For some reason Caledonia Work's sales and discount always apply only to their steam engines, not to the freight packs. I dunno why this is the case, but that's the same how it has been for all the sales I ever saw. Yeah I see what you mean, they could have phrased the promo description in a less ambiguous manner for sure. But to clear it up: I understand that the promo applies to all steam engines with the exception of their most recent release: The P2/P3 What is outside the promo are all the freight and coach packs, all well as the two standalone weathered livery packs.
It would be great if CW included rolling stock in their sales. I’d buy a lot more from them. Armstrong Powerhouse include everything as do Stream Sounds Supreme, Digital Traction and others.
Steam lunar sale ended yesterday on Steam but is continuing via DTG. I expect a Digital Traction and RSSLO sales this month too.

Odd. Suedbahn -Bruck an der Mur – Maribor is listed as a requirement for scenarios for one but is not available?
Ah. They need to fix the link on the train's page, then. Also fun when the DLC drift issue crops up; they also require a 15 Euro train for scenarios on the route, it seems.
Yes, the Maribor section, being in Slovenia is at 3kv dc and that is what the SZ 363 electric is for but the scenarios could be run using an OBB 1293 multi voltage. There is usually a way.
Is that not the same for ANY DLC you buy? Buy a Loco/Unit DLC and you will need a route to run the Scenarios that come with it - if you don't have it there is an extra cost. Most people buy a Loco/Unit because they want it for other routes.
Thank you IB, I do browse on my iPhone and did not realise posts were numbered. I tried searching for 1111 etc but found nothing. I am grateful hj48, for the explanation.
I'm talking about a route DLC. With loco DLC, you pretty much have to buy a route regardless, but having to buy a loco for a route DLC is not a normal strategy unless you're Just Trains and selling a route for $45 USD.
How is buying the Loco/unit DLC from RSSLO different to DTG? If I buy the Norfolk Southern GP38-2 High Hood Loco Add-On https://store.steampowered.com/app/..._Norfolk_Southern_GP382_High_Hood_Loco_AddOn/ I then have to buy the Norfolk Southern Coal District route if I wish to run the enclosed scenarios Virtual Railroads are one of the few DLC sellers that don't give you any scenarios With virtually all the other Loco/Unit DLC you need to own a route to run the scenarios with that DLC
I think the point that Cyclone is making in this instance is that with the Bruck - Graz - Maribor route you need the SZ363 to run the Slovenian border to Maribor section and that is extra. The bulk of the route is in Austria just the southern last bit is in Slovenia. OBB1293 can be used but as the SZ363 was in the sale at 50% off the “problem” may have been resolved.
I'm glad I don't buy Loco/Unit DLC for the scenarios that come with it - look at the fuss people make about AP DLC.

Look out for a possible RSSLO sale on Monday. https://www.rsslo.com Last year, they had one on Valentine’s Day only for the day. You never know, they could repeat it. However they didn’t have one in 2019 or 2020, but hopefully they will have another sale soon, if not on Monday.
I'm curious what SSS is doing for sales now. Their freeware now includes a high-end version of WSR, but requires their Stainmore route. It also requires Watercress Line, which to my knowledge has never been discounted from its ridiculously high price at Just Trains.
SSS are in the process of developing a new route but they said last night that they won’t be revealing it until it’s finished. They also produced a freeware version of the Watercress line Mid Hants “Over the Alps”
It still requires the one from JT. And I can't agree with a $30 USD price tag for a ten mile line. Just not worth it for a route with only four stations on it. Might as well be the Falmouth Branch, which is much cheaper and has updated versions available for it as well. If they are not revealing their new route, this tells me that it will be a payware route. If it was freeware, they probably would be discussing it.
I'm sorry I don't understand why you are discussing an unreleased route and a free route in a sale thread.
Yeah, I seem to have once again made a comment that led to derailing (thanks for the pun Reef ) the thread. Back on the rails we go.
If anyone is interested in German Steam DLC Just stumbled across this tonight:- BR 95 in 4 livery variations and 3 different driving modes. https://www.justtrains.net/product/romantic-railroads-br95 Currently reduced from £19.99 to £11.99 FREIGHT WAGONS AND FEATURES R10 Stake wagons with various loads DB R10 with brakeman's hut and wooden crate of the Kopania & Co. Berlin DB R10 with brakeman's platform, no side stakes, loaded with a large steel pipe DB R10 with side stakes and classic wooden mover's van of the Kopania & Co. forwarding company DR R10 with side stakes and wooden crate of the VEB Company DR R10 with side stakes and small wooden crate of the VEB Company DR R10 with brakeman's platform, no side stakes, loaded with a large steel pipe All these stake wagons can be loaded/unloaded with the supplied custom-built overhead cranes. CUSTOM OBJECTS The BR 95 scenarios include many custom period objects for you to see and interact with as you drive. These include: Maintenance facilities for servicing oil-burning locos that include small oil-storage with oil-filling facility, stand-alone oil-filling facility, oil-storage with oil-filling device and a small loco shed with operating doors when a train is approaching Animated figures inside, outside and behind the loco shed Small animated coaling crane Coaling operation by an animated DR digger Animated loading gauge, operating when a train is approaching Two different overhead cranes to load and unload the included wagons (six different loads can be loaded) All this and more for £11.99? it was a no-brainer for me, and it is one fantastic loco.
Romantic Railroads stock is in general on perma-discount. I have not seen them off sale prices for a while. I just wish older JT stuff would get discounts too, as there are a couple I would consider. The Mid Hants, for instance, is not worth it for $30 USD. A ten mile route with no included loco.
The BR 95 were built for use in the mountainous region south of Gera and Saalfeld which after 1945 was in the Soviet area of Germany, later the DDR. They were very powerful tank engines and their small diameter driving wheels made them ideal for the purpose. Passenger speeds were low in the DDR and especially so in the mountains but steep grades were the norm. They were a pre WWI design but lasted until the end of Steam in the DDR which was officially 1970 but actually the 1980s.
As I previously mentioned RSSLO have announced a two day Valentines Sale on all products but the discount of 20% is disappointing. Bought all the remaining scenarios packs but will wait for a bigger discount hopefully in their next sale, if like last year, at the end of the month. https://www.rsslo.com Code VALENTIN22
Announcing Steam Next Fest, a multi-day celebration of upcoming games. Explore and play hundreds of game demos, watch developer livestreams, and chat with teams about their games in progress, coming soon to Steam. Save the date! Next Fest will take place February 21-28, 2022 @10AM Pacific. 6pm GMT
They had one last year at the beginning of October which did not include DTG products, so not hopeful. If not DTG normally run a March Madness sale so not long to wait for some more bargains. RSSLO had a sale this time last year. Their February Sale was on 19th-24th 30% off all products. Not had word on it this year so we will wait and see.
Are these a bargain? https://store.dovetailgames.com/uk/sale Prices ranging from £40-£80!!! Are these the prices for the future?
I think the 'prices' are actually the % discount they wanted to apply. Looks like they gave the task to the apprentice and didn't supervise them!
80 pounds? Brilliant. That must be an amazing loco. Instant buy, clearly. Cannot get this quality. Of course, I got it for maybe $6 CAD already. Possibly not even worth that, I have yet to play it.
Hahaha... just saw the prices in US dollars... $40 - $80! I'll pass on this "sale." Edit: Replaced Canadian with US. I tend to forget that DTG's site does not include Canadian pricing. The exchange rate for the times I did buy from there did not seem good either.
It doesn't even look like they've noticed it yet lol. As much as I was going to expand my NA collection, i think I'll pass
