Thank you so much! I am on PC, but apart from using a few mods I've not got any experience of sharing content. Is there a thread that explains how to get liveries out of the game? Also, where would you suggest uploading them to? Sorry for being a bit clueless and thank you for the feedback.
First you need to get Raging Lightning's TSW Livery Manager, *a freeware app that lets you import and export livery files from and to your hard drive. Once you have them exported, you can upload them- the biggest site for US/UK content is trainsimcommunity.com, and for German railsim.de. * If you are using Steam, you're better off with V. 0.3.2. V0.4 and 0.5, which support Epic and Microsoft Store respectively, aren't especially stable yet. ----------------------------------- My own most recent effort with the niggly bits is here
Yeah, I definitely will when CC comes out. For now I have uploaded it to trainsimcommunity for anyone else on PC who wants to give it a go when it gets approved. Thanks Solicitr for all the tips for how to share it.
first approach to a new project ... what do you think? @Edit. many detail are missing, many wrinks, hair shape... eyebrows is just point of reference for example. blue color destroy eyes i know and all is basic... just want to ask is this have any logic and "competition way" point of view in the future.
Decided to create a livery based on Virgin Trains East Coast for the class 395. also should i add something red to the front?
Yes Sir. Have it in mind, however i have no idea yet, how to do it with a reasonable number of shapes. Thanks for the picture.
Good work. Just note that the blue bit at the driving ends are slanted and the other lines have transparency affects on
This is a fictional railroad. It serves both North and South Carolina. In the picture we see one of there EMD F-7 pairs working on the steep grades of the Clinchfield in 1975 after being leased. The B unit is an ex NYC bought in 1955 and the A unit was bought in 1945 just after the war.
I like that you provide backstory! However, the A unit if built in '45 would have to have originally been an F3, later factory-upgraded to F7 standard a few years later (this was the case with some of Clinchfield's; others were bought new as F7s)
Had to go fictional with NB&SF or New Brunswick and Southern Freight. This locomotive was originally a SD40-2 for UP. But in 2019 NB&SF bought the locomotive and rebuilt it into a SD40A-2 SD standing for Special Duty, 40 standing for the horse power, A for Alternating power for freight operations on North Eastern Corridor, and -2 for the dynamic braking.
Looking good so far but you might wanna take a quick second look at the logo if you can. West Coast spacing is further apart and Avanti is slightly wider. Other than that it’s coming along very nicely?
I was meant to remove the wording, I copied my AWC normal livery and changed the layer, looking on google, the branding is only on the fronts, not the sides, however I appreciate all feedback
Bullet Bee ... bzzz bzzz @Edit. Is there a bullet bee in the real world? Because I think I got disqualified from the Livery contest. Sadness, because I didn't even know about the existence of such colors on real locomotives. @Edit2 I was overreacting and bee is still in "the game".
SPSF CRR SD-40 -EDIT: Updated this post with the newest version of the livery. The lack of weathering is intentional as I wanted to depict a brand new example. Inspired by this amazing documentary by Peter Dibble
It's not fictional, I believe one or two units were actually painted before the ICC rejected the merge. I will be uploading the 3 variations (SP, SF, and SPSF) to the creator's club though.* *as correctly pointed out it's my intention to do so, depending on licenses.
Question about this: I know DTG have stated that UP-branded liveries will be allowed on the CC. Presumably this includes fallen flags like SP and CNW. But where would SPSF-branded content fall? Would the SP-exclusive Kodachrome be wholly owned by Union Pacific? Is there some kind of holding company left over? From a quick Wikigoogle, it seems like whatever SPSF trademarks were left were absorbed by the BNSF merger rather than being sold off with SP. Cheers
I honestly have no idea... and TBH I don't even know if that matters, I think they are going to moderate only against offensive stuff, remeber the comment from Sam on the matter, "if you ask us we have to say no"... Let's wait and see if/how the club will be moderated in terms of licenses. I'd guess the SP version should be allowed (as a UP fallen flag), while the SF and SPSF version would require the BNSF license.
Carried on and did some more work on the grain cars I'd started for Sherman Hill seeing as the custom versions sub in a lot like the autoracks..... I'm not sure what has happened but the pixelization on this model is absolutely awful and the Sandpatch model is much better in comparison but I've done these as the pixelization isn't too noticeable except for the small text. All four are ready for some weathering now.
However it is not a Copywrited liver nor do many people even know about those engines. I know I sure didn't.
What do we need to make? Put your creative hat on, start thinking of an all-new and original idea, and get crafting as the theme for this Livery Designer competition is Freestyle. We want to see your artistic creations using the Train Sim World 2 Livery Designer tool. Create a livery of your own design and you could be one of three lucky winners who receive some cool Train Sim World 2 merch. [...] Use the tool to create your livery. This must be completely original, void of any copyrighted material or intellectual property, it must not be a real-world livery and must, of course, be inoffensive. Once you’ve completed your design, take a screenshot in-game showing off your new custom creation. Sadly I don't think I could submit it...
I had got really stoked about doing freight cars for Sherman Hill (as well as downloading WD's)- but I find it unplayable. My aging but not elderly PC can't handle it, and although I have a tolerance for low framerates, 5-10 fps is too much even for me.
Since this livery is submitted to the livery contest, might as well put it here to see what you guys think of it (might do more, but well see). So here it is, the first livery of the RMCX that I call, Lava Tube I (prototype) (Ignore the handrails, it ain't supposed to be like that)
Think I'm done with these now.... I created another more worn Cotton Belt car to make three in total. Like I mentioned previously the pixelization on the Sherman Hill grain car is really bad so the other liveries I wanted to do just looked horrendous so these are the one's that came out OK and at least add a little variety to the block grain and manifest trains on the route.
