Oh woww this further goes to shows the lengths you guys have gone to for this route. The nameplates are incredible, the variation in liveries is great too! I can't wait to get this route. I'm loving the addition of the intercity livery and the special 08 livery and how you've given things small chances to spawn to make it more realistic. Genuinely can't wait to get my hands on this! :)

Im glad you've messed around with the locos a bit as well and cant wait to see how they handle now! :D

Can’t wait for this route. Massive thanks to JT for bringing such a vast range of bits and pieces to TSW that adds to the realism. TSG did it with Niddertalbahn and I can’t wait to see how they compare!

Not normally a BR era diesel fan, but the quality shown in the screen shots, and reworking some of the older trains is making this an instant day one purchase.

All of the locos shown in the update… This is seriously blowing the standards out of the water imo. The last time we got multiple liveries for a UK loco was the 66 on GWE!! IMG_5058.jpeg IMG_5059.jpeg IMG_5060.jpeg IMG_5061.jpeg IMG_5062.jpeg

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure this is also the first time in TSW history that we've had three liveries for one loco in the same route release. GWE had two 66s, Sand Patch had two liveries for each of the three locos in it, Niddertalbahn has the red livery made specifically for layering, but I don't think we've ever seen more than two within a route like this. The US heritage packs might be the only two that had more liveries in one release than this and they weren't even routes.

BPE ACS-64 had one Livery at first then it also got the TSW2 Ad livery added in a update

The weathering on all the stock looks superb! Hats of to the JT artists for some great attention to detail.
Looks like my prediction for a mid to late November release is pretty near the mark! I can't wait for this release.:)

Will the JT locos sub in on WSR plus on DTG Rail tours on other routes?

This release could not come sooner, but of course don't rush! Well done to JT you have all seemed to have gone above and beyond with this route. I honestly cannot put into words how impressed I am anymore. This route is going to be variety heaven. Out of interest is it still putting out decent frame rates across the board, with the layers, as there seems to be an awful lot of variation?

Not likely, DTG would have to incorporate this at their end.

That is really impressive considering how much variation there is with most of the existing BR diesels layering along with the various liveries for the 47 and 08.

Edit: Sorry just to check lowest end Xbox would be Xbox one wouldn't it, which is gen 8, which is even more impressive!

Well, I mean JT are giving it it's return that it's been begging for, so I suppose I'll have to cross it out. Give it a year without any more BR blue routes and it'll be back though!

Depends on if we get the it doesn't sell quotes....Still day one for me, was in at the start but the decent little extras such as names and liveries just add to the reasons to pick it up.

Yes still looking Day One for me, even though TSW has largely dropped off my radar at present for SimRail, TSC and Snowrunner. The latter in particular is so addictive it’s hard to put down. Maybe BPO will be the route that relights the spark for TSW.

Of course, it would be nice to know when Day 1 will actually be!

You best believe that people (probably myself included) are gonna be making Inter-City liveries for the MK2s to go with that loco.

Well for me day 1 purchais full price. Glad to see with this releases there is "a lot of meat on the bone".
Not saying DTG didnt put any effort into their dlcs, but they wasted so much potential on their addons, that i gave entirely up and didnt expect anything else than the "usual minimum".

They could have released a br blue class 20 as a second livery, but they didnt. A second cl.33 or 31 livery, but they didnt.
A steam loco or wagon dlc parallel to the Highly awaited and promoted spirit of steam release, but they didnt...

Glad to spend my money on "in my opinion" worthy releases, which this one is definetly part of it.

Imo DTG seem to think that the main selling point of a route is the actual route, going a bit half-arsed with the trains. The awesome detail of JT’s route is a obviously a huge selling point, but the time taken to add the extra liveries and to fine tune the stock adds far more value to the route imo than 15 extra miles would

I remember when the 33 was first announced and one of the things for it was that it would be available in several liveries. Obviously for whatever reason that didn't happen.

Probably DTG realized that TSWs core features doesnt support to manage liveries to period based routes. (And still doesnt now, means if you have a modern livery it would spawn in the mix also on a 1965 route).

Instead of solving the problem they just went with the minimum. The way they work is the very exact reason of the mess they are inside now. No chance they will ever get 1 updated version of a loco for all routes, no ressources to master this.

We are now on a stage where old content breaks on their yearly "trial" to release the franchais new. Tsw3 was never justified with the few visual changes.

The way they shot them self in the foot, i can just tell for my self that they lost me as a loyal customer of day 1 purchaises. Im still supporting, but ln sale instead.

Surely just apply the latest loco to all the dlc content folders that its applicable to. The only obstacle could be tutorials, but we’re told that Training Centre will change that anyway?

Exactly, and once we have the trains a decent mid 80s stable is available with liveries to boot. Here's to an early 90s North Wales Coast next......

I'm planning to torment my friend by putting the Pacer in a Northern livery, he's a Manchester local and has memories of almost getting whiplash on his way to town. Also looking forward to either making or downloading an Arriva livery as I grew up riding those to Barry Island in the summer, those and the Sprinters were what started me off with railways.

Now I only wish that the coupling with Rivet's 150 would work, but I remember reading somewhere further back that they scripted it wrong. I remember seeing a Sprinter + Pacer pairing on the Barry Island service once and even as a kid thought it was pretty weird. At least it will be compatible with the 158 though.

Yes I really hope the whole "BR diesels don't sell" argument evaporates as this route really is cracking up to be one of the, if not the, most atmospheric route yet. Ever since the era were worked out it has been a day one purchase for me, with all these extras really cementing it.

Loving the additional liveries and nameplates for the 47s!
Tiniest of niggles - the original 47/4s up to 47555 had the ETH box hanging over the top of the buffer beam, as in this pic

The current model has it in the later 47/8 configuration. Doesn’t really upset me, just half-noticed something looked a bit odd and took me a while to dust off the cobwebs :)

Oh yes. Still need a top & tail 27 pack for Edinburgh-Glasgow and a 25/3 for some mad thrashing around Lancashire IMHO :)

And an AC electric (my vote goes to the much-maligned 84!) for the Preston-Crewe extension …

The Wsr class 47 was converted to a 47/8 before they visually backdated the loco to D1661. I guess they didnt want to put too much effort into the loco and made the 47/4 based on the wsr, probably without even noticing it.

The Detail with the Eth can be overseen quickly.

We shall see, quite why the era that sells massive amount of models, fills nostalgic railtours and large attendance in most areas wouldn't sell in train sim is puzzling. I lot of people I know still dabbled in TSC for the sim fix who have an interest in that era but naturally TSC is slowing right up on the new release front. TSW is slowly succeeding it with features such as free roam. This Blackpool route release will be a watershed moment for older content as if it sells well could bin that argument for new stuff only.

Well model railways are expensive and people who are able to afford the hobby tend to be older people who would've grown up in the BR era, personally I'd love to see more post privatisation models but some are just ridiculously expensive (anywhere from £250 to £600 for an EMU and the LT Museums S-Stock model particularly comes to mind for that last price bracket) so train simulators are a good alternative because they have the potential to be affordable and can cater to a wide variety of products.

In my opinion it didnt sell well because all the wasted potential. Modern Era is maybe more popular, but they should habe approached routes like sos entirely different (making the timetable more interesting).

I certainly hope this route is a great success and will lead to more of the same. This route shaping up to be possibly the best TSW route for me. It is in my favourite period with a variety of rolling stock and services. I love the attention to detail and the quality of the modelling. It is a day one purchase for me for certain. All we need now is smellovision for the complete 1980's experience, oh some mark 1's in blue/grey would have been good to see too.

It would be great to see older routes like NTP bought up to these standards with a new timetable. I do have a fear we will see little older period content from DTG. I have a feeling their experiment with steam might have ended, they have added nothing to the lacklustre and unrealistically quiet timetable on SOS and I certainly can't see them revisiting it now and PFR always feels like half a route, again with a quiet timetable (I believe that might be addressed at some point though). It has some innovative features and is lovely as a model.

And of course hearing that apparently BR blue doesn't sell is a bad portent for seeing much more of that content from DTG, hopefully this JT route will prove that BR blue does sell.

Up to date models with sound are. But many buy second hand or discounted. If I was to add up modelling spend and Train sim spend not far apart if a PC is in the sums. I can also sell models on again sometimes with a value increase. That's not possible in train sim once money is spent its gone....

Yes I agree about resale value and that's one good thing about scale models, I tend to think of it like art pieces which increase in value and I often use that thought process to justify the spending. I guess my point was that people will spend money on what they are familiar with, and people into model railways tend to be older because they can afford it so will have more products suited to that era (of course there are some young scale modellers), while many young people will be into train sims (again you'll still get some older gamers) and so will have lots of modern content available to them.

BR diesels would sell just as well as anything in TSW if they had a constant flow of wagons and coaches to compliment them.
DOTGW should have gotten mk1s in service formations alongside the mk2s.

Using 1983 fitted locos in modern stock moves on new routes along with MK2a coaches. Whilst adding extra services. Could do with an upgrade. Maybe even a Railtour pack for training centre. Mk2a mk3 coaches. Or a retrofitted 20,31,37 (excuse to fix the wide nose or a 47 (most of the work exists on the WSR version).

There's a lot of crossover interest in both worlds, UKTS used to take their roadshow to Warley and the like as a natural platform to promote at. Many of us in middle age and beyond also have experience of using Computers at work for many decades.

Blue grey Mk1s (Passenger) and some air braked speedlink vans or Cargowaggons are missing links in the TSW stock lists.
