These locos would be suitable for both West Coast Main Line: Crewe - Preston and West Coast Main Line: Preston - Carlisle Class 81 Class 82 Class 83 Class 85 Class 37 Class 56
What about the Class 84? Given that JT seem to stick with the year 1986 for their BR routes, and the fact that those locos were only working ecs moves in London and Liverpool, I think the only way we'd get these locos is if we got a 1980s version of WCML South or a new 1980s route out of Liverpool Lime Street. That specific 37 model is already in the works as an add-on for the yet-to-be-released NTP remaster My single favourite diesel loco so yes please!
Hell yeah all great trains, especially the 81 which was always a favourite of mine, (I even have the oo scale model of it)
Yes the 84’s were pretty much gone, even during the period I commuted from Northampton to Euston, 1979 to 1984. Class 85 were probably the most numerous of the Roarers. However the evening Down Master Cobbler (1723 from Euston) frequently produced an 81, sometimes an 82 or 83. The latter somewhat prone to blowing up north of Watford Jn so cue an hour or so for an assisting engine to arrive from Willesden, then getting home at 1930 to a congealed dinner on the plate kept warm in the oven!
Out of the electric locos I would vote for the 85. The 56 is also a fantastic loco I hope to see soon.
