I am quite happy to admit, that I am not very artistic and I am struggling with the livery editor. We do desperately need some detailed step by step tutorials!

I've had some simple success with the USA box car, so I turned my attention to the tank car and I found it more or less impossible using the projection tool to make the ladders and hand rails a different colour to the main wagon because of the curved surface.

A similar issue occurs on the USA locos where normally the vast number of hand rails and walkways would be a different colour to the main body of the loco.

I am not sure if it would be technically possibly, but it would be good if the user was able to apply a different base colour separately to the "fine detail" such as the ladders, the hand rails, handles and grills of the model. This would save a lot of faffing around.

I agree 100%. The livery editor could use some work, and I hope DTG keeps trying to make it better. It has so much potential.
