Xbox Series X Launching The Game From Dashboard Makes My Series X Restart

Yesterday, I was running a service on the antelope valley line and had to leave so I saved the game and turned off the console. Today, I launch the game and it shows that it's booting from quick resume. A few seconds later I'm looking at the pause menu of my service from when I saved it last night.

At this point everything looks normal and I should be able to unpause the game and continue. However my controller has no impact on the menu. It looks frozen.

Then my screen goes black and I'm assuming I'm going to crash to dashboard, but instead my console restarts and I'm greeted with the Xbox splash screen. A few seconds later I'm signing in and I'm on the dashboard with no error message from Xbox. So I go to launch the game again, and my console restarts again. No quick resume this time.

Now I uninstall and reinstall the game, but before launching it I hold down the power button to turn my console off. I left it powered off for a minute and turned it back on. Launching the game from dashboard made it restart.

I then launched Call of duty, MLB The show, other games and that works. I then launched TSW 3 and the same thing happened!!!!

I think there's a problem with having both copies of the game installed at the same time. I had 55 add-ons for TSW 3 totaling 200 GB, and I have the deluxe edition installed for TSW4.

I don't understand why but this is the first time ever where two different games suffer from the same issue.

I am uninstalling TSW3 completely and will update

 

TSW 3 is now uninstalled, and after that I played a different game completely to refresh the memory.

Launching TSW 4 works now! I can play it after uninstalling tsw3!

 

In case the problem comes back, if you press xbox button then scroll down to your game and press options then quit it will clear the game from Quick Resume, handy for if a game gets stuck in a loop.

 

Update: game was working fine for the past 6 or so hours. I'm literally playing on Dresden right now, and hit the pause button to use the bathroom. I came back to my Xbox at the dashboard asking me to sign in, as if my console got turned off. I sign in, launched the game and my console restarts. I do not have Train Sim world 3 installed anymore so at this point I think it's an issue with the build of the game. Can anyone look into this? DTG JD

 

Now my console restarts after launching the game, only to restart immediately without any input. I'm stuck in a boot loop. any help? DTG Alex

 

When it first happened I had 55 add-ons installed for tsw3, and I just installed TSW 4 deluxe edition. The first time this happened was after I tried launching game through quick resume after turning on my Xbox after a day of inactivity. I saw the splash screen for a few seconds and then the game loaded up into my service, ready to continue where I left off. Except my game froze and then the power light on my Xbox flashed as it restarted itself.

Since then I have uninstalled tsw3 completely and it was working for a little bit, but the game crashed a second time when I went to go get a drink. Left the game on pause and came back to my dashboard, probably after cycling it's power.

Now here's where it gets crazy. After launching the game a few minutes later, it only gets to the splash screen before it restarts my console. My console will restart show me the splash screen, and will try to show me the dashboard. Before the dashboard loads the power light will flash and it restarts. Repeating the process forever.

I actually had to put my Xbox into safe mode and reset it to stop the boot loop. Now it's in the position where I can play any game I want except for tsw4 as that will most likely make my console restart.

I will do a clean install today, and then power cycle my Xbox before trying to play it

 

I did a clean install, restarting my Xbox by unplugging the power cable for 30 seconds and plugging it back in, and went to launch the game from dashboard. It got to the blue splash screen and the white dots began to spin before they freeze and my console starts to restart.

 

I have new information! I reset my console again by going into safe mode and it now works again! Whenever I get to the point where I can no longer launch the game without it restarting my Xbox, if I go into safe mode and reset it the game will launch! Will keep you updated as I play throughout the day

 

I quit the game out when I finished a service, and from there launched Microsoft Edge.... and my console restarted. ugh.
