There are numerous branches south of Jamaica station: Long Beach, Babylon, Montauk, Far Rockaway, and West Hempstead with four stations: Locust Manor, Laurelton, and Rosedale on the west side [Atlantic Branch]; and Saint Albans on the east side. They are six stations on the Long Beach Branch [including L.B. itself]: Island Park, Oceanside, East Rockaway, Centre Ave & Lynbrook, also includes the Valley Stream station. On the L.B.B. started in 1880 as a NY-LB railroad. And on the Babylon Branch started in 1860 with 14 stations [including Babylon station itself]: Lindenhurst, Copiague, Amityville, Massapequa Park, Massapequa, Seaford, Wantagh, Bellmore, Merrick, Freeport, Baldwin, Rockville Centre & Lynbrook. Service will begin to/from Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan; some trains to/from Atlantic Terminal in Downtown Brooklyn or Long Island City in Queens [Rush hours only]; some westbound trains will start at Wantagh, Freeport or Massapequa Park. Some trains on the LBB will terminate [Eastbound] & start [Westbound] at Lynbrook. Carried the M7 EMU & future M9 fleet that serves all of the branches except the West Hempstead, Ronkonkoma [east of Ronkonkoma], and the Montauk branch.
