Returning to the topic so as not to deviate from it. incrediblehannes I have a question for you . Are you planning to include anything from the Thameslink network on your route? Is it planned to include the core?
Renfe cercanias My ultimate vision would include parts of the Thameslink network. I have this vision, where everything within the M25 + some sensible extensions would be part of a big London network map. That obviously an enormous project, and I have no idea if I ever have the time to get even close to that goal. Currently, I enjoy learning all the different aspects of route building, and I'm jumping back and forth between different locations. As said before, I currently do not have any structured plan on how, if ever, and to what extent parts of the whole project will get published. For that, it is way too early in my learning process, and in my current situation in life, I'm also not able to make any commitments.
Here are some screenshots from my progress at Hackney Wick: Still, some detailing around the station left to do, but the area is already coming together quite nicely
I think regardless of whether or not you publish this in the end, you should be proud of what you have achieved and the amount of progress and learning you have made in such a short time, we're honestly in awe. If you feel like it DOES get to a point where you think it's ready for publishing, consider sliding DTG a message, they've mentioned on similar projects about the possibility of helping get it professionally published
Wow what a truly amazing looking project. Amazing what your producing on a first go with the editor! I really hope this continues to be built up and ends up with a good timetable also.
I’ve just came across this and nearly dropped my merseyrail class 508 pillow I was in this much shock this is absolutely bloody incredible if only I had the time and effort to do this nice work my guy
When I first saw that dovetail released the PC editor, I said to myself that I want to create the whole of London. I downloaded the software and didn’t know where to start. coming across this post has made me sooo excited! I know you said not to, but this looks phenomenal. I would happily pay good money for this even if it’s not complete. Keep going and keep posting progress shots!!
Awesome work. As a Londoner myself this would mean so much when/if it comes to fruition. I spend a lot of my time on London's railways and photographing them. Lets face it DTG have hardy touched the capital city really.
Absolutely stunning work. I admire your ambition in trying to recreate the whole of London. Its a massive undertaking. If at all possible it would be great to publish just the NLL if you could. Watching this with keenness!
Saw this on the roadmap, wow this is hugely ambitious. Just the work on Blackfriars station alone looks great!
Speaking of Stratford, one thing I will note is to make sure the track at the route ends (Stratford is one) extends far enough that it's not possible to see the end of the track from a player vantage point. I would extend track at least a good mile into the distance, and further if it appears from a vantage point around a curve or somewhere else later on.
Looks excellent this is coming together nicely. Was great to see this getting shown off in the community section of the roadmap you done a fantastic job of Blackfriars a station I use regularly in real life. Stratford looks really well made as well knew the station straight away seeing the pictures above. Excellent work and loving watching the progress of this. I take my hat off to you having been using the editor myself and making a route it’s certainly a learning curve lol
Looks stunning. I am honestly wowed by the amount of detail and visible hard work you have put into this... I can't wait to drive around Stratford if this releases!
Here's a question, will this map be its own separate route, or will it unite all the London routes together? Btw this looks amazing!
I do not think the existing maps can be united unless the route creators do so. They would have to be merged in their source forms.
I'm way too hyped for this now, any updates? Route looks amazing, love it. I'm trying to learn the PC editor at the moment so drop me a message if you might need any help with things.
I hope DTG understand that because you can't really have the LO without a 378. Even at Gospel Oak it should be visible passing the station on the other lines.
No I don't think so either however with TSW5 having a new "route hop" feature hopefully that would tie in nicely with this route should it be released
Unless DTG takes the project into something of theirs that charges money…probably not possible. Console people would not want free stuff going through that is that big. Ties up the download queues. Hence it would have to be charged for on console. Just a hunch.
“However, I was ambitious from the start, choosing a significant UK region for my first route. I quickly learned what a massive undertaking route creation is, and eventually narrowed my focus to one line that I’m excited to share soon” - One of the answers from the Roadmap so it doesn’t seem like all of London would be coming.
I can imagine there’s a lot of clues, and strong evidence, in this thread to as what the route is. Worth noting that in the interview they talked about nostalgia about a certain type of train, and that the route is packaged with a train they’ve made as well. I’m stoked for this creation!
I think it'll be the North London line, since their first screenshots was from that area and the route also ends in Stratford, and they also showed screenshots of that area. My guess for the rolling stock is the class 378 Edited: Thanks for the correction. I typed a bit too fast
