This is incredible. I remember seeing the screenshots half a year ago. The fact that all of this is being done by a single person is special (presumably with help from DTG in areas such as the timetable). Really looking forward to this, the route selection is very appealing to me.
Like some of the others I've also migrated here after the Roadmap, not having a PC means this is one forum I usually don't bother with, having looked at the screenshots it's looking incredible and considering you've done it by yourself, yeah I'll be getting this.
Just as a small note. The route probably won't include all the stuff in this thread. He said himself that he had to reduce his goals since it would've been too much for one person to completely create the whole railway system of London. So it will probably be just a single line that will be included in his route
I didn't see the initial version of this in the summer (except in the thread), so I will be curious what changes. We shall see!
Looks awesome mate, I think I’m equally as stoked to just get out and see the cityscape and skyline you’ve made. Do you know if guard mode is possible with it?
It looks incredible. I know you're doing the route but are you doing the 378 as well or is that someone else?
If you are referring to the screenshot with the previous track layout, much of that was laid with very bad quality and could have never been used in a real route. Sketching in the track really is only the first 3% of the whole work. Most need to be redone anyway to ensure proper layout, then you would need to add the signalling, OHLE, stations and so on. Almost all of my work was around the North London Line anyway.
This looks fantastic incrediblehannes ! Will definitely be buying on day one, can't at all fault you for only going as far as Willesden.
Looks great Some questions I had: Will there be an option of buying steam keys directly so you get the money quicker (for example like buying WCMLOS on www.justtrains.net, or would it be too complicated to handle purchases? Will there be any ROG 37 drags of the class 378? (though I don't know if there have been on the Mildmay specifically, or whenever the timetable is set) Will these stairs on the class 378 be usable?
Sales will be handeled completely by DTG. As I'm currently the only developer for Incredible Trains, managing an onlineshop would be a big additional work load. There are also currently no plans for any ROG 37 drags. And unfortunately these emergency stairs wont be usable
This looks absolutely fantastic! Will we be able to access the Lioness line platforms at Willesden Junction on foot and trainspot the bakerloo line and watford - euston trains?
Looks great. I saw a lot of complaints about it not being the full route, but looking on the map it seems like a very well contained route connecting a lot of other routes. I enjoyed Goblin a lot and would love to buy this route as well. Of course the full service length is cool but for a first route as well this looks incredible. and of course extensions on a later date are always possible, I always thought without connecting routes most TSW routes will end up being Junction to Junction anyways. The 378 looks like an interesting train too, I've never seen it before.
My money is on no because DTG, I think, likes to block out areas you don't use on routes. It's a good way to hide the end of track points where trains would despawn.
Willesden junction will be accessible completely. You can go down and spot lioness 710s and bakerloo line trains
Have you been to Morecambe on Preston-Carlisle? You can go pretty far from the platform towards the sea. Even a few collectibles there. They really put some effort in there. So it's possible.
Most of the track of the junction, and Willesden TMD are explorable by foot But you are correct, you cannot leave the station, and can only go as far as the ticket gates
Looking forward to buying the overground north London in the new year. I'd like to know if the timetable has more variety in service patterns than the Goblin line. I can see from what I've read the route has a lot of traffic on the route. It's great for a single developer to be able to release a route for Tsw.
I saw somewhere that you will be able to choose to drive the Class 710 as a substitution for the 378 which is great, however I’m just wondering if there will be a chance that the 710 subs in as an AI service instead of the a 378?
Isn't it like 8-10 trains in each direction per hour? With 50/50 going to each Richmond or Clapham from Willesden? Would be real nice if this is simulated in that way in the game
I will probably be the opinion of the majority: why is NLL incomplete? Why 12 miles and not the full journey to Richmond? What is the problem in the last 5 miles?
Obviously because he's working on his own and also doing a new train as well. It's still 18 stations. I've got an idea why don't you go off and build the entire route yourself?
I don’t think saying “Why don’t you build it yourself” is a great way to respond to criticism, it’s valid to ask why only half of the line is being built and even though I’m fine with it myself and probably buying it I wouldn’t downplay genuine concerns.
Going to be honest, this kind of comment rubs people the wrong way. I know as the kind of person who thinks it sometimes.
I'm straight up and not scared to speak my mind. I'm not a PC snowflake, you can take it or leave it. He said "I'm speaking for the majority", that really annoyed me because there is no way in hell anyone on here can know such things. Arrogant.
He said he "was speaking for the majority£ what sort of a bleep comment was that? Ordinarily if built by an official dev like DTG or a 3rd organisation yes, but this started as a passion project, the clue is where this thread is? So I stand by my comment. The criticism of this work is lazy when you consider what this lone guy has done. That guy, and anyone else who moans, should go and get the public editor and try building a new train and urban route with it. It's strange when people take it on themselves to act as mods as well. This is a free forum and private moderation is not required thank you.
My take on this is that the member who originally complained saying he “was speaking for the majority” re. the route not being long enough, complete or whatever, rather set himself up for the comment that followed. It did come across to me as a bit arrogant and ungrateful under the context of this project.
Not really acting as a moderator here, just saying that I wouldn’t start quarrelling with someone who has some criticism on the route length.
Also something to say aswell, pretty sure people would still be complaining if it went up to Richmond as others would be talking about the lack of Clapham Junction services..? So I’d just be content with the current line as there is likely to be amazing quality throughout the route and a lot of Ai and Player services to see and do yourself
Watching the stream back since I was at work when it was live. this route looks pretty interesting and the idea of extending this line and making the entirety of london still amazes me. as someone who is making a timetable for an existing route in my free time I am amazed by how as a single person this entire route got created this quickly. I hope this release gets the deserved response and congratulations Johannes on having such a route as the first third party release. I personally can't wait to hear more about your and the other 3rd party projects. This shows that the editor project is releasing routes with the love and dedication to the route we all want to see.
You’ve done such a good job in an astonishing timeframe. Really good stuff. Day one purchase and look forward to your next products
You can make a cool thameslink route with this, the Mildway line looks amazing aswell its a day one purchase for me.
