Well, not being. from the UK, it doesn't really matter to me whether the route ends in Richmond or Scunthorpe. And length is only one factor among many that define a route.

I watched the preview and the route does indeed appear very well made with excellent detail and this young fella deserves a lot of praise.

However, the route is very much in the current pattern of TSW output. A linear, electric bus service with a very familiar plastic looking one handle toy train with a prison like peep hole for a windshield.

This is somewhat assuaged by the liberal use of AI trains and driveable freight, and the price is certainly reasonable.

However I really don't need another route and train like this. But I look forward to future efforts by this talented modeler.

 

I watched some of the preview stream. It's a very well made route, but it doesn't get me very excited - another London commuter route with an electric train. I'll not be purchasing on this occasion.

 

Route seems good enough, not really different from the usual stuff, but I see myself enjoying such a route.

The 378 however, the small windshield ruins it for me. Not really interested. Not many other trains available to run on the route either.

Still, I might pick it up someday when it's on a very high discount.

I am not bothered about length as long as the route is highly detailed and accurate. I would love to see KWVR the railway children route only about 6 miles but if accurately produced l would happily pay £30.

As for Mildmay it’s a day one purchase as he is a single developer and it’s an insult to him waiting for a sale. The guy deserves as much money as he can and this might encourage others, all good for the game

 

I get your drift to a point but my primary interest is BR era stuff. I tend to buy modern stuff for a dabble and don't get the use that some might. Not an insult at all. Better than not buying it. If the producer was doing a West Highland 80s route or a class 56 or any number of other DLC it would be most likely be a full price day one purchase.

 

Not for everyone I admit, but nor is any route. I’ll be buying it though, despite it not being the full route.

 

Developed by an individual with a passion for game development is what we need to see more of. It does seem DTG has done a good job with the partner program allowing individuals to create and sell routes.

 

Will scheduled runs to and from Willesden Junction depot on the Suffragette line be included?

 

If you mean 710’s running on this new route as empties between Willesden and Gospel Oak, then yes. I think there were a handful shown in the preview stream last night!

 

I like how Johannes mentioned appreciating work and collaboration with other third party developers such as ATS, JT, Skyhook etc, but mentioned nothing from Rivet. That already says alot about them.

 

Or maybe he just didn't have an opportunity to work with them.

 

Well he didn’t say they didn’t help & even if they didn’t, they may not have been present.

 

Day one purchase for me too as I’ve ridden this line a few times in my life. It’s nice to play a route where game play meets reality, I don’t get many opportunities to say that. The only other two routes I use IRL are the Bakerloo line and SEHS (to and from Dartford). Nice to add a third line to my list of routes I’ve ridden IRL.

The most important thing is supporting the dev and London content for me.

 

Rivet were probably too busy working on the launch routes for TSW6.

Darn it, I wish I was talented enough to build routes. I'd probably prefer to do it for DTG though. 28 years of working on spreadsheets and fraud investigation and preparing court cases isn't the best training for a late career switch to 3d sim modeling.

Well, Let me just say that in my defense and to those who may also agree with me, Sales Give opportunity to save money I mean, yes, This Guy deserves a lot of money for the good work he has done, but at the same time, money can be tight for some people and there are much important things to put your money on, such as provisions, bills, hygiene etc., rather than video games so, getting things on sale should not be seen as an insult but also to be seen as saving your money and putting it on other things that also need as much consideration as your putting in for the route.
And Plus, Did he even say that it would be an insult to him in the first place or it is just you who is thinking that?

 

I have other outgoings and have to choose how I spend any disposable income I have and consider other expenses. If it was a route like WCMLOS then full whack would be spent. As its a modern day EMU route then I will pick it up when it's a little less as I have a right to do. I do wish the producer good luck with the sales it just isn't something I will be desperate to buy....

 

Just run the FULL North London Line on TSC from Richmond to Stratford and its brilliant (apart from the stupid bird noises! ...does anyone know how to get rid of them? lol). I will buy this on day 1, compare with the TSC version and review on Steam. I think, and hope, it will do well

It probably won't be a day one purchase for me (I get paid on the 6th) but may well be soon after, as with the Gospel Oak-Barking Riverside, I quite enjoyed driving journeys and exploring in real life. I'll of course wait and see what the finished product is like, but I tend to find little niggles not that immersion breaking as others may do (understandably on very valid points though), and while I'm still working on some achievements and scenarios from other longer routes (some of the US freight ones), I do enjoy a route I can nip in and out of without having to risk the issue of loading from a save and it causing issues.

 

Based on what I saw from the ambassador videos of this route (in particular The British Ace) the FPS was way below 30 which is a worry. The low res seems to be all over the route and areas like Stratford even hit the hard red. I hope this feedback is helpful because with 8th gen consoles, they are seriously going to struggle playing this route and even 9th gen.

Edit: it even goes down to 15 fps

 

I'm also watching The British Ace stream on console. Blurry textures are back, only 12 minutes into the route.

Even if its 1 Person, he Can make the last 10 Stations as well and Take 6 Months more to Release it for more Money

 

This must have been doomed to disaster on consoles, and the length of the route probably doesn't play a major role, it's more about the density of traffic, even bus traffic and I don't know what else, a lot of AI traffic on intersecting main lines, etc.

 

If he made the whole thing all at once I doubt it would ever come out due to burn-out from working on a singular project all the time he literally said this himself.

 

Thanks for this. Got BA on now and agree sadly give this a miss for now with it running like that on PS5 at points not to mention the blurry textures. Big credit to the guy who made it hopefully at some point DTG can resolve these issues.

 

He's worked on this route for a year already just to get it where it is now. He's also said he's burnt out from doing it. Let the poor guy have a break.

Try building 10 stations, 15 miles of route in an urban area adding in a lot of detail, as well as building a train alongside it. Don't forget the timetable, plus AI traffic. You'll soon get burnt out after a month or two.

 

This guy has bills to pay and is solely relying on this product to financially support him.

If you’re out then you’ll be out for a long time. Mostly all routes in this game get cut short.

 

I would hope that someone at DTG did some testing on a retail PS5? Yet nothing from DTG to mention this. Pretty nasty approach to the situation considering Sony have an incredibly hostile refund policy.

The texture issue in general needs addressing though. It’s clearly not performance related, as even setting textures to the (sub?)1080p setting gives you the same result.

 

Given the fact that this problem is growing across all DLCs, and especially the new ones for TSW5, I'm starting to consider it a feature, or rather a difficulty level to find some playable settings for the additional layers

 

So are the 710 services all during the dark? I would probably get this route If I could drive the 710 at "normal" hours where you can see the route outside your window.

I was going to buy day one ,but I watched British ace preview it on ps5 pro and the blurry textures are still present. I play on series x so it will be bad on there too plus it had quite bad fps it dropped as low as 20 fps in places that's not good enough. I'm really starting to dislike the game on console .

 

May well suffer from Z-fighting too, and the other electrostars all seem to.

 

TSW5 on PS5 (and XboX) is slowly adrenaline fun.....
