Bedford? 50 miles (roughly), terminus of Thameslink + depot, plenty of intercity trains stop either there or at Luton (or sometimes both). While Leicester would be nice, and it's just within possibility for DTG (almost exactly 100 miles, there's also a 7 mile branch to Corby) provided they can get the autogen working properly) now Sherman Hill is out, for JT however, right now I think Bedford would be much more reasonable (not for their first route, of course). You say Leicester's too far given previous routes, we'd have been saying the same about Sherman Hill even just a year ago Give it a year or two and it may well be possible.
Bedford would be more ideal, and for the Thameslink core, Blackfriars would be better as drivers swap over here in real life.
I suppose you could go to Kettering as a reasonable compromise. Depending what era the route was set in could include the short spur to Cohens Scrapyard at Cransley or even Corby, though having looked at the ironstone lines in that area think that could form a period DLC in its own right!
I'd say it'd be something like St. Pancras to Bedford if they did make a route for TSW. 51 miles end to end.
I think 100 miles of southern/midlands England would involve a LOT more assets and detailed route building than 100 miles of American high plains or forested mountains.
I hope they deliver the same quality seen on the MML because so far that is their best route, very picturesque and the AP weather pack helps further enhance their work. The Met line was good but not as good as MML. I wonder what they will bring to the TSW2 table!# Nice, very good news
I reckon it'll be another part of the GWR network, Riviera Line perhaps. I keep hoping they're working on an S-stock for TSW2 for the District Line section of a C2C route made by DTG. I can only dream. Their choice of routes in TS has been dictated by their use of Kuju models, so their strategy in TSW2 may also be closely allied to DTG rolling stock that's currently in-game. So, Southern, South Eastern or GWR if it's a modern route, anywhere there's no OHL if it's BR era.
