Forums users: DTG give us more info about everything! DTG *delivers roadmaps* Forums user: stop putting things on the roadmap when you don't know the release date!!! DTG *does that* Forums users: Aw man why is the roadmap so dull and empty??
They are vague because when they are more open people just bombard the forums and pester everyone with "when is X releaseing" "why are we not getting pictures of X" "why was this shoved further down the roadmap" as usual people ruined it and i honestly dont blame DTG for being more vague.
From what has been said in both the roadmap articles and streams the partner program has grown by a significant amount
I'm convinced the UK route will be electric and introduce new traction that has a unique driving experience. Such as a Class 87 "tapper control" loco or slam door commuter trains. I expect updates to the random weather engine, completely new passenger system and some additional functionality in the Timetable mode.
Sarcasm will get you everywhere but it's not always obvious in the written form.... you are being sarcastic aren't you?
It read more as irony to me, though my missus doesn’t always appreciate the difference. Even a different opinion she brands as sarcasm. As said previously I think the UK route will undoubtedly be electric and almost certain to be set post 2010, so fans of the one handle can drool over their lollipop.
How insulting to all real drivers driving one handle trains. Like they are not real train drivers? I think you should apologise to those real drivers out there Vern
I am a real driver and drive one handled train it’s a hard skill to master lol. What’s hard for me is some trains I drove the PBC was driving using the right hand and others the left hand was a right pain.
You think you have that hard. Most of my trains only have a PBC to my left, but, and it does make me shiver thinking about this aspect, we still have these ancient relics where there are still two handles. I do not know what to do!
Eh up lad. Wait until they hand you the coal shovel and poker. Oh hang on, if it's the TSW Flying Scotsman it runs on reindeer dust.
Tbh, Year 2024, DTG been making since 2017? Long UK routes shouldn't even be a discussion. I hate half routes for example like ECML, No terminating station, I find it incredibly boring. We need These end to end long routes. WCML South being one of the highest requested. It has to be EUS to BNS and I would pay extra price if they were to do it and show it off amazingly in a preview stream.
As long as they have a logical end, that's good enough, although end to end would obviously be better.
Yea ofc mate. Even KGX to Doncaster as well would be really good. or York to Peterborough. As long as we got a Station where we can Terminate, Bring trains from the depot and then take that train to it destination I would love. It is the immersion and I feel like we have had less of that. I do really fear TSW 5 is coming. But only time will tell tho. If TSW 5 is to come, I would redeem it acceptable if the UK route is more than 75 miles and with a good station and traffic. But my expectations for this Roadmap, 158 release date I expect, maybe some sneak peeks of the British route? Slim chance tho. 380 ofc which is in 6 days time.
I expect it to be a very boring roadmap. They will be boring until the summer Dovetail Direct video is released in August.
I’m guessing the next roadmap focus may be the on the US route, guessing it will be the final route released before what’s next, provided it’s not delayed back to say TSW5, can’t really rule it out 3rd party content announced early does that.
One thing i have often wondered is when we get a new version of TSW take for example 3 - 4 at present as we dont know if 5 is a thing when the new version releases does that cause problems for the 3rd party content creators in terms of work they have already done needs to be redone or gone back over again and cause them longer development times.
That actually makes a lot of sense. Now that we have the editor for PC, does that mean anyone using it has to move there work over to the new game? I’m no expert but that seems like it would be hard to port over work.
If I remember right, anything on the editor will be compatible with a new TSW iteration unless the game engine changed.
The way I understand it is you would need the latest version of the game to use the editor, so if TSW 5 came out, you will have to buy it to continue using it.
Ah sorry I was talking about 3rd party developers like the ones in the road map sorry and there developments not general users sorry I should have been clearer
Well that was another rather vague and unexciting roadmap overall... What's the point of the roadmap if we now have to wait for Dovetail Direct instead?
I think the reason the last 3 roadmaps have been quieter then usual is because of the build up to TSW5 and not letting any information about the upcoming routes and locomotives... I feel it's going to be worth the wait.
