Why don't choose create modern version and include BR103 as historical special services timetable.

It was already explained by Matt at DTG that he wanted to make it set further in the past so there is more older content in game and to bring the iconic 103 and older passenger coaches. More details on why was mentioned in the summit stream and roadmap streams. This is the only german route that is set before 2000. Bremen Oldenburg is still new since it's set in 2009. A modern timetable would be nice, but it's time to see some older content since almost all german content is set in modern day. I personally like seeing routes that are set in different eras from tsc. The tsc version was modern day I believe. This is set in the past which I like.

Why has there been a distinct lack of marketing/articles for this route? If you compare the marketing about this one to previous recent releases I know far less about this then I did about others?
I mean the first thing we know about its release was when the preview stream was included.

Based on past releases, dlcs are usually released a week after a livestream, so that's where he got the conclusion from

This is unavailable and silly.. do not write this kind off stuff without the notification "I think" or "I presume".... There is a big possibility that's Tuesday du to the amount off dlcs that's coming this 2 weeks... So this I my point of view no official confirmation now!

I am not as bothered by the 401 as many seem to be. As an AI "scenery" train twice a day it's pretty unobtrusive, and when it whooshes by at a hundred miles an hour the narrow traffic-red stripe would be hard to tell from the narrow Orient-red-with-purple-underline stripe; the interior would never be seen.

    Whereas a 110, whatever the color, looks NOTHING like a 140, 150 or 151.

But then they would call attention to themselves as unfinished. Having some sort of text, any text, creates a different impression. On modern German routes, how often do you actually read the PIS boards unless you're on foot and actively trying to catch a train? Mostly, and always when driving, you just register "PIS screen has words on it"

He did have a point though. There's 5 dlc releasing by the end of this month if everything goes well. There's only 3 weeks which means 5-6 days a dlc could release since they tend to release on Tuesday or Thursday. Didn't know it was actually made official but if it didn't appear, it could have been Tuesday

Interesting that there’s no article yet. Usually there is one before a preview stream. They’re cutting it a bit fine.

With this route being set in the 90s, does that mean we are probably never going to see this route in a modern-day form?

never say never, but if you look at DLC released for but TSC & TSW theres only a handful of DTG routes ever been released in multiple eras, so whilst not impossible it will get released in modern day times it is highly unlikely.

Amazing. We finally after six years get our first and only 20th century German route from DTG, and already the plastic-train set are demanding it join all the other soulless modern routes.

I'd argue a lot of players would highly disagree that modern routes are 'soulless'... :|

In fairness, the routes themselves aren't generally soulless - although SKW comes close - but the rolling stock is, except for the 612 and the quirky old 363 which actually have personalities.

Is it just me or do i think that the Bremen-Oldenburg and now Linke Rheinstrecke has some strange light conditions?
It looks so overexposed or oversaturated? Dont know if this is the correct description for that.... in simple words it looks like there is too much light. On other routes like Cane Creek or Ruhr-Sieg-Nord the light conditions during sunny weather look much better.
Additional to that there is kinda decent fog which make it not better.

Cane Creek and Ruhr-Sieg-Nord have the old lighting system TOD3, while TSW3-routes have the new one: TOD4

The newer lighting system makes the brights really bright and the darks dark. The old lighting system is much better in balancing lights and darks

i dont see the advantage of the new system in this case. I would say it looks just worse.

the old system made everything look incredibly washed out in my opinion, I much prefer the newer one

I prefer the new lighting, but I think the eye adaption needs to be reduced a lot.

It also does make ballast look shiny and washed out in high sunlight conditions, sometimes to blinding levels IMO. Still needs some tweaking, though it also looks good in a lot of other situations. I just tend to go for rainy and cloudy conditions because of it.

I prefer the TOD4, but I agree, those two german routes look way to bright. Brighter than usual. I'm glad to hear you noticed it too. Might be something off there.

To be fair, whenever something modern comes out, it's the same but the other way around.

Why are the 2nd class Coaches bpmz instead of the bvmz advertised in the Roadmap?
Bvmz dont have only open seating as the Coach in game, they have a mixture of open seating and compartments.

Continuing on that, are there any plans to add the Bvmz, since it was mentioned in the roadmap and the livestream, or was it just an typo?

I'm leaning towards typo, since both coaches are revamps of the existing IC coaches (Avmmz and Bpmmz)

Probably for the same reason the 103 has its skirts - they didn’t fact check properly.

I would say it's just because the marketing copywriter screwed up, didn't notice and probably doesn't know the difference. But the in-game coach is properly marked Bpmz.
    ----------------
The 103 is a rather different business: the reference example DTG were permitted to survey (I would venture) still has its apron and buffer fairings, so that's what they reproduced.

Do correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure no 103 with apron exists today. They simply did not research the history of the 103 correctly, which surprises me given how often it was stressted that this was a passion project of Lukas. So it seems to me, at least. Pity, as I find the apron-less 103 much more pleasing to the eye.

I am getting more and more mystified as to what DTG's model was. Lamplight appears to be correct- aside from the prototype 002, none of those which are still in running condition can be it. 222, 226, 235 and 245 have the long cab (and no apron), 113 has red frame rails (and no apron), and 118 also has no apron. I am sill looking for pics of static museum locos- there are 12 of them

    EDIT: I have eliminated 101, 167, 184, 224 and 233. No aprons anywhere.

This site should have all of them: https://eisenbahn-museumsfahrzeuge....nfahrzeuge/elektrolokomotiven/baureihe-e-03-1

Also, E 03 002 doesn’t have an apron either. On an unrelated note, it looks dreadful again.

OK, now I am really bemused. Of the 17 103s still in existence, not one has aprons.

Is it possible that instead of an actual loco, DTG worked from builders' plans?

Pure speculation, but could it be that they have chosen an older variant 103 on purpose for even older dlc content for TSW? Maybe a proper TEE at some point…
