It will be interesting to see how that pans out. I'm not aware that Caltrain has had a management change since the old Pen Corr was licensed for TSW 2020. I think what happened is that they want to bury their diesel past, like First Group wanted to bury their FGW branding, but they might be amenable to licensing the current electric route with KISSes. (besides, this game needs more Stadlers. For all the limitations of Luzerne-Sursee, the SBB Flirt is a blast to drive).
I could see that being the case. I remember seeing on FB that there wasn't much fanfare of the final runs for their diesel trains. Seemed very excited to leave them in the past (which is understandable) but thus is from memory so maybe someone will correct me.
Are we likely to get news of new content in development soon (as the roadmap is so bare now) or is that it now until Dovetail Direct in the summer?
Maybe smaller pieces of content, but until August anything big like routes or trains won’t be announced as they take over 4 months to make
The same things would go over and over again, and we would expect DTG announce TSW6 on August. Somebody post threads discuss TSWX and make speculation DTG announce that it won't be a August Roadmap, instead they would hold a live event called Dovetail Direct or others name More and more speculation thread posted Some leaks hint the future TSWX game content cause discussion in this fourm and all these threads get deleted (maybe) DTG announce the TSWX game on the live event, there would be three routes, one US route, one UK route and one Germany or Austria route, among with an UK loco and a German loco for Deluxe Edition PS: and add some new feature DTG release TSWX at September and provide free starter pack for players Players complain about the new bugs introduce by TSWX Somebody post threads discuss TSWX+1
You are completely right it would be nice if their is new game dtg actually do something different this time I don't want a new game rather a rush hour style thing again I know that it's usual year on year release with this I sound like broken record saying I'm fed up re installing every year and the GB size going up and up on even older routes let alone the new ones
As I've said elsewhere in these forums I'm convinced DTG will mark the start of the renationalisation of England's train services by having DLC from one of the 3 TOCS that are switching to Great British Railways this year. I think the favourite is South West Railways. DTG already have the 20m Desiro body for the DC version of the 350, so it would only need the 23m Class 444 added. Either Waterloo to Southampton or Portsmouth would be good. Alternatively we could see a South West London metro DLC with Class 455s (the first Mk 3 EMU in TSW) and Class 701s. I've ignored the 458s as I hate them, awful, ugly trains. I've also not suggested the other two TOCs as I've endorsed them before. As for new features, I think we're finally getting random events in Timetable mode and more realistic changes to train handling/service impacts in poor weather conditions. TSRs too hopefully.
I'm not sure we'll see them in their current form, but maybe we'll see them represented at the point of nationalisation, afterall, we know both South Western and Greater Anglia are not particularly receptive to licencing negotiations at the moment. I suspect Matt is counting down the days until they can start doing the GEML though!
Yes, sorry, I didn't make that clear in my post. I meant after the TOCs are no longer in charge and it can be branded as GBR. Though I don't think we'll see any changes to the liveries for a long time. What with budgets being tightened at the moment.
I wonder if they will release a`free`core update like they did with TSW 5,with additional routes for different game versions.
I suspect this is the only way a “new” version will be palatable to many players, as opposed to just doing a core update with content pack to cover the costs. Let’s hope DTG and their Focus overlords see it that way.
The thing is, they've now set the precedent, going back to a paid new version will be met with uproar.
Would be stupid of them to release a free version for TSW5, only to say if we want TSW6 we have to pay for it.
Not going to buy TSW6, my support ends here. Might be the case ill pick some heavy sale bits from 1-2 years back in the future.
