Been on both, seats on HSTs were ok just didn’t really like having to open the window and lean out to unlock the doors though

 

You must've been on an hst quite a while ago! XD
They've been upgraded to have sliding doors since then.
Also, slam doors are fun and take you back.

 

Not too long ago, I think mid 2021 was when EMR finished with them.

 

Oh wow. Didn't realize the big refurb was so recent.

 

I believe the first sliding doors came into use in 2018 with cross country.

 

When's GWR get it? Thought they had it first?

 

Perhaps, though I remember on my Devon Holiday in 2018 I remember seeing XC sliding doors HSTs but don't remember seeing any GW ones, but by the next year I saw both. Perhaps XC were early 2018 and GW late 2018, though if anyone from down that way knows for sure please chip in here!

What was that doing there? Also that doesn't really look much like Slough. Are you sure that's where it is?
Was it filling in for a 800 or smth?

 

Definitely Slough, it's my photo. Taken from Reading end of platform 4 looking east.
Being dragged from Eastleigh to Doncaster by 802204. It think they were undergoing some pre-service modifications. Only time I've seen a 14 car IET.
