I would like to say that I really like the New Routemaster for London. I love modernised versions of old stuff. I also like that Wrightbus called it the Wright SRM (Son of RouteMaster).

These screenshots look fantastic, though! That scenery! Reskinned Aventras! Stratford won't be as empty as I thought! Fair play to Incredible Trains! They've done well!

    I've just seen this image:
    upload_2025-2-4_18-38-7.png

Can anyone tell me what this is?
    upload_2025-2-4_18-39-35.png
It looks like a blue class 66. Have we seen that before? Also those headlights look... different?

Ugh I was dumb… I completely forgot this one lol, the GBRF don’t have black painted headlights and the Maritime one is blue on the roof.

This is a cab ride view of Willesden Junction low level to Stratford in a Class 153 filmed in January this year. Potentially good reference material for the route.

    Really impressed by the screenshots:
    • Fantastic to see the DLR made it in
    • Really nice to see the 710 repurposed for GA
    • Blown away by how good the 710 repurposed as EL is - and seemed on pictures at least that that one may be complete with roundel?
The one thing that I'm confused by is it said:

But I thought the stairs weren't going to be operable in the DLC? If they are, really pleased though!

New buses also look fab, and would be great if they were changed to match on WCMLS too at WFJ (if prototypical)

Workmanship looks excellent, but the route just isn't one for me, as I made clear, so isn't on my radar to buy.

Though if we could get Boris on one of the buses or riding his bike along the route I may reconsider...

Interested to see the DLR. Could this be the first AI using animated but not playable stock?

Yes the stairs wont be operable, but are modeled as part of the cab :)

This is superb! All these highly accurate AI vehicles are amazing. And the apparently fully branded/licensed Elizabeth Line and DLR liveries are the cherry on top. Really cool, the definition of going above and beyond!

    I'm going to say this...

I still think the illogical ending point of the route is disappointing. I think Richmond should have always been the natural conclusion. However from seeing the chaps posts on this forum and an interaction on Facebook, I'm sure he has his head screwed on and will do this at a later date.

Initially, when this route was announced I was very hesitant because of the reasons stated above. But after reflection and seeing the sheer quality and work that has gone into the detail (that quite frankly puts other developers with a TEAM of people to shame). I'm extremely impressed with the sheer quality of this, and I can see this chap is very talented and looks as if he could give JT a run for their money with his work. Attention to detail is absolutely huge here, and the fact his used his initiative to populate Stratford with reskinned stock is top notch stuff.

At a time when I feel TSW is going through a decline, this chap has proven how things should be done and what is possible within this game when work is put into it.

I still hold my opinion about the route not being wholly complete as a Overground route, but at a time when the rest of the UK content feels like it's in decline, I want to reward and show my appreciation to people like this gentleman who looks as if they've shown what can be done and the standard we should expect from other developers.

I've changed my tune on one thing, and I'm fully onboard for this and want to encourage talent like yourself in the game and invest in the add on as a customer.

I sincerely take my hat off to you.

Not having the full run is disappointing, but I'd rather the focus on the overall quality of the route and rolling stock than its length.

This. Is the quality and detail we want.
Johannes is showing DTG and others what can and should be done.

Lol, Johannes - any chance of getting the Boris licence? :D

Edinburgh Trams on E2G are also an example of this. Really cool thing to have implemented on this new route!

The amount of detail is well... Incredible.

Really looking forward to this route. I hope DTG are taking notes.

Well, now we can expect a busy Stratford station, from the screenshots on the Roadmap, we can find branded Elizabeth line 345, DLR (not sure if it's branded), and unbranded 720 (maybe somebody would make a branded one), or maybe we would see branded Central line and Jubilee line train? All of these would make Stratford station very busy.

All services calling at Stratford, now DLR, London Overground, Elizabeth line and GA's services would appear in game.

The upcoming Mildmay line would be an awesome route, and I can't wait for its release.

Probably because we had more common sense back in the day it seems. And didn't need a sign to tell us that something seems like a bad idea.

Even better, the 1972 stock that appeared on a previous screenshot (maybe the season of reveals) showed the 1972 at Stratford which adds to the busyness

It could certainly be a sale purchase and the lad seems to have done good, as they say. Certainly feel more affinity with this than the ATS Manchester route which seems to be relying on compulsion and the cattle prod to build rather than a genuine enthusiasm. Much will depend on the final selling price and also how the 378’s look and sound. In some ways, the fidelity of the train is more important than the route itself.

Just wish it had gone all the way to Richmond, like the TSC version.

Yes, Stratford will have all services, except for GA intercity services and C2C services, which are only in Stratford during the weekend.

Would you be able to add the c2c 387s once GWE remaster has been done?

I think just his outline or shadow would be enough as an easter egg, we don’t want him to get into trouble if he uses an actual picture or something similar ;)

Perhaps instead of Boris we could get a cameo from Sadiq Khan!

Well bearing in mind a few years ago, DTG recruited Sean Bean to do a voiceover for TSW, maybe they could ask Boris (or Sadiq) to do the route intro or Class 378 training briefing. Royalties to a charity of their choice.

The New Routemaster (as shown in the screenshot of this route) and the Wright SRM are two different buses. They are similar but not the same and most notably the SRM has no rear door or stairs, losing most of its resemblance to the original Routemaster.

I was so excited when this route was announced back in December! I've been following Johannes on his socials seeing the updates and must say that I cannot wait for the route! Although, yes it doesn't go to Clapham or Richmond, the fact that there's has been such an amazing focus of bringing the life of London with the routemaster buses, Greater Anglia, Elizabeth Line and DLR trains, to name a few being brought to the route as AI services is amazing! I'll be buying this on day one and I hope to see more Incredible Trains content to come to TSW soon!

Really hope consoles can handle all this AI traffic. I feel like when driving this route you would have to try it just using the external camera for all the train spotting :D

I think despite reservations about the shortness and being a bus stop route, I might dig my wad out for this after all.

When testing my route, I'm running through a lot of low-speed areas and red signals, just because I'm so distracted by the scenery :D

I had my own reservations too, but I think this fella has his head screwed on and if the detail is anything to go by, he'll most likely extend the route to Richmond at some point... That would be my guess anyway!

I must say this puts both DTG and Rivet to shame. Both of them can't go to this extent on AI traffic, from always the lame excuses of 'we didn't have time', 'will require extra work' etc. Fair play to this lad, whilst I may be personally disappointed this route isn't going full to Richmond, I'll be happy to take this route for myself.

This wasn't initially on my radar either if I'm totally honest although not particularly because of route length. But the more I see of it the more I'm getting intrigued by this one!

Honestly we've been crying out for more content with that little bit of care and attention to detail! Will definitely be keeping an eye on this one! Keep up the work Johannes :)

See, quality sells. Quantity doesn't. The quality in this route should be the standard everywhere.

So long as you have the pre Gold uncooked copy I don't see why not. From the little I understand about the editor you might have to redo the timetable from scratch but so long as the infrastructure hasn't been locked down I'm guesing you could just keep ading DEM/LiDAR, track and scenery as far as you wish.

What's happening is that DTG is counting on 3rd parties to hold up the game.

That's where the quality is coming from at this point.* Maybe it's the future.

    * JT, TSG and IT.

I can't tell whether you're joking with some sarcasm or not, so please forgive me if my robotic brain has misunderstood!

But can't see any reason they couldn't... I don't buy some of the excuses DTG make about not being able to do extensions. I think it's a developers issue of not wanting to or not committing resources to extending and updating a route, I don't believe an extension to an existing route is impossible!

They rebuild, rather than extend them.

Although that said, they must have a master copy of each route.

I doubt that when they redid SEHS, they completely rebuilt it. Surely some of the assets used in the original were able to be carried over.
