No worries, someone might not have seen it. It is a very good discount for a pre-release, hope it is continued for the future. Makes sense to me as products are usually 25% off in a couple of months and could encourage more to buy on release. I wonder what could be on offer on Monday, but remember steam and DTG selected discounts end on Monday.
I agree John, I have it and at 40% it is a bargain. Well above RSSLO normal discounts so recommend those that haven’t previously purchased it to grab a real bargain, only available until tomorrow.
Hmmm, but, the BR245 is only an AI locomotive isn't it, so, you can swap it out for any diesel you have on your hard drive, I imagine. However, what is strange is that the BR245 is also featured in the other route Allgäubahn and it's drivable, and has recently been given a brand new soundpack on the German simming website, so, it's all very confusing. Cheerz. Steve.
After watching the promo video I believe the BR245 is driveable, it is the ÖBB 1016 that is AI. I'll tell you later for definate when I download it. LOL [UPDATE] Have just installed the route & am happy to confirm the BR245 is indeed driveable. I might still heed John's advice though and clone the scenarios to make a BR218 version as I have the vR super duper version.
I was going to say the same thing, but it had not been mentioned yet in this thread. And this is the "Latest Sales" thread. So it counts here.
Caledonia Works Southern Railway Sale 30% off with code SRVEG https://caledoniaworks.com/southern...6cwuAUY55p80YmjDNqC_C3LrgfeyV169MtSbRHk_TKYrw Lasts until Wednesday night.
Same. Quite frustrated by it to be honest. I've only got back into Train Sim Classic/2022 since the end of last year and have a number things on my wishlist. Was awaiting their Easter/April sale which they have had as far back as I can remember (at least 6 or 7 years) with anticipation. I am loathed to spend full price, mainly on principle but also because I feel some of their packs are overpriced at full whack.
Agreed. Without sales, and knowing how prices convert here, they are overpriced. I only got what I did because of sales. Money is unfortunately an object. I have at most two or three more items on the agenda (sadly, one more was removed), but am not in a hurry to buy them. The incentive of paying less benefits both parties here.
If companies can afford to do so many sales, that proves prices are overpriced. Money I have spare for the AP sale is now spent elsewhere. I feel that they may have one for the Jubilee holiday celebration at the beginning of next month, but they could have competition from Steam and others. Good to see Glasgow Subway offered for £14.99 for the week of release, hope this will be a trend for the future, as it would encourage me and others to spend before waiting for any sales.
A few items on sale at steam: https://store.steampowered.com/sear...&specials=1&publisher=Dovetail+Games+-+Trains
55% is a decent discount on recently reduced products, hopefully more to follow. Unfortunately I have those nine routes.
Bristol Swansea at 55% maybe to upgrade my older Bristol route. I dont think it will get better than 60% anyway soon..
G2A is a grey market key re-seller which is something some people may choose not to support. Further information for people who would like to learn more: https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/2yhlw4/key_resellers_and_what_they_mean_for_you
totally agree was surprised no sale over Easter like previous years or a flash sale on the bank holiday. spoke to someone else who says they asked AP and basically got the usual “we don’t announce sales etc etc”. Amusing part I told told AP replied was “if we do sales people don’t buy at full price”. Lol but you would think by doing a sale you would actually earn MORE as more people will buy.
There are a number of companies selling DLC for the game who have very few sales Virtual Railroads comes to mind as one If people want something they will pay full price for it.
I received the same comment from AP sales “we don’t announce sales”, but feel we may be in for a surprise at the end of the month.
would love to think you are right but giving the fact this is the first year in countless years no Easter sale or Flash bank holiday sale i think AP have the attitude of "you pay full price and that is it" Speak to majority people in teh community and they are all doing the same thing holding money knowing full well a sale is normally at easter then that has past so is not and wont buy for fear a sale will happen. Surley as a buisness AP is loosing more money than they would make if they done a 24 hour sale for example.
With the sharp rise now in the cost of living which includes high petrol and electricity price rises, more and more players will wait for sales. Many think they like to get a bargain and will buy in sales. If there is something I want like TSW2 spirit of steam and TS Classic, I will buy on release. Anything that is a luxury or something that looks a bargain price, I buy in a sale.
The higher cost of living is causing a vicious circle. AP is not willing to hold as many (or any) sales now due to the lost income as a result of the sale. The problem is, the people waiting for the sale are likely those who can't afford that kind of price and are going to never buy unless it's on sale. AP has to bite the bullet and hold a sale sooner or later if they want these people to buy. Lowering the sale frequency is, I think, going to actually hurt them more as those people will spend the money they can afford somewhere else, and not at AP. So having a sale at least quarterly (every three months) is possibly the best move here, but they are going in the opposite direction from their "every four months" strategy. That will hurt them in the end, I suspect, and sales will return. The other option, when every single scenario at ATS constantly needs a growing number of AP products and additional ATS reskins, is promoting piracy by overpricing everything. You have to hit the line where you're not doing that.
Problem for anyone outside of the UK have to convert to local currency. There for those in Australia such as myself are theoretically paying double due to the exchange rate between GBP and AUD. It's a wonder AP don't have a budget range like SSS, with older sound packs re released (365/465, 150/153, 24/25/26, 350/360/380/444/450, etc). Can't afford the full EP? buy the sound pack that overwrites the DTG model. Would be great as that way older reskins available would actually work.
You can also directly edit the BIN file to have the same sound references and such as the main model. That is a possible way to remove the sound pack. The complication is if a scenario calls on any particular scripts bundled with the sound pack.
Some people don't like the EP or Stand alone packs with the extended features so more people would buy the Sound Packs That takes sales away One of the reasons the Sound packs have slowly disappeared
good point. Also if a sound pack does exist like we do when the higher priced “enhancement pack” is due for release the sound pack disappears
To be fair, the EP is the better option of the two anyway because you get more liveries with it. The 57 is a good example, as one would be able to work in about eleven different liveries (by my count and with research) that have existed over its lifetime, with some numbers being able to sport multiple liveries by time period. So it would be a much better option than a basic sound pack, anyway, and I hope I'm right that it's coming in that form. (I'm not looking forward to what the price would be...) There are also cases where an EP is not the best option. 700, I'm looking at you. So few liveries in that pack that I think a sound pack would have been sufficient, but they rushed that one out. I think it was priced based on "This is the only option for anything of this type".
Digital Traction have yet another sale. 40% off all Steam locos we sell with code “Steam40” in your cart. 25% off all Rolling stock we sell with code “Stock25” in your cart. Ends 15th May 2022. https://digitaltraction.co.uk/mainsite/ Also don’t forget you can get 30% off everything at SSS which also ends on the 15th as well. https://steamsoundssupreme.com/
Oh, well, thank you for checking that, I have the 1016 in drivable condition from their website anyway, and I have one included with Arlbergbahn: Innsbruck - Bludenz route add-on, and the DTG model from Semmering DLC, which might be the same model now I come to think about it, so, I generally ignore included AI locos these days if I have an alternative to play with. Cheerz. Steve.
New batch of sales on Steam and DTG store. Up to 75%. Half are US routes, but also German and UK content.
Hudson Line showed up in mine. It seems I own everything else. I seem to be at the point of "sales aren't meaningful" at this stage.
Just a reminder that Digital Traction and Steam Sounds Supreme sales end tomorrow. SSS customer support is extremely poor. I contacted them about a couple of products before I purchased and haven’t received a response inspite of two reminders. They must be so busy not to respond so not buying this time. Steam have a sale starting May 26th, but unlikely to have any or many TSC or TSW2 products, seeing that they are selecting a few products for sale every week at the moment.
Pity about SSS in your case. As for Steam, and sales here, this is normal. Outside of big events they only put a small subset up at a time. If the big summer sale comes next month and there aren't discounts everywhere, that's when to worry.
Not so much a sale, but more of a heads up for those that might not be aware. Backdated Train Sim have updated the Conwy Valley Line to merge with the updated TFW North Wales Coastal Route. Certainly reccomend, an absolutely beautiful little top quality add on that adds the Llandudno Junction to Blaenou Ffestiniog branch line to what is already a cracking route. https://backdatedtrainsim.weebly.com/conwy-valley-line.html
Thinking of purchasing Horseshoe Curve in the Steam Midweek Madness Sale on until this Thursday at 6pm. This is a TSW2 route but nothing for Train Simulator Classic though, maybe something in the Open Sale which starts on the 26th, but not holding out for anything.
So do we think there will be a TSC sale in the next few days or couple of weeks? Seriously thinking of redirecting my pre payment from the increasingly flawed looking SoS in TSW, to more safer bets in Classic.
I realistically think that the next TSC sale will definitely commence on June 23rd, but there is a Steam Open day starting May 26th. You never know there may be a sale over the Jubilee weekend, 70% off would be nice
Caledonia Works ***FLASH SALE*** 20% Off DLC using promo code "Psalm 28:1" Sale ends Sunday & does not include rolling stock or add-on packs.

Beat me to it. Though I still think the sale should be on the entire site, not just a select range of products. Let people pick a minimum amount in the cart and use a coupon code at the checkout to register half price savings, for instance. Would let people get a shot at some of the older products they'd had their eyes on, or perhaps a shot at some scenario packs. However, four routes for $60 (even in USD) isn't too bad.
