There has been a previous thread about the significant number of missing timetable services on Xbox (for me, Series S), but I wanted to specifically mention how these affect James's timetable. For most engines, the majority of missing services are turnarounds which are instead completed by ai drivers in place of the player. While it'd be nice to be able to complete these manually, they're not a great loss. Percy is also missing his services that switch out Gordon's coach sets, presumably to have less rolling stock loaded in the game world, which is a small shame but no great loss for either Percy or Gordon. James, however, is missing multiple full journeys as his tanker and mail services in the morning and evening are completely absent. This results in the description of his first service of the day saying he 'returns' to Knapford despite not having made any journeys yet. I again assume this is to reduce the number of assets the game has to keep loaded at once, but I find this sacrifice to be rather disappointing given it results in James's timetable being nothing more than a mirror of Emily's as well as Percy and Diesel being the only engines to include any non-passanger services on their timetable. Add to that the fact that James is a paid add on and the issue only seems worse. I understand technical limitations are likely at play here, but if any changes can be made to reinstate missing services, I hope James's freight journeys would be at the top of the list. In the meantime, clearer information about differences between different versions of the game, such as on the FAQ page, would definitely be beneficial to avoid any customers feeling misled when purchasing the game on a platform that doesn't offer the same variety of content as others. If we're to receive any additional engines with timetables as future paid add ons, I hope any such differences are communicated from the off without players having to discover missing content for themselves.
I had the same experience on PS4 and was really dissapointed that the difference was not communicated whatsoever. James is the only engine with a proper freight service apart from the shunting you can do with Diesel and Percy. The fact that the only proper freight service has been removed means that the variety of services has been significantly decreased. I hope this is something Dovetail is working on and that they will consider that when producing future DLC:s
