Okay so now you're definitely trolling.

You can't submit a foia request to a private company.

Well maybe people get enjoyment out of their products! It might be a strange concept to some but we are all perfectly at liberty to spend money as we like and are not somehow being forced to "give" money for something we can't stand.

Frankly I find it odd and baffling that people hang out on a forum of a company they loathe producing a game they can't possibly be playing judging by their comments.

Personally if I thought TSW was rubbish I would uninstall it and you'd never see me here again, I would have better things to do.

Correct unless they are providing a public service.

I think the $1 million dollar plus cost of a professional simulator kind of puts it out of most peoples price range.

I'm also pretty sure if DTG had the capability to create such a program it would take more than 1 computer to run it. And they wouldnt sell it to the general public, they would sell it to actual companies for millions of dollars.

If you posted this first, you would have 100% of the people that posted in this thread on your side.

Also completely unrelated, but how old do you think console players are? Most actual young people play more on mobile now than they do on console. Console players are usually in the millennial or Gen X age group, and they are now pretty old in regards to gamers lol.

And how do you know those players doing loop the loops are all console players? You can also turn off multi-player and it nips that problem in the bud. I have been known to try a loop in the A2A Comanche and that isn’t necessarily a cheap DLC by the way. Most of the time I try and fly as realistically as possible, I.e filling out a paper flight plan for my VFR flights, using SayIntentions for my IFR flights, computing needed fuel for the duration of the flight, but at times, just firing up the J3 Cub and burning holes in the sky around my home airport. As I stated before, it is a tool that you can decide on how to approach your entertainment. Being an older simmer (pushing 70), I am glad the programs allows me to just have some fun at times.

My Grandfather was an early aviation pioneer that worked with Cessna, Beach and Stearman when they all worked at Travel air, barnstormed through the 20s, had his own airplane manufacturing company (lead designer for the Pheasant Aircraft Company), taught Joe Foss how to fly and was a crop duster until he passed in the ‘60s. I still remembering how he bemoaned the fact aviation became too over regulated latter in his life to take the fun out of general aviation. So I find it refreshing that one can relieve those early less regulated days in the sim.

As far as TSW goes, you again have the choice on how to approach driving a train. If one had to realistically know the route and sign off before they could drive that section and would then repeat that run over and over again would find few would enjoy the realism. If you don’t want to look for items, walk through the stations, then don’t! But don’t bemoan those that find such activities entertaining. Just be thankful you have those choices.

I was born in the latter years of Millennial and culturally Gen Z and I use a PC and play mobile games. I am not sure what the OP is defining "Younger"...

Unfortunately, as DTG holds information on companies associated with a public service, such as licensing agreements with TOC’s, then yes you could obtain information from them.

Also searches online relating to previous employment at DTG on glass-door for example are interesting to read, and confirm some of the concerns around the quality of products being released.

Call me what you like, there doesn’t seem to be any quality control on here anyway by the looks of it, and yes I did buy the product myself which entitles me to have an opinion on it. Especially when I do it for a profession, which a lot of you are probably jealous of in the first place.

The fact as well that this entire thread has now turned into a one sided argument protecting your game and purely against me with personal insults as well.

    [EDIT - Jan - Inflammatory]

But when you market it at children, give them a forum and include thomas the tank, what do you expect.

We are being disrespectful, take a look in mirror, have you actually read what you have written.

So saying everyone is jealous of you means you are mature. At least the majority of people on these forums who complain bring up valid arguments without insulting the entire community.

You want an entire new game and it seems to me your just trying to rile people up.

BTW your talking to retired engineer as it was still called when I started. 5 years freight and 25 years LRT. And I am definitely not jealous of you.

8 hours a day doing the same runs over and over was not an exciting job alot of coffee involved. And stress as you close into stations on whether someone is going to slip, fall or jump in front of you.

All things I don't miss. I'll take my hour long runs on TSW over that any day. Oh wait I do.

70 year old console player. I'm not afraid to say PC tech has passed me by and I can't be bothered with it. So I thank DTG for giving me what they can.

And where are these personal insults the only ones I see are coming from you directed at the entire community.

No one said you are wrong on here all we have said is what you are asking for is unfeasable.

So chill have a tea and call it a night.

Clearly DTG knew its target audience when they launched Thomas the Tank Engine. A perfect fit for this level of baseless bloviation of blather. Just to add, I am sure a lot of children will know Thomas starts with a capital T, not a lowercase one as demonstrated in your sentence. ;)

if the purpose was to reach children, tsw tycoon already exists for that
tsw is going from bad to worse and you are applauding... see for example the problem of blurred textures on consoles... the same problem of tsw5 is repeated today in tsw6 while you defend the uselessness of tsw (masteries, collectibles and all that LOVE) while what really matters, simulation, realism and quality control, as I pointed out previously, is going from bad to worse...

I’m fairly new to this forum and this is the funniest sentence I’ve read here so far and I don’t think it will be topped. You’ve gained yourself a fan.

This thread is the text based version of the slow descent into insanity, the further you read in it the steeper that drop becomes, we are at warp factor 10 and still picking up speed.......

You are being disrespectful by making assumptions about users.

I am not remotely jealous, I love the railways and would have like to have worked in them in BR days, not now. I wouldn't like the hours now. My nine to five job allows me to pursue my other hobbies.

It isn't my simulator and I am perfectly well aware of where it feels inadequate and say so where I feel moved to do so. I base my approach to this forum based on my view of the sim. Which is generally that I get enjoyment out of it but not without frustrations but DTG have been steering the same course for years so they must feel It works whether we 100% agree with It or not which I don't. However it feels realistic enough to me.

As for Glassdoor it is often used by disgruntled sacked employees to tarnish their former employers reputation, I have seen it myself. I would take what is written on there as gospel.

Submit your FOI I would be interested to see if you get anywhere, DTG don't provide a public service. I do wonder if this isn't just a bit of an ego trip frankly.

    Good morning folks,

As Harry's friendly reminder to maintain respect and civility clearly had no impact, I am now closing this thread.

Let me be clear: all opinions are welcome, but they must be expressed in a friendly and respectful manner. Constructive criticism and praise are encouraged, but name-calling and trolling will not be tolerated.

Additionally, please be aware that violating our forum rules can result in temporary or permanent bans. If you wish to remain a part of this community, I urge you to take these warnings seriously.

    All the best,
    Jan
