I was not having luck with this today. I wanted to take the Class 09 shunter BR BLU (from Northern Trans Pennies) and give a BR green theme but in the livery designer you cannot find any of it's symbols, signs or specific locomotive themed colors except the main body color. I cannot even re-color the wheel arms joint on the wheels. What's the point of having a livery designer when you can't properly replicate something from the real world.
Recreating a livery in the livery editor takes some creative thinking with the available shapes. There are a number of reasons logos are not part of the livery editor, mainly has to do with copyrights and agreements with the companies represented in the game. The livery designer also does have its limitations, like not being able to paint certain parts of the locomotive
