably gonna release next year and it will definitely need a smoother start then 5 but Im looking forward for the upcoming routes definitely JT WCML Overshap and the Cardiff City Network.
100% the game is absolutely horrible, bugs galore, no branding, the overground signs look terrible and its just a complete disappointment! DTG are only interested in lining their pockets, they're not train enthusiasts like many of us.
Wouldn't call it a flop, however it is a disaster. Why do PS5 TSW5 routes show as installed in manage content, however they don't show in the game itself. Own all DLC but only installed the 50 or so with TSW5 icons, missing in game are things like San Bernadino, Cajon etc. Only showing about 20x of the routes. This will mean I cannot purchase anymore DLC since there is a chance it won't show ingame to play anyway. I know there is an issue in the game, TSW4 with all DLC installed took some time to load on startup, TSW5 seems too quick to load. I believe they messed around adding the layer function in where you can add or subtract layers, but totally broke the addon manager they worked hard to make. They haven't even come out and said there is an issue, it feels like they are hiding.
But there is just no traffic. Last year's UK route had only 1 train I guess and when layered, DLC gave you the same amount of rolling stock. But this years UK route feels so empty. Driving the Avanti I guess I never saw another Avanti pass.
Yes, GWE is being remastered with a wider variety of trains, one of the trains is a blue version of the HST that was hidden in the original DLC, but not all the new trains have the proper branding, but the original GWE trains will still be GWE. The free TSW5 version has everything it should have, but some features come with the new DLCs, so they won't be accessible until you buy them.
No no nothing to see here, keep moving, all is well I wouldn't worry about it as such, it is just another bug the game launched with, raise a support ticket with DTG if you haven't already, remember it is still in public beta testing mode.
No, DTG are money enthusiasts, is that any good to you? DTG had to release TSW regardless of the state of it just to generate more money, but this year they have got caught out because a lot of players have held back after seeing their own live stream. It will take DTG months to patch this, if they do at all and this was released as a finished product?
Brexit has had an awful impact on the UK, train companies are going to the dogs. Nobody is going to want to visit the UK now, thanks DTG.
If you go to manage content and install all the ones with a TSW4 icon that DON'T say 'shared with' underneath the DLC name, those are all the TSW5 DLCs, just with the wrong icon. Hope that helps.
Thanks I do understand that. However on PS5 when I actually go into the game it’s not showing every route I have installed, that’s the problem. I don’t understand where people are saying they are seeing all routes where no matter what I do I only see 20x plus training centre, yet under manage content all are installed correctly. I believe people saying they are seeing all routes are either using different platform or don’t own more that 20x
I'm on PS5, own all except 4 loco/wagon DLCs, can see all of them. European region in case that turns out to make a difference.
Oh, so now DTG is responsible for the decline in tourism to the UK. How about the price of tomatoes? Is that DTG's fault too. Ever thought of giving your keyboard a well- earned rest. Or perhaps collecting all your random thoughts into one giant post that we can either read or not.
And the rain fall. They affected climate change with their farts. If there’s a beer shortage at my local at the weekend due to the wheat shortage, than I’ll be on the tomato juice which will give me the sxxx’s
That’s good to know. In Australia so maybe there is a difference. Especially since in managed content there is no mention of shared with TSW4, it’s all just duplicated identical logos and names. You’re the first that has actually proven useful. The issue sounds like it’s region affected.
Massive Flop is not the right term imo, rather massivly overhyped. There were 40 pages in different threads about wcml being rushed, this pre Release!
It is a big flop.(especially with the XBOX issue for DLC not showing up!) I wasn't hyped as I saw no visual difference between TSW4 and TSW5. Nothing new under the hood. (except from new routes and a silly conductor mode.) Spoiler What will TSW6 bring us? Ticket office work? Station duty work? Looking for lost children at the station? Answer Enquirers at a booth and get barked at??? Fix broken escalators and lifts? No, I think TSW has played out it's role in the sim genre …
Well got to admit the freshness wore off a bit last night finding after all these years we still get stuck trains restoring a save game. Fortunately I was able to recover the situation by going forward and closing the doors on the offending train at which point it moved off and everything freed up. But come on, this is seven years into the game and the fifth iteration of the title. Stupid faults like this should be a thing of the past. So I finished up the run, quit TSW and chilled out reinstalling the Virtual District Line into TSC where I might just take a wander later on this evening. Also need to check out the current sale on TSC before it ends, couple of routes have my eye and there’s always plenty to do in Run 8. TSW is good but sometimes it just isn’t worth the bother.
How a company advertises a product is THEIR choice, over hyping a product to make more sales is false advertising, an extreme version of this was a game called "No man Sky." The worst part is DTG sold TSW5 as a working product, but players got a broken product, that part of the hype too?
They got our money now, so I expect it will be Friday afternoon down the pub, high fives, beers and shots and fat cigars (outside) for the whole team.
Well I’d expect d dlc to become available bit by bit over the days maybe, not all at once. I mean some where already available so why can’t the rest be ticked off bit by bit?
I was playing a run on CJP last night a 28 min short switching run with the SD40 2 to test it ran ok outside of the horn was acting up would get stuck and then fade only after a few min later it would start blowing again on its own then near the end of scenario the brakes started to act funky ..i like tsw but then at times i get fustrated with it .. Same with TSC and trainz i play then get flustered with them that why i just flip flop between them i like and dislike things with all 3 simulators
Yes I tend to jump around, TSW, TSC, Run 8 but eventually they all end up frustrating you at which point it’s back to Snowrunner, the truck games or blowing someone’s head of in Sniper Elite 4!
The Overground section was so neglected it’s laughable. I mean DTG already have access to the Johnstone’s font for signs but couldn’t be arsed to use it. Compared to the detail of the Goblin line it’s laughable. And don’t get me started on… what are they?… Are they supposed to be London buses at Watford Junction?? I know many won’t care too much, but for me the Lioness line was the main thing that got me hyped for TSW5. I mean if they’re going to bother to add something like this to a route, why not do it properly? I wouldn’t say TSW5 is a flop exactly, but massively disappointing when you also take the owned compatible content issues into account.
Never show your missus the agonising “Ball breaker” slow mo shot on Sniper Elite. She may never look at balls the same way again.
TSW5 is definitely not a flop, but it is a mess at the moment for console players, as well as longtime players who have purchased all the editions. For someone who has bought the game for the first time will not think it’s a flop. They will be enjoying it. I was when l had early access for the deluxe version, now the game is in a different ballpark!!! Please DTG no more separate editions. Please make TSW6 install into TSW5, just like new editions of TSC do.
It’s not feeling like a train sim anymore is it, DTG are too focused on the other features to understand all people care about is driving the train. That is why TSW will always feel more like an arcade sim to me and targeted towards the casual players. After playing a lot of TSC recently I’m definitely getting more enjoyment out of it, as that’s all the game focuses on is “driving trains”. I’ve played untold routes that I could’ve only dreamt of playing on TSW too, especially the amazing user who created the southeastern network. I can now do my 465, 375services on my local route to my hearts content. Did a run up to Birmingham too on the WCML. A nice non-stop 1hr 10 service stopping at Coventry along the way. The route is a copy and paste job upgraded with new rolling stock into UE4 and 60% of the route cut. The 30ish minute runs in the Pendolino are over before they start on TSW5. If TSW adapted the same principles as TSC than maybe we’d have a better sim. DTG are more interested in adding gimmicks too the game. That’s what most of their resources and dev time gets spend on.
to be fair the problem was fixed a few days later i have all my DLC and i didn't expect it to be fixed so quickly
I said before launch I would not notice as I'm not from the UK but I do notice. When the leaks came out I never heard of this route but everyone's excitement made me think it would be even better than the Azuma route. Hearing everyone complain it's too short made me hope it would look as detailed as the Goblin line but I don't know what happened to this route and I understand the disappointment. From now on I'm gonna be more sceptic when UK players get on the hype train. I've never seen a German player on the forum boast Frankfurt would be the best route in all of TSW but here we are with Frankfurt being the best route in TSW so far.
I was playing around with the (freeware) Virtual District Line in TSC last night and the love, care and attention to detail that has been poured into that makes WCMLS in TSW look like an amateur effort.
